Just watched it. Its pretty good. But some of the cgi especially 9 yin manual n 18 dragon palm was badly done compared to some of the series. Should've had cgi 18 dragon palm n dragon screaming effect instead of the clear air bending style they chose.
The series is more about the effect of war between different countries etc dknt want to go too in debt in it.
Newcomers will enjoy war scene etc. But cutting out yang kang etc in story was kinda bad idea. Coudlve just used him in story like 2008 version led him ne general pf jin one behind scenes controlling ou yang feng or somethings. Then had final battle of brother vs brother.
Then sequel couldve continued some war lead to battle Hua shan then birth yang guo n yang guo going to train at ancient tomb.

Watching alot of donghua as well. Alot to catch up on. Perfect world, Swallow Star, a Wills Eternal, Renegade Immortal, Big Brother, World of Immortals, Battle Through The Heavens, Soul Land 2, Throne of Seal, Demon Hunter.
The only thingy I dislike is the action scenes r too slow pace like the wire work camera movement etc. Beside that i like this new cast as well.
And they need the dubbers from donghua and say their techniques Thats what made it iconic.and the flower n ghost guy just acts normal they dont play their parts that well.
