Aaaaah!! Why?! Not a single official streaming platform in the U.S. has Moonlit Reunion, not even Viki. And I…
It's up on the Disney+ app as "Coming Soon" - someone on reddit called Disney+ customer service (linked somewhere below) and they were told episodes would air at 6pm (likely PST/California time) So an annoying delay from mainland China, but still faster than Viki and importantly legal and officially supports the production.
What I don't know is if they will follow the same release schedule as Tencent in China. I saw a comment earlier this morning that Disney+ Hong Kong had the first 5 episodes like SVIP on Tencent, so fingers crossed it will be the same in the US
Video quality is garbage on Linmon's YouTube channel too, I won't watch it there on principal so, sadly, will…
It may be on Hulu in the States, since Hulu is now technically a subsidiary of Disney+ - I noticed earlier that a good number of their exclusive K-dramas are technically under Hulu (although you may need the bundle? Not sure, since I haven't had Disney+ for several years and reactivated to watch MR)
You can always check later today - it's supposedly going to be released on Disney+ this evening sometime (6pm PST likely)
7.9 rating is crazy work ngl, so low, but you know each to their own, just my opinion but I think should be way…
Welcome to Xu Kai’s fans world. His haters mass downrate all his shows here which is why most of his dramas on MDL have low ratings. They come in waves and have knocked established older drama ratings down several times during my time here
They had As Beautiful as You at like 6.7 when it first started airing, so don’t be surprised if this rating goes further down. Others call us delusional about that but as someone who has seen it happen in real time for multiple shows, it’s a real thing
@Jungshooky thanks for this update drives me nuts we have all of these subscriptions and they just release worldwide…
Netflix has had a few that they aired at the same time right? I think Perfect Match and The First Frost?
I’ve been in boards study hell all summer so I wasn’t really following any dramas since I didn’t have time to watch them. (Boards are over now though - just in time for MR!)
Is this territory lock? I can't even find it on WeTV. Is linmon allergic to international audience? This is the…
Where are you located? If you're in the USA, your only option outside VPN or pirated sites is likely Disney+ (the jury is out about Viki - some people in the US see it as 'coming soon' while others - myself included - either can't find it at all or it's listed as regionally restricted)
Disney+ US is supposedly releasing episodes at 6pm (PST most likely)
Apparently Tencent really needs a hit drama since they've flubbed in comparison to Youku and iQiyi this year (especially summer season) - so you'd think they wouldn't suppress heat for any drama if it looks like it'll be hit . . . . (but I'm starting to wear the tin foil hat in thinking they may purposely suppress XK's shows ^^' )
I’m having the same issue with those apps and Disney+ too! Viki and Disney are both saying “coming soon”…
According to a fan on reddit who called Disney+, it will air tonight at 6pm. Timezone not specified, but given Disney's history with other shows, it likely means 6 pm PST (California time). So depending on where you are in the USA it could be anywhere from 6-9pm (or earlier if you're in Hawaii or Alaska).
For me, I'll be checking in at 8pm since I'm in central time
@Jungshooky thanks for this update drives me nuts we have all of these subscriptions and they just release worldwide…
Right? I believe this is Disney+'s first foray into c-drama, at least airing one at the same time as China . . . so they likely don't understand the fan culture/expectation of having episodes at basically the same time as mainland China.
Maybe people will inundate their customer service help systems enough that Disney will change their scheduling tactic for the next c-drama they pick up (if they do so) XD
So, fellow Americans hoping to watch this on Disney+ - there may be a 12ish hr delay from mainland China and it may become available at 6pm (however, unknown what timezone, though likely Pacific/California time given Disney's airing history with other shows [ugh why])
Source: Redditor who contacted Disney+ customer service, so this depends on whether that agent had the correct info. If in doubt, Reddit likely has an answer lol
It's 9am CST and still nothing on Disney+ USA - I'm taking a staycation this week and was looking forward to watching this drama but now I'm starting to feel like that may not happen :/ I have other dramas I can watch, but this was #1 on my list and can't help feeling bitterly disappointed.
And no, I will not watch on pirated sites - more so for my computer's sake than anything else. I'm half tempted to get a VPN but I'm already paying for multiple subscription sites.
Here's hoping Disney is just a little behind and the episodes will be uploaded sometime later today . . .
I already subscribed to Disney, so it at least better be faster than Viki if they both end up streaming stateside. Based on some other comments here, it's still unknown if Viki USA will stream it though
It's on Disney+ I hope it's gonna be quite light (and children friendly?)
Not necessarily - Disney+ has more content than strictly Disney productions (Marvel, Star wars, also some Hulu content from what I remember - it's been awhile). It's a c-drama, however, so I'd imagine it wouldn't be more than a PG-13 -equivalent rating (given CCP censorship in general)
I think I'm still going to get Disney+ (I've been meaning to and putting it off anyway), but I'm hoping their release schedule will follow more closely to mainland China than Viki (always so far behind and dodging spoilers here is exhausting T___T)
I highly recommend The Double. The plot and characters are great, but what really pulled me in was how artistically it was shot. It's a very beautiful and sometimes haunting drama to watch - and unlike most mainstream c-dramas you see nowadays, it has a fresh feeling. They apparently took a lot of inspiration from classical Chinese opera themes/techniques as well.
i know. after watching him in yourhful glory , i just go awww this little shit
Personally I would recommend you watch Blood of Youth first. Both are good shows, but in my opinion Blood of Youth is the better one and you actually get background on a lot of the characters featured in Dashing Youth.
I definitely felt like the screenwriters of DY assumed you are already familiar with BoY and that you would recognize the characters and realize their significance without much backstory. I actually had to go back and rewatch BoY at the same time as DY because it had been so long and I had forgotten a lot of character details which were not explicitly stated in DY. But others may feel differently. (Though there are discrepancies between the two shows just as a forewarning)

Haters gonna hate, as they say

But as of 9am CST this morning, it's still listed as "Coming Soon" on Disney. No indication as to when "soon" will be
