US watchers - I also contacted Disney+ Help Services just now and got a useless "I'm unable to tell you exactly when it will release" response. So I'm going to assume that we're going to have to wait a long time before we can watch this legally - I'm staring to suspect they're waiting for the whole drama to release in China so they can just drop all the episodes at once. If they drop episodes sooner, it'll be a pleasant surprise, but at this point, this is my expectation.

Disney+ is still saying "Coming Soon" even after service reps telling multiple people different times. First it was 6pm PST yesterday. Then midnight PST last night. Still nothing.
So yeah, I don't know what's going on at Disney right now. They're either flubbing this so incredibly badly OR they have no plans to release this alongside mainland China and are just lying to people. I fear they're waiting for the whole freaking drama to release in China so they can just upload all the episodes at once.
I refuse to watch illegal sites for multiple reasons, so I guess I'm not watching this one unless Viki miraculously is able to stream in the states (very unlikely)
Somebody please post a comment when it is finally up on Disney+ in the US. I am not purchasing a subscription…
As of this morning at 9am CST, still nothing. It's still reading as "Coming Soon" on the Disney+ app, so these service reps are obviously just lying to people at this point. So who knows when it'll become available?

Another fan @Amarina called Disney+ this evening and apparently they made an 'error' so will be releasing episodes at midnight PST (so in about 4 1/2 hrs). So fingers crossed, episodes will be available on Disney+ tomorrow morning

Oh god, the Princess Royal, don't remind me. Towards the end the script felt like some horrid fangirl love letter to the SML who deserved none of it. Ugh. In comparison, Chu Zhao is quite mid and just . . . blah?
You can try A Girl Like Me. It's been awhile since I've seen it - but the FL is strong, extroverted, and a bit brash (compared to other noble ladies of her age haha). I can't remember if she's flirty/playboy, but the ML is a gentle/pure scholar type so similar dynamic I suppose

Disney+ US likely has exclusive streaming rights, so we'll be lucky if Viki can stream it here. Supposedly, Disney+ will be airing the first episodes tonight at 6pm (likely PST) - which is an annoying delay but still faster than Viki. I'll update if this ends up being true or false

It'll be on Disney+ but apparently there's a 12ish hr delay in their airing schedule. Last I heard (from someone who contacted Disney customer service), episodes will drop at 6pm (likely California time). A 12 hr delay is still faster than Viki . . . but if you don't have Disney+ and/or refuse to subscribe to them, then bootlegging or VPN are your only options :/
