Anyone feeling bothered with the product placement in this drama? I can tolerate better when shown in a more subtle way. But it's so much in your face and takes up so much space, it has grown the opposite effect on me.
this drama was done filming back in year 2015 but is still waiting for airing time. I might watch it for Sheren and Andrew... didn't even realize until now that Cheng Yi had gotten main roles ever since Noble Aspirations.
I don't know about you guys but I am hooked to this drama. I procrastinated and binge-watched all available episodes up to this day.
Did anyone cry in episode 6? During that scene, when I saw the audience started to cry, I actually rolleyed LOL. then when HXM started to remember his own mother then connected to the play. ... I thought the scene was well scripted. and yeah ... then, tears started to form. I was surprised myself LOL
I think this pandemic is getting to me more than I would ever like to acknowledge myself...
LoL Now, there are new rumours floating on weibo that it might be Barbie and Sean ..... haha Is the marketing team testing the waters lol?
I read some people commenting ... ummm can't you guys wait for confirmation first before jumping at each other throat? At this point, it is all speculation anyways ...
Pfff ... Some people are so quick on condemning and assuming things around here. I don't even see a romance tag LOL I just googled it and found nothing. Now, I half want this drama to turn out to be a horror drama or something, just for the sake of it. Haha... Highly unlikely based on the director's past works but who knows?
Lakorns like this can be ridiculous, but that’s what makes them so much fun. You just turn your brain off and…
Thanks for the lengthy comment. I just completed this lakorn few minutes ago and boy, you couldn't have outlined it better for me! My auntie told me about an older version of this drama ... and with a "weak and forgiving" female lead as Wee. I think I'll just pass.
Don't spread meaningless false rumors. I literally saw nothing on weibo
Indeed, Meng Ziyi backlash was done by fans of the novel. They got hold of production schedules and saw filmed scenes clips. They bombarded with their dissatisfaction and created major awareness toward that issue. And because of the fan's hard work, we got no BL theme turns hetero romantic storyline and I am more than pleased with the result. (@^◡^)
(On a side note, at that time, some were also anxious, to a lesser extent, about the casting of Sean and Yibo based on their acting history. Good thing though that the production team has proven them wrong. I actually thought that the casting crew was really fitting. )
For someone who didn't know about the novel, they might feel okay whether it's hetero or BL. But I am afraid that I can relate to them (fans). Many disastrous adaptations in the past have proven than buying IP drama and making an adaptation out of it shouldn't equal free reign for fanfiction and for a reason ... and that applies to all adaptation regardless of CP gender.
same here, me love the description and the "banner" image. Though, they don't seem to care much about episodes thumbnail pictures .... probably auto-generated...
hehe, I even have the WeTV appz on the cellphone, drama and bts included. (^_-)
I guess I'm just happy that this drama is shown to an even bigger audience, so I'm willing to try various means for comparison sake and/or viewing pleasure. Personally, I prefer Viki's subtitles over all other version.
On a side note, I don't think it's with views that they make the money but more with advertisements shown and viewed. Creator Insider often share updates in regards to youtube policies such as copyrights, claims and monetization. Therefore, if one is using ads blocker while watching on YouTube, I'm afraid that Tencent won't get revenues through that platform. Besides, didn't Tencent simply purchased broadcasting rights? Production teams/investors were Penguin Film and Television and Xinyi Media. So, I believe Tencent is rather similar to other medium such as viki or netflix.

I found a cut with Yin Zheng here: https://v.qq.com/x/page/m035984vjo6.html (WARNING for possible trigger!)

For me, the only redeeming point is the ending song. [EDIT: I also loved the monkey and the dog]
