Some are better than other at playing that game. Some knows how to give "smart" answers. Some are more luckier too. The stake are high but the risk are there too. I can recall a professional female cascadeur who once filmed an action scene. and because they decided to change the timing for a few seconds leading to her having a serious accident. I've forgotten her name though. If I can remember later, I would edit this post here.

In regards to drinking onset, I actually share your view. Usually one would switch the alcoholic beverage with coke or juice because of the need to prevent accidents from happening and for the actors to actually remember their lines. And what to do at the right time. Because every single take cost money. How can one manage the set with someone else not being fully conscious of their action is beyond my understanding.
Though there were instances for which actors actually drank before filming certain specific scenes. For example for bed scenes. You can google that up, there were reports that some actrice drank before a threesome scene, for example. And some other before actually a fighting scene.
Regardless of their own preference and decision, I still prefer my staff to be fully aware of their action, so that they can be held accountable for what they are doing on set. Back on topic with Sam's drinking, I think that wasn't a wise decision at all. Sam could have hurt Yu during filming. Or do another thing that can lead him to have regret. And regret is a terrible feeling. Sam might have thought that drinking can help him with the scene. But as a responsible production team, they should have known better. It was ridiculous to encourage him to drink so much.

While i agree that certain elements can cause a trigger to some, i don't want to see a fully fluffy pinkish type of story either. We got it for season 1 already, during school phase which is really endering: competition, ankwardness, innocence of youth and inexperienced. It was all fitting.
Since season 2 was 5 years later, we need to see some character development. And corporate world is no joke. Just the concept of business acquisition, shareholders and legacy are just a few that business people are handling.
From what I see so far, the production are well done. The only thing that can kill season 2/is a major plothole. Certainly not a second slap in the face at someone who didn't give news for 5 years without explanation.
