Our Glamorous Times ( the other Zanilia's drama ) has been confirmed for premier in November already. I have doubts they would present two of her dramas during the same period. It doesn't look like a good business strategy. But then again, I'm as clueless as you are on this subject.

The news regarding her and Feng Shao Feng has been grating on my nerves as of lately. I first imagined it as a marketing ploy to get our attention for the upcoming drama. But it has started to become a bit annoying. It's been over what a year or something?! Pregnancy? Marriage? Grandchildren? Good, congratulations! Probably it's because I'm not interested in stars personal life. The couple fans must be thrilled I guess? haha
I will be skipping 2 of ZYL upcoming dramas already, plus I have a bad feeling about Ming Lan based from his translated comments so I plan to not pass on this one even though I dropped Mystic Nine ... Same screenwriter that is ...

I'm not sure about the DVD/Blue-Ray current market but I'm under the impression that to get to an online plateform such as Amazon and Netflix might give the opportunity for this drama to reach an even wider audience. Seeing how shorted-sight they are, it highly improbable. I was so upset to see it off from youtube and Youku as if THEY wanted to erase the possibility that such a controversial production can also reach success, simply to confirm the saying: " killing one to scare a hundred ... "
Ok im now up to episode 24, every characters are so full of flaws even main leads. Which I guess make the drama much more realistic. Only master Zu remains whom i wholeheartedly support. But I'm not sure I want to see him end with Biyun. I didn't like her forcing him to marry minyue. He can clearly separate right from wrong, some common sense that most characters are lacking in this drama. At this point, I also strongly prefer him over the male lead, probably bcuz his character is more likable haha.
Will probably continue the drama for the sake of it, but I'm so happy that that Wu shi exists in this drama. It feels better that there is at least on sane person out of the whole lot.

First episode only and I can feel it, this will be a nice drama. Casting wise: so far so good! And theme song lyrics are sweet! Music video is well-made, I seldom pay attention to it in dramas, but I watched. All the hints about old Chinese customs are a nice addon, even though we know them already, it's still interesting that people cared enough to add them still.
Heard this drama has won an award! If it's the truth then I totally support.

Did you mean the drama version or the anime version? Grave of the fireflies is a tearjerker in the anime format. But I dropped the drama version. I really didn't like the changes in it.
Trying to answer your question from my experience as a drama addicted with "cold-hearted or cold vein... " ( I don't cry easily at all ... It takes a lot to make me to. ) , I would be recalling a particular scenes from the drama and suddenly burst into tears ... Even while at work... So yup it leaves really a deep impact on your psyche ... A bit similar to the movie The Killing Field.
You might be emotionally drained after completing the drama. So choose the time to binge watch wisely. ^_^

Omg! I totally get and share your feelings! I would choose Cui Nong over Fang Ling any day. On side note, I thought Yi Long was a little on the skinny side. In some scenes, we saw his sunken cheeks ... and I don't think it was due to the make-up. I wanted to see a sequence with Cui Nong feeding him or something... Lol. That would have been gold.
Back on topic, yes I also prefer Bi Yun over VZ who I think is overrated in term of acting skills and beauty/physical apparence.
I don't mind her casting so much but more on the butchering of a great novel. I low key really like the author style. So to have twisted it into such a drama is IMHO innaceptable!
