When I was watching it (while it aired) I mostly skipped the evil family scenes, although I’m about to rewatch…
My suspension of disbelief comment was regarding the real world stuff. As long as fantasy portions of drama hold to the fantasy world’s rule, which it does here, I enjoy it. I actually didn’t have any problems with the comic-dimension.
Well he does not scheme or something to destroy the relationship between the leads .... though he confronts the…
Lol. Looking forward to rolling my eyes. If you don’t mind, can you please let me know if there are any silly break-ups and if there are, does it take forever to reconcile? TIA
Well that felt like forever long with 20 1hr 15min + episodes. There were some issues at the beginning and some drag toward the end. The middle-end helps explain antagonist backstories better and their characters become clearer. Too bad they didn’t highlight the relationships and motives at the beginning. Still, sweet romance and friendships. Worthwhile watch w/ some ffwd help.
Yeah, I slam through dramas b/c I don’t have patience for the silly portions and ffwd through them. A part of how I rate dramas is how often I had to fwd ;) It’s also quarantine and I’m a germophobe so not much to do.
You’re not missing much if you don’t watch. They are cute together and there is no silly breakup or SL getting in the way, but they rated-G kiss maybe three times and their relationship is in the background with basketball in the foreground. They play the same team the entire time - truly a worthless basketball team. I only kept watching for FL and ML, especially ML since he has no other dramas coming soon and it nice watching him semi-play bball.
Unfortunately it doesn't. This show is a mess.EDIT: Full disclosure: this was written when I was super frustrated…
I wouldn’t say “rather biased” as that would imply s/he had preconceived prejudices. The viewer gave it a chance and didn’t like it so she dropped it and shared her opinion. To each their own. I make my own opinions and usually watch a show through even if it means I have to slam the fast forward button. I do value the opinion of others. It’s great to know I align with Sky’s frustration over the plot setup and I align with your conclusion that it was still a worthwhile watch once you push through the first few episodes. Thanks for sharing.
I add to that though this show has great potential and the comic book portions were done well and the transition of ML and FL from RW to comic back to RW were done interestingly. The script simply needed clean up as to the antagonists’ character intro, climax and fall. It was handled haphazardly with way too much emotion and not enough logic.

Yeah. I’ve been forwarding delusional antagonist parts. I’m really enjoying the comic book world though. Although, she has spent so much bonding time with SL that I don’t even know why she likes ML except for the concept of what he represents (her dream of being with the CEO). I’m already feeling bad for SL - we all know what’s going to happen to the poor guy =(
This show is asking ALOT from me in the way of suspension of disbelief. Like there are no cops or investigations into shady matters? Antagonist is just crazy. Not one of those smart plotting villains. Ugh. I was expecting more from the high ratings. Only on ep. 2. Maybe it’ll get better.
Im only at ep 4 but it still doesnt spark joy. This is disappointing. The leads doesn't have chemistry. And the…
We’re now applying Marie Kondo’s theories to dramas. Lol. Love it! Now if I could actually live by the “spark joy” idea, I wouldn’t have so much clutter at home or on mydramalist *sigh*
I thought the ratings were possibly bad because the subs were done poorly (thankful as I am to whoever even attempted it). The drama started out with good intentions and strong FL who still has great chemistry w/ ML from the get go. But it soon becomes repetitive and loses focus. Even the romance aspect falls off. After seeing Aaron Deng in Professional Single, I was expecting much more from the OTP. Ending was horrendous.
So much respect. Just on ep. 2 and not only does FL call out FSL as a “fan girl” but then doesn’t get dragged away as ML pulls the wrist-grab move. *applause for writer*

I swear I wasn’t going to write anything under Basketball Loveball but now I have to leave my mark. Lol
