I often rewind to re-watch romantic moments, but this is the first time I hit rewind to rewatch ML tell SFL off when she was getting in the way. Winning!
Ep. 11/12 - what is her reason for writing the book about her and the doc? I don’t understand how it “upheld” her dignity or made the situation any better.
Ep. 5 and not a sign of chemistry. I have watched many hate turns to live drama (most have that touch) and there’s always some sense of chemistry, even while bickering. Also, how do I not see any positives to FL? She lies, she’s greedy, shes manipulative, and she’s not the brightest. MLS not much better. Might have to drop this if things don’t get any better. How is this rated above 8?
The other name for this drama is “I Don’t Know How To Communicate Like A Grown Adult!” The sheer amount of miscommunication...so many eye rolls from me. Can we have contract marriage drama minus stupid misunderstandings, please?
That was far too long. Toward the middle you barely got OTP screen time and this was truly one drama where not only was chemistry on point, but they had a mature and committed relationship. The business stuff got boring and the bad guys were obnoxious. The last 10-15 episodes you could tell they were stretching for story line. The very last few episodes though, you get the sweetest OTP moments. So watch it for ML and FL but be ready to hit that fast forward button...ALOT ;)
Action - romance - business - sabotage - business - daddy issues - business - sabotage - business - romance (OMG, they’re so cute!!) - (oh wait back to...) business - sabotage - business - romance - sabotage (evil lurking) - daddy issue - sabotage - romance - business - BORED BORED FAST-FORWARD. This drama is seriously way too long and it’s rehashing this same cycle of success followed by underhanded schemes of antagonist. By ep. 33, I’m scrubbing through whole episodes.
Aside from my little grievances below, this was quite the surprise. It was a nice balance of fluff while still maintaining a storyline. The plot holes were not glaring and the writer tried to wrap it at a good pace.
ML’s acting really stood out as I think he is fairly new on the scene. Fireworks scene toward the end exploded my heart to pieces for him. Oh and when he meets ...for the first time in ep.23. Gah. The feels. I also liked the character and actress for He Ruo Yao.
Romance was there all throughout but don’t expect in your face romance with super kissy scenes. The chemistry was good. I would recommend it.
How does she not seem conflicted at all by the Young Lord’s request for her to go with him? She briefly mentions…
Also, how does she never look sad when she’s separated from ML? When she was at the Bai after leaving ML with crazy childhood crush, she was prancing about and now she’s about to go away with Young Lord and she’s happily chatting about food and being her usual ditzy self. Suddenly really having a hard time connecting with FL.
This was cute, fluffy...I was really enjoying it...and then ep. 18 happened and I was left scratching my head...
How does she not seem conflicted at all by the Young Lord’s request for her to go with him? She briefly mentions that the Zhou house may be brought down by the Lord but I would have liked to see a little more conflicting emotions. She easily gave up on their relationship when ML’s past lover came back and she is doing the same again. I hope we see more fight in her for the relationship like ML has shown.
Or does he realize what happened before ep. 18? Ugh. This is going to take forever.

Have you seen Flower of Evil? I enjoyed that one. Lee Joon Gi drama for the win!
