19th episode and ughhhhhhhhhhhh. I was literally enamored by this for the first 12 episodes. So why in the world am I rolling my eyes during the recent episodes??? What happened and why did it have to happen?!? The reason I am continuing to watch - only 5 episodes left and Nana is really pretty. Seeing her for the first time and wow...I am gonna be looking forward to her future works.

I cannot, for the life of me, accept Li's reason of hatred and that being his motivation thus far. That guy has some serious mental issues, is unhealthily obsessed with Shen and needs help. Everything about this drama is good except the villain 🤦♀️
I enjoyed the performance of both of our leads but the story let me down...Maybe I was expecting too much or something too different, but in my opinion, the story could have been a little shorter and better fleshed out. It felt like they tried to do something different, yet, halfway through gave up on it. Overall: Good but nothing special. Worth a try though!
Weird? For sure. Still somehow good? Yes. Let me assure you that I don't even know why I don't like it, despite it being something very different than what I usually enjoy. I think its one of those works that if you like it, then you just do...without any reasons. Ofc, not for everyone though.
It seems the director is a bit lazy when it comes to elaborating. I noticed that some supposedly intense and emotional…
Even I haven't watched the anime, but I do blame the director and editing. The moment I start getting invested in a scene...bam! scene change. And of course, I do blame my high expectations 🫥
Completed till episode 14 and my thoughts: I waited almost a year for this Drama and honestly, it's disappointing. Yes, it's not as bad as few previous comments make it out to be, but it's not as engaging as I would expect from a star studded drama with this kind of hefty budget. The production and everything made it really pretty, but that's about it. The story lacks that excitement and 'wow' factor that xianxia and wuxia dramas capitalize on to engage viewers. In dramas of similar genre, I usually find myself feeling a range of emotions together with the characters, but here, I am unable to emotionally invest myself. Instead, I find myself wondering just how many years ago was this filmed, because few actors, who I have seen better performances from, fail to adequately deliver here. I will not drop this drama tho, call it my stubbornness in believing that it will engage me at some point...but so far, not amazing.
P.s. This my personal opinion and I would appreciate if no one bashes me for it.
The cinematography was honestly beautiful from the start to finish and acting was amazing by the cast. The story, however, started strong but started losing me from some point. I agree with most past comments, it had a lot of potential but by the end of it, it became a movie that I will remember as average.
I was of course extremely happy abt our main couple finally getting together...But, BUT! Wth was the scene with the two managers!! How the hell am I supposed to get it out of my head and continue the pure, fluffy romance of the main couple?!?! I need a series with them as the main couple...ASAP!
Rewatching it..and its just as good as I remember. But I do agree (I think someone wrote a comment abt it previously) that an explanation as to when Cake started falling for Eiw would be nice. Its like...after he returns, he suddenly becomes possessive, from a romantic angle, over Eiw. Not a critique or complaint, but an explanation or a scene which shows the change in his feelings would have been nice.
Its been so long since I smiled through all episodes (till ep 6) of a Thai BL drama. It is sooo cute and sweet but skillfully dodges cringy elements. The actors are new and thus, there is room for improvement but what they are presenting on the screen is in no way bad...they are better than some Thai BL actors I have seen for sometime now. Fingers Crossed! Hope it continues to be as good :)
The trailer was one of the best things I have ever seen !!! I love Minghao...love how he looked in past historical dramas, but this! This is perfection!! He looks totally in his element! *squealing sounds* I want to watch this ASAP!!! Please iQiyi, give it to us!!!
Seems like ep 28 will have the FL and her mom talking heart to heart, finally. I hope this means the mom will…
If she still doesnt change...that would make me one miserable audience who will bear through the entire drama just because of YZM and MCH. So fingers crossed! A change in character of the mother is long overdue!
Family is supposed to be a pillar of support, a strength for one to work hard. Yet, MCH's mother robs her off of all of it because of her actions. I genuinely wish they could have toned down the mother's character. But a part of me also knows that I probably wont enjoy the development of this show as much if she was not sooo beyond saving. And of course...Xu Kai! I know he is not the main character...but he looks so amazing!! Of course, its also nice to see Yang Zi in a modern drama where she is not the innocent or young woman, it suits her way better (IN MY OPINION).
Okay...so... I am still recovering from Yuan Lu's death but even without that... BELOW IS MY OPINION.... A LOT LOT LOT of STRESS on the "MY"!
This series was 10/10 for me until episode 34! Yang Ying's character development was amazing and the pacing, story, cast...one of the best I have seen this year. But then, the last 6 episodes came...let us all ignore the unignorable deaths of our Liudao squad, but the pacing of the story??? Is it because I was crying? Did I miss something? Suddenly the pace of the story changed and somehow, (not because of the deaths of my favorite ppl...I am certain not because of the deaths) something, which charmed me to this drama and kept me hanging just disappeared. Its as if the writer or something changed and everything started spiraling downwards. Now, the deaths... I genuinely believe they could have been done in a much, much better way. It felt like the writer wanted to kill off ppl and they did so, pretty hastily. I have seen more than thousands of dramas, and most of them had someone or the other dying in it....Sadly, this drama could not present their deaths in a more meaningful way. Half of them had me feeling, "What a waste of the character!" I cried during Yuan Lu's death because of how much I had come to love his adorable character... If it had been someone else, I am 100% sure that my reaction would be, "Really??? Like this...? Sure , then." (basically, no strong feeling of sadness) The ending too...was just not it. Again, I have seen quite a few Chinese historical dramas, and this was a very unsatisfying ending. It feels half hearted. Like, they didnt know how to end it and found something fitting enough. Can't go lower than 8/10...but I genuinely though this would be 10/10 for me...
