She tried to kill him because he was waking up, and if he did, the truth about her being the one behind the hit and run would come to light. Along with her opportunity to take over the company. Money and power. She's not some goddess of vengeance trying to right a wrong.

"Forced to be evil" is a stretch. Because she could have gotten away with the hit and run without trying to wreck the young man's life even more. That was a choice.

I commented earlier in the series that she would have been the better choice for the succession if she weren't so evil, so I certainly see her strengths. But she has to take her actions to the extreme. And that's her undoing.

Kudos to the actor for doing a stellar job. Else we wouldn't be having this argument.

The biggest flaw with the early episodes is all the lines about how "ordinary" Sun looks. Jokes. As if saying it enough times will make us believe it. Lol.

She's not trying to get revenge. She is after money and power. "The car accident and destroying others' lives aside"? The very thing that proves how evil she is? How about trying to kill her father? Shall we put that aside, too?

Dropping this drama at ep 12. The conversation between the two male leads after the 2FL told one off for stalking her and threatened to call the police. "She says she doesn't want to see you and you just give up?" It's complete BS. The writers couldn't even pay lip service to a male character calling out his friend's bad behaviour. I can overlook a lot of things in romcoms, and I would usually skip over this and continue watching, but I saw some femicide stats earlier, and yeah, I just can't.

And you can bet that bitch's reason for hating Prince Ding is something ridiculous.

With Chinese BLs specifically, they tend to be darker and the pace/twists are driven by toxic characters, hence my comment. (I am agreeing with you.)

I think there's a disturbing trend towards toxic characters in BLs. And I'm saying this as someone who watches dark BLs. The problem is when it skews your ability to see the beauty in a show like this, and your idea of excitement is how horrible characters treat each other.
