This drama didn't make any promises to be anything but a cliched romcom. And a cliched romcom it is. Sorry to everyone who's disappointed or annoyed but that's what happens when you project your expectations onto something for what it's not. (And yes, your opinion is valid, etc etc.)
I, for one, am still loving this, flaws and all. The ML sister and 2FL brother and badly written. But I can see why the writer wouldn't fully commit given the tone of the drama. So they just end up looking pitiful without enough vim to inspire the kind of hate the characters should.
That slap though. I haven't seen a makjang slap in a good while.
The answer to your question is beauty. He's a pretty man.
There doesn't need to be something more substantial. The writing just needs to convince viewers that it's enough. It's failing at that though (if my answer is indeed the right one).
Ah to be young and...foolish? Chasing after a man who's in love with someone else and hasn't given a single sign that he might be interested in you is the stuff we bash 2FLs for. But the 2FL here is cute and not evil so she gets a pass, I guess. Still foolish imo.
And we're so back. Not the most satisfactory resolution but I love how intense the ML is. His pettiness? Deserved. That man has been through a lot. The balance between the comedy and the serious bits still good. Can't wait for tomorrow's episode. We should get to see Darim shed some of her restraint. No peep from the selfish younger sister yet.
(I hope it comes out that ML's sister created the team to be stumbling block. Much as Darim ended up doing a good job, only reason she got it was because of the sister's actions. She was unqualified wouldn't have been hired in the first place. Even with the fake wife/mother thing.)
When you talk about gaslighting, pull up a clip of FX on his knees trying to convince Shulang he's just being paranoid. A lesser man would have fallen for it.
Oh boy. You don't want me analysing the drama. Be brash all you want but you dislike it and that's all that matters to you. I watched all 16 episode. The payoff is worth it objectively.
Started this a while ago and dropped it at ep 1. Started watching again recently and my goodness this is a gem. The writing is exquisite. It'll probably take me a couple weeks to finish and I plan to enjoy this and stretch it out as long as possible.
Objectively, the payoff is in fact worth it. But we're not all objective, are we? And that's okay. I hope you dropped it and went onto something more your taste.

ML's sister though is such an idiot. If not for the fact that she should be the heir I'd be hoping for her downfall.
Aside from a few iffy transitions, this is a good show.
