I'm glad he got to experience this character and work with more seasoned actors and with a dialect coach. It's the smart actor who knows they don't have to be the lead every time and carry the drama. Especially one so young. It's all a part of growth. He has a lot of promise, and I look forward to seeing him in future roles.

You have answered my question and I can now look out for these things if I rewatch the intro. GenAI is rotten at its core, uses up too much of the earth's natural resources, is backed by oligarchs and was developed using the work of thousands of people who did not give permission or receive compensation. And it is copying from more than just the big studios. Pick a random semi-popular artist and ask GenAI to create in that style and it will replicate it. Your assumption of my ignorance based on a clearly articulated questions is silly.

And I am in fact blind to these differences (unless they're super obvious) and refuse to accept anything I see these days as either artist-made or AI until I have definitive information (for good reason). It's not a poor choice of words. Its me knowing my limitations and stating them.

FYI, GenAI use is treated as the next big tech/creative frontier in Korea and there is very little pushback so corporations like TVN will continue to use it if it saves them a buck. Capitalism doesn't give a fuck about artistic integrity.

This is real good so far.

Didn't even know this was a remake and went into it blind. Kind of saw the end coming but it still left me teary-eyed. It was beautifully told and poignant. Worth the watch. And of course the leads were super believable as their characters. Good actors both.

I'm sorry you disliked it. I loved it. I enjoy dramas that have plenty of "drama" and don't require too much of my mind to process the plot but has shock value and hateful characters. MMH actually brought me out of a kdrama slump, I liked it that much. And Perfect Marriage Revenge.

I am a little blind about such things and that intro looked like a perfectly simple animation. What marks it as GenAI? Because I followed the link and nobody actually mentions any markers. Also want to mention that I work in the creative field and the number of artists and writers who are being accused of using GenAI for work they did themselves is increasing at an alarming rate so I have to interrogate GenAI claims.

Have to watch this for the sister from Marry My Husband. Like her so much.

That fight was so badly handled I wanted to tear out my hair. And I'm bald. It would have made more sense if they were letting out all the frustration of their toxic friendship but they had to add dialogue and make it about a love interest. WHY?????

And Jira is written as a terrible friend my goodness. Ing basically exists to talk him off the ledge about some foolishness he's up to. Was there a scene with the both of them where it wasn't about him? She has a fucking friend but she had to go to the bar to talk to someone about her work worries? I know someone like Jira irl and they have managed to run off most of the people who care about them because it gets too much and you just end up loving them from a distance.

Also, when you reject someone, shouldn't they get some breathing space to deal with their feelings and get over you before you force friendship on them and start asking them to do things for you? Like WTF?

Pheem might have been a fuckboi but we didn't see him hurt anybody. The other two on the other hand? ugh.

Final thoughts - had great promise. Did not deliver. They tried to do something with AI vs art but it did not quite land. Still going to give it an above average rating just because I enjoyed a lot of it minus my critique.

Someone needs to deliver gmmtv from the hell of "happy endings". The possibilities if the leads didn't have to end up with each other? Endless and a lot more interesting.

Rewatching this show and it holds up like mad.

Enjoyed this for the most part. Loved the leads. Did not see the killer coming. Unsatisfied by the redemption arc for the mother. When will a kdrama give a terrible parent the ending they actually deserve?

Came to read the comments while watching and I think I'll leave 4/4 for later.

The second the argument shifts from content/context to tone policing you know you're not getting through. I admire your staying power though.

The narrative of AI superiority is being pushed by businessmen trying to make a buck. None of the arguments I have seen hold up. I've been told my skills will become obsolete but I am commanding higher fees than ever before because people are actually willing to pay more for the human touch even though there are countless AI tools that can supposedly do what I do better than me. It's a joke.

Look around the world. Human judgement is in the pits. Thankfully there is resistance and maybe one day soon we'll see real progress.

Say anything about this story but the chemistry between the leads? Goodness. The absence of a long NC scene doesn't bother me in the least cos just having those two onscreen is so satisfying to watch.

Such a good drama. Worth watching. Go Youn Jung outdid herself. She's going to be one heck of an actor with more experience.
