What the entire fuck??? Between painting a target on Hyoshim's back and kissing her without consent, TM has entered his villain era. What manner of delusion is this? Hyoshim managed to get some small respite this episode but in swoops Mr Nice Guy to ruin everything.
Not mad that the mum took care of the debt with that watch. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Let him get a taste of what his sister has to put up with.
I had a lot of hope for newscaster babe but her lack of pride is making me cringe.
This creep FORCED a kiss on her, which was entirely non-consensual and very uncomfortable to watch. Big difference.…
Nah. That boss does not have a filter. A client quit because he likes a trainer? The rumour mill will work overtime and before you know it Hyo-shim is a seductress who chases away clients. It'll ruin her reputation.
The pacing of this drama is excellent. No second wasted. Blink and miss something. Don't know if it's the actor's quirk or the character's quirk but the way Yi Joo widens her eyes is a little unsettling. Like a perpetual surprised look even when the emotion isn't surprise.
Curious to see how they wrap up all the loose ends + the time travel bit.
Yeah I was a bit thrown off by My Demon too for the same reasons as you even though I'm not Christian. Another…
Went back to rewatch that scene and she made that comment looking at the video of her brother and SIL. They look "unkempt" and are on an actual alpaca farm. Not sure how that's racist when her comment is directed at them and not the country/people. Happy to be corrected.
Now if you talk about being classist and dismissive? Yes she was. Which is consistent with her character. She roasted everybody at that party.
My only hope is that people who dislike Song Kang's acting leave this drama well alone.
That said, pretty basic start. It's a story we've seen many times before. And the story will probably unfold in the same way. Even the side characters are not new. But, I'm a sucker for supernatural romcoms so I'm about to ignore every cliche and plot hole and enjoy the hell out of this drama. There will be no objectivity from this point on.
Started enjoying this from ep 3. It doesn't take itself too seriously (or maybe that's me not taking it too seriously). I'm pretty invested in how all the women of marriageable age end up from the sister-in-law to the three sisters to Son-duk. Hope the king supports the man of anger to the end and doesn't become another stumbling block to him.
In the past they woul be expected to do stuff with the first signs of puberty. That was a fact, but not something…
This isn't a documentary though. Or based on actual events. It's not pathetic or weak to be uncomfortable with something immoral/criminal even if the setting is historical.
What's truly pathetic is one's moral compass tied to some half-assed idea of mental strength that is based on being able to bear with horrible things because "that's how it used to be". Tueh.
Lots of sparks flowing between the leads. I appreciate chemistry that isn't dependent on NC scenes. The use of flashbacks wasn't perfect and it ones that were repeated weren't necessary but overall, it worked with the plot.
Overall, not mindblowing but something simple and sweet and undemanding. If you're looking for a Semantic Error, this is not it. More like A Shoulder to Cry On.
The look on that man's face. Did he think his kids would remain the little boys he could beat up and push around? Didn't it occur to him that they're now adults and can take him in a physical fight? Of course in kdrama fashion, the bad guy might be extra strong until the writer decides it is time for the good guys to win.
I saw it MANY times that if a Kdrama isn't straightforward and don't say things out loud, they NEVER understand…
Might not use the same words but yeah. It's frustrating to see viewers insult drama writers because a character is multi-dimensional and does something that doesn't fit their linear view of the character even when said thing it consistent with character behaviour or has been subtly hinted at by in the plot.
Nothing wrong with finding cute boys interesting though. Eye candy is fantastic.
Wanted to reach into the screen and pull that duvet down. If you're going to be shirtless, be shirtless. Flaunt all that hard work. Tae-ho is gone gone gone. And tbh he's the only useful man in her life rn. Tae-min cannot see beyond his delusions to the ways he can actually be there for her. Did I see in the preview he was scolding Tae-ho for giving her the gig? Urgh.
The mum is a terrible parent, not just for how she treats Hyo-shim but for how she raised her last two sons. Just terrible.
Looking forward to more whipped Tae-ho although I'm guessing it'll just be bits and pieces for now.
