Ratings (in Korea) are not holding up. Saturday Nielsen (nationwide) was 14.5% - down from 15.5% last week.I’ve…
His mother just died and he turned to alcohol. Plus the guilt he bears for his mother's death. And to address PTSD/abuse, which person in his life will be the anchor point? His witch of a wife? The son who is stuck in his own delusions? The assistant manager or whatever his role is who spends more time in his wife's bedroom than anywhere else? A therapist isn't going to fall out of the sky. The writers are staying true to the character/plot. Also, consider that this is a Korean drama, a country with a huge prejudice against mental health issues. It'll be more surprising to see the writers address it head-on.

Title Perfect Marriage Revenge Spoiler
The women in Seo Do Guk's life are premium. Love his mum and grandmum so much.

I knew there were going to be comments about where the contract was. The contract was in an envelope in a drawer inside her closed bedroom in a house she lives in with the other party to the contract. The contract was safe enough where it was. Viewers tend to forget that while they have an omniscient view of a drama, the characters have a limited view. Calling the writers stupid for having the characters act true to their limitations is silly af.

That said, the way the ex got into the house, and the use of "enemy finds incriminating document" had me rolling my eyes. But this is a brilliant show so far and I'm not not going to get hung up over the use of a trope.

Seeing comments shocked by the NC scenes. The trailer was pretty clear and the number of times "sex" is used in the drama summary? Lol. It is going to be a sausage fest every episode.

Will watch this for the acting. It's not business as usual that's for sure. Super curious for when Charlie shows his real face. If he pulls it off, I'll consider this a success. I hope the villains aren't caricatures as well and if there are fight scenes, please let them be good.

Guess they heard all the complaints about draggy dramas and decided to drive off at top speed. Problem is that it's so fast it's leaving viewers cold. I won't remember this drama in a month.

The portrayal of the justice system is so exaggerated it's almost comical. Yes it's fiction but it has to be believable and it's not. For me, though.

I can't quite put my finger on it yet but something is missing. I'm not sure what the writer intends to achieve with these characters. They're too one-dimensional. I can't feel the main character's empathy for the victims who are supposedly his raison d'être. There is no finesse to anything he does. I don't love or hate him. I'm just perplexed. The journalist is also another one, but I detest that character so there's that at least.

This drama certainly plucked all the right heartstrings. A few plot holes but tbh they're minor compared to how well everything else was handled. For once, I'm happy about a tidy ending. Cheong Ah's dad also earned his redemption arc. Will miss all the kids.

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha aired from Aug 28, 2021 - Oct 17, 2021. This show aired from Apr 9, 2022 - Jun 12, 2022.

Unless you're saying they wrote, cast and shot this in six months, you're right about imagining things.

i know the writer is playing the long haul with its 50 eps but i am growing a bit annoyed with the one step forward…
I've not hit annoyance yet maybe because I expect Hyo-shim's breaking point to come after plenty of pile-ons. What I'd hate to see mid-drama is her breaking away completely and the writers dragging her back in.

Tae-ho has already caught feelings, no? Dude is gone and he knows it.

The gym seems to be a very social place for the oldies and less about working out. So I can see how they'll be their early to catch all the gossip.

I'm ready to fight anybody who talks smack about Hyo-shim. Square up.

Also, a reminder that this is a 50-ep drama and if the characters do everything you want them to do RIGHT NOW, you'll have a 12-ep drama. So relax and enjoy (or fast-forward) the fillers and sub-plots.

I'm so mad that more trouble is coming for Hyo-shim. My babe is just living her life and trying her best and the stupid men in her life (including the one forcing his way in) are putting a target on her back. I refuse to waste my breath on the mum. She's trash.

Might be a reach but super brat might end up pregnant. Characters have gotten pregnant doing less than hugging a boy under a tree. 😂

Nothing wrong with fair criticism, thats how things get better. The problem is when people take that personal…
Your response makes it seem like I'm saying dramas shouldn't be criticized at all. I'm not.

Any criticism will be taken badly by someone who has decided their favoured show does not have faults. You cannot control that. You only have control over your responses. A lot of the "attacks" and "counter-attacks" on MDL are driven by ego. "You're so stupid you can't see this show is horrible." "You're acting all superior and think your taste is better than mine."

MDL isn't worse or better than any platform where people can freely share their views. You can decide to take the bad with the good (and there is a lot of good) and chill the fuck out. Or, you can decide to be combative and go to war with "toxic fans/supporters".

Either way, nobody can take away your right to share your opinions so long as you have a functional account.

"We should relax, enjoy things without being overly critical, and let people love what they love without judgment. It's about finding a balance between analyzing and appreciating. Happy drama watching!" I don't think a lot of the commenters saw this part. :)

"Why was I watching dramas in the first place? Oh right, it was to be entertained..." Exactly. But you get attached sometimes. And that's okay. It's perfectly human and normal. I came to dramas from books and it's not much different. Or in music fandoms. The same quarrels and arguments rehashed for years, and the same insults tossed about.

This was a really good read. Well done.

Would you maybe also give grace to younger people who are passionate about the things they love? (Whether it's an actor, a fictional character or a film.)

I think it's great when someone cares enough to critique creative work. I also think it's great that people care so much about creative work to defend with vim. The problem happens when either of these things doesn't come from a place of care. It is read as dismissive and trouble erupts.
