This is exactly what I ordered. From the moment I watched the trailer, I knew it was going to have all the romcom cliches (including a thousand scenes of trip, fall and catch). Really needed something light and cute. I just hope it doesn't get too heavy and angsty in the middle.

My current prayer is that everyone who finds this drama boring drops it. 🙏

The preview has everyone losing their shit. Lol. Guess we'll soon find out what that is about.

I like the pharmacist lady and I'm rooting for her. She's going after a man in an open relationship whose wife is dating someone else (she's not watching the drama with us to know it's fake). Don't know why she's getting hate.

Can't fully get behind the sanctification of Grandma yet but she still has a lot of time to make up for her treatment of TK. She's still mean af to people she doesn't like and is only mellow with OYD and TK because they know her secret. Won't make sense for her to be a nice old lady.

I'm going to be so mad when the writers make Ji Myung and Hyun Woo reconcile. Bleh. She's such a bitch and an unkind person. There's no backstory that justifies the way she treats her stepmum, OYD and TK and pretty much anyone she considers beneath her.

Do dramas like this scare me? Yes. Will I still watch dramas like this? Hell, yes.

Solid first episode. Let's see how the story develops.

I honestly doubt the writers put this much rigour into the character but it's nice you took time to humanise Pat a little more. Personally, I prefer to be spoon-fed my characters; depend on the filmmakers to tell/show/imply everything they think is important for me to know.

ps: my comment was a response to Pat saying it doesn't make sense for Jeng to like him.

Pat is low key a spoilt brat fr.
High-key. He is self-indulgent so that "I focused on everyone but myself" bit was off.

It does not make sense to us either, Pat. But it makes sense to Jeng and that's all that matters.

Yes Ben needs to improve his acting but this is his first job, give him a break. You remember your first job,…
There are too many first-time actors in BLs that even if they didn't wow, still showed a spark of talent. Ben is a log of wood with one facial expression. He moves his body where it needs to go but that's about it. It's going to take a whole lot of kindling and matches to get a fire going.

It's not unhealthy either. I truly believe that defense mechanisms are a good thing and give one the time to heal. And even if eventually you decide romantic relationships and not something you want to pursue, that's fine also. You can have a life full of love. Doesn't have to be romantic.

Title The Good Bad Mother Spoiler
The title is apt because Jin Young Soon was as bad a mother as she was good a mother. Her intent does not erase the fact that she was abusive to Kanghoon as a child and as an adult. Even if she had lived and spent the rest of her life making it up to him, it wouldn't have been enough. That said, her redemption arc is one I can get behind. Ra Mi Ran is a good actor and I'd really like to see her in more lead roles that are non-maternal. I can only dream.

The entire cast had great chemistry and the child actors were near perfect. I wasn't completely satisfied with the final courtroom scene (it was a rushed travesty) but when his mum stood up and shouted "Manse", the rush of emotions I felt did away with any objectivity I might have had. And that's good writing for me: the ability to reach your audience in such a way that they're willing to suspend disbelief.

I'm pretty sure the "it's popular so I have to say it's overrated" crew will be all over this cs in the coming days but this drama is worth watching and deserves every point of the current rating, whatever its faults.

Chot is a pleasure to watch. OTT characters can be cringe but he's pulling it off so well because he can actually act.

Title Doctor Cha Spoiler
I couldn't have envisioned a better ending for Dr Cha. I watched this drama for her and her alone. (Okay that's a lie. Roy Kim has the most beautiful eyes.) Cha put her life on hold to raise her family, cater to every whim of her husband and MIL, and do her best to keep the peace. By the end of the drama, she's divorced, has her own practice, is giving back to society and doing things she enjoys, all on her own terms. That's a pretty fantastic character arc for me.

Don't know why the romance tag is there. That was pretty misleading.

They didn't get married right after she had the baby. I can't remember which episode but it was hinted at that they got married 4/5 years after.

I don't know why I waited so long to watch this drama but it was so worth it. I loved the friendships and connections the characters had, even the relationships that seemed toxic. I ended up not really hating any of the characters who hurt others because the drama showed them as human rather than evil.

The relationship between the writer and director is my favourite. I know people a lot of people watch romcoms for passionate off-the-wall romance but the ordinariness of their relationship is so sweet and simple with plenty of funny moments thrown in. I'd like to be friends with them if they were real.

You describe everything I feel about this drama so well. Especially how it gives both heavy and mundane subjects the same treatment.

Ep 33. The man just had brain surgery for goodness' sake. At least allow a little time to let him stabilise. What's the rush? Unsure where the writers are going with this but letting Prof Ren into ICU to administer alternative treatment is not ideal.
