I know the goal is to hate Yin Zhou but his face card brooo
Me too! He is really playing the evil bro role and is slaying it but when I see him all smiley with his servant and has that kinder sweet soft look on his face and his lips slide into a small smile, ahhh, nice....hmm....definitely a wild card character, actor is pulling it off good!

YUP! The writers did a great job on the second couple story! It is almost like its' own stand alone story apart…
are you like me in that a lot of the second couples have better content and more action then the mains storyline? I swear this one has a second couple that could pull off the lead for sure, they killing it!!

On Wishing upon the Shooting Stars May 25, 2026
Binged 1-10 and I am unexpectedly surprised how much I like this series. We know the actors are great :) and when I started it I had that ho-hum feel of 'ok, supernatural, I figured this plot out' lol and the direction went the way I expected. But not boring, it held me with the scenery film local and the dynamics of the characters etc. It's paced well and is a clear view of the supernatural story going down for me so it is interesting. The NC scenes are well directed and fit the feels for both couples. Gave some intensity for the emotions between the characters! Nice job! Then BOOM, that angst of what Hong keeps saying about 'how long will that wish happiness last?' and things start to turn and get more hyper, more emotional and it is refreshing to have the back half of a series start to ramp up, hold my interest and keep me hooked like this so I am having a real good time with this story!! Really enjoyable. Can't wait for the last 2 eps to see what goes down for all. Fun time on this one!!

Who said soulmates is a romantic kind of bond?
Yup, how we view that term soulmate is gonna make your vibes for the story be set in a certain context as you watch I guess. I watched wanting to see that more true love/romance connection but I didn't feel it, but I did get they were forever diehard bromance and would always have a connection too and protect each other etc. so the series was really entertaining for me tho

Yea agree with your post. I have that 'underlying true love, real romance' connected to the word soulmate. But I sure can see others putting soulmate as a connection so deep for understanding that doesn't contain real romantic love for each other as what one would tag it too. I think of that as kinda '2 peas in a pod' when 2 connect on a level they think the same without any romance.

Finished 1-8 and have 2 eps left to finale. It's good but honestly I like the second couple way better than the main. Kinda dull in a way but just enough action to keep me interested. Actors are good, story is rolling along easily, wish the argument between the mains was resolved earlier so we could get a feel for what they would be like as a couple but the script keeps them at odds, which annoys me when it goes this long for the main couple. Kiss scenes, boy do they need work--yikes! It's not fun dragging out the angst over so many eps....so switching to who I can get a handle on and enjoy and it's the second couple that shines more for me in this series.

Who said soulmates is a romantic kind of bond?
I do.....I said 'for me' :) specifically my definition of soulmate doesn't fit their relationship at all. I truly felt no real feels between them, especially from Ryu's side of the relationship but I know there was caring involved, love of a best friend etc but I just didn't feel more on it overall and it didn't vibe my personal view of what a soulmate involves. Soulmate is deep on many levels for me which I didn't get from the story, but now if others felt it was soulmate in one own's definition, then so be it but I said for me this fell extremely flat on 'soulmate' but was still a good story.

YUP....?? Behind the scenes working? I see they have nothing new scheduled on MDL list of next projects, and darn they did a lot of series before this last one so? I don't know but I miss them too and like you I can only wish them good careers ahead!

The moment I saw Seiichi's non-narrated scene, I knew he's gonna die🥹🤧We call it Death in the Limelight…
So agree....oh yea the minute he was leaving and whistling all happy and driving I said OH HELL NO, I know he is gonna get....creamed.....and he did. Saw it coming a mile away and I still squeezed my eyes shut a bit when it went down.

Really great series, but I feel like I need some therapy after that. In lieu of taking antidepressants, if anyone…
I worried more about Arata and his recovery and future more than the other 2 LOL Arata got dumped by the wayside way too fast. I felt no good resolution but a very fast wrap up to get him out of the story quickly. I wanted Arata to have a great future but we sure never know what happened to him??

Title Soul Mate
Just finished this and while I liked it kinda overall, the title is misleading for me. I saw no soulmates, I saw a bromance between them only. I didn't feel no deep connection between them to the level of soulmate at all. Deep affection and caring for a best friend, absolutely but soulmate doesn't apply for me on this one. I worried more about Arata and his part of the story thru the whole thing....what happened to his future? Arata captured more than the mains did lol. No big depth when the scenes called for it. Emotional, sad, jarring, yup, but when situations hit like him leaving toward the end there was no real convo about it, just a farewell wave and a stare from the balcony? Nah, it lacked much for me but it also did hold much to watch also. I'm on the fence on this one, I feel it missed it mark by a long shot but also gave us some good scenes from the actors too. oh well....

Absolutely agree. Real fast you can see how Kuji is clinging to him and wanting more and more from Azuma. He is showing that love in his expressions and eyes, so true!

Binged up to ep 7 now. Loving it. Main actors are killing their parts and support cast are holding the series well for me. Yes, I darn near shed a tear at end of ep 7, Azuma was so sad and lost. Awww. One thing unexpected for me is the chill vibe of the story. I was expecting a bit more tension and angst and it hasn't taken that direction. It's holding more toward a real life slow drama of just events unfolding between 2 people. I like that. It's a subtle vibe of calm with a few bits of what our future holds if anything and some drama hitting hard. Enjoying it and hope the last 3 eps to go slay with a great ending!!

Trying not to read comments as I am just starting to binge eps 1-7 to catch up. Ep 1 surprised me on this series. It is mature actors and I love that. It feels adult and it is refreshing to have that tone thru a series right out of the gate. (doesn't feel like a naive 32 yr old who can't date series LOL) So right now I very interested on where this goes....hope somewhere great?

Nope, doesn't look good. Right now it says it is not available for streaming anywhere but darn the trailer is enticing to say the least. Aired in theaters in Japan is all I am seeing on it. Reviews on it were good and when I read the main actor comments about their roles it drew me in even more. I think on this one all one can do is hopefully wait. Thanks a lot, not, now I want to watch this so darn bad lol
