I slept watching GeSun yesterday so let me do some math about them. I've got a formula/phrase for them lol
1+1=11
It means it takes two special 1s to come together and make a strong team with strength of 11! ( A'Sun+ Changge= strongest team) 11 here does not mean kids!
Yicheng was a real character in history. Jinse, fictional. Jinse totally loyal to Yicheng, as Yicheng was a Princess.…
Yes exactly that, they realised what's actually matters in the world and that is what important for us to know about them and the show. I think that was the perfect conclusion. People should realise that the peace thing is part of the ending too. Ending is not just two people standing side by side!
Now that I'm here let me add this small point too. Do you noticed how A'Sun was feeling proud of Changge when Li Jing compliments her in last episode? He says that he cannot believe how much Changge has grown up from being a trouble on horses to this responsible person! And do you realise A'Sun has actually seen her growing from that point to this? He first saw her when she was on streets on her horse and then the rest of the journey with her. He's aware of just everything about her, what affected her, how much it affected her and what are the exact events which led to particular changes in her.
I have an angle to add, bcoz I've just rewatched these episodes. Alir's death episode opens up this new side to…
I totally agree with this statement that Changge's character is deliberate and so are the other characters! Everything is deliberate to showcase the strength, weakness, limits, range of a humans. We are all limited in one aspect or the other. Strongest, stronger, strong and weak exist, this type of ranges.
About your question, I seriously don't know. What I know is that you are enemy for the other side and the other…
I liked this question... What if Changge has succeeded? It would have flipped everything and She would have loose the position of the main protagonist most probably. Some one then had to take her place leading the story towards atleast some conclusion. Grasslands and Tang would have been merged then. I'm appreciating the writers more now. They paid attention to where and how to bring changes in the personalities of every character. I'm enjoying this convo with you. Thanks

He definitely CHOSE to do it. The time period was full of wars and with it comes a lot of things. Some ethically fight it, some don't. This saying that, “everything is fair in war and love”. I don't know how much right or wrong it is and I think I cannot decide either keeping it within this time period. Every warrior fought differently. War involves killing...idk if there's anything ethical about it and killings are only the direct consequence with it comes violence against women, children and complete wipe out of cultures.....

I think, A'Sun would have find a way out somehow, his personality won't allow him to be caged for that long and addition of Changge in his life added a strength. They would ultimately have saved Alir. Ifs and buts have no end. We can come up with one scenario after other. There are endless possibilities and the question is would that have been interesting for viewers to watch?

Or doing something you never wanted to do making you angry and frustrated with yourself. For you there was no way out, for others you are absolutely wrong.

I'm human too. I do understand the complexities, there is no single answer or single right answer. Things does not work one dimensionally. Everyone's solution to these situation is bound to be different. Under these circumstances, my right might not be your right and vice versa. There's a possibility that we might never understand each other's perspective at all.
In connection with Kaju's point about loyalty, A'Sun was loyal to the Khan. And very obedient to him as a leader…
About your question, I seriously don't know. What I know is that you are enemy for the other side and the other side is your enemy, and you are only loyal to your country. Well do we have a straight answer? They all are complex being, swimming in the grey spectrum. Was Changge right everytime? I love it how complex it becomes when you try to enter deeper. There's never a single layer to it, can never be.

I have an angle to add, bcoz I've just rewatched these episodes. Alir's death episode opens up this new side to Sun, till this tragic moment we were made to believe and might be right to believe that A'Sun can do anything for his country, all the killings, scheming, plotting everything. From the start, he came across as an enemy which won't be budged. He was spying against Tang in Changan spreading rumors to disrupt the already fragile situation. He went ahead with Great Khan for assassination despite Changge being against it. There are scenes where MuJin reacts in a way that reveals to us what Sun is doing is not out of his own will. Was he cruel ever? We saw a glimpse of other A'Sun when he saved the child in cuju game. After Alir's death we came to know that she was just an hostage to keep A'Sun in check, to govern his each and every move. We have seen A'Sun pondering over these things a lot. I think after this tragedy in his life he let it all out, what he actually wanted, peace. He did not waste even a second to declare what he wishes for and how futile was his efforts to keep her safe. He got nothing in return complying with Khan's tent, neither his mother nor the peace. His speech around Alir's body reflect a lot of his inner workings which were hidden from us to an extent. He gave it up all then, he was ready to give up his position as Tegin. Alir's death and Changge being away opens up this side of him.

Now go laugh.
