Bad news. Amazon put it into two seasons. Five in the first and three in the second. I have no idea why this was done because it's no way eight episodes cover 60 episodes.
It was worth the wait. I've never seen Kim Jae Won play a true villian before. I must say he did an excellent job. It was hard not to side with him considering what those "people" did to him and the other children. I know Ryu Deok Hwan is on the short side and no one else was especially tall but Kim Jae Won seemed huge when standing next to people. Not sure if it was the hair or just the way he played the part.
There were actually three Darkers I was thinking two . I knew it was a man and a woman but I kept switching between Xue Tian and Du Mingquiang . I thought one of them was going to be a red herring, I have to say that the revelation of the woman surprised me. So Xue Tian is going to take the fall as the lone Darker and I guess for whatever reason Luo Fei went along with it. I do have a question. What happened to the real Xue Tian?
Was this actually split up into two parts? I noticed at episode 36 or 37 there is a new opening with more characters and some of the current characters being pushed down the list.
Let's not forget about the business that have been around for 50+ years really did not know how to function until the happy, cheery female lead enters the scene. She always has all the fresh ideas while others just sit around doing nothing. When she leaves the company that has thousands of employees and different outlets it's felt from the bottom to the the top. How does the company survive?
Or when a character has someone he/she hates number in their contacts. If the characters are not related or work together in any way why would you have their number?
This last one I'm not too sure about because something could be lost in translation. Come to think of it may not be regulated to just Korean dramas. When someone is told that a character just went to the hospital the person races to the hospital. I live in a large city and I can name 5 five hospitals right off my head. I need a name.
Good movie. One of those where at a certain point you think you know what is happening only to be proven wrong. A little convoluted plot twist but I went along with it.
Good show. Maybe because I am older, heck I am older than the leads, I enjoyed Sang Tae and Mi Jung the most. I mean how often do you see a drama where the main focus is on a couple over 35 and each have kids from a previous marriage? Usually dramas start with the parents then centers on young couples. This was a nice change of pace. After that it was the kids but I thought more focus could have been on them working to get along as a family. As far as I was concerned the second lead couple offered nothing we haven't seen before and for me they weren't the saving grace of this drama. The in-laws were bearable there was no evil incarnate mother-in-law which was good. I just watched I Love You with Ahn Jae Wook and Park Hye Sook where they played mother-in-law and son-in-law. It was nice to see them playing mother and son in this drama.
Where did you guys watch this? It looks really interesting. Also, are the subs just bad (like you get the idea,…
Sometimes you have to make sure you remember what character is being talked about because often times the wrong pronoun would be used. I do not think it was a direct Korean to English translation so sometimes you may see words or a phrase in another language. I did put it on hold because it can get kind of frustrating watching it episode after episode. If none of this is a problem give it try because it seems good.
I am in agreement with you on this drama. Some people found the story slow but for me the pace was just right. One thing that I really liked was that it showed conflict within the same studio. You had two different news programs telling the same story but in two different ways and trying to be number one. Often times it's two different channels going at it trying to be number one. I will admit that it took me awhile to watch it because Kim Joo Hyuk was one of my favorite actors and his death was still too fresh. But I am glad I finally was able to watch it.
I truthfully had no problems with the drama other than why they went in the direction they did with a certain character. I am at the point that when it comes to Korean dramas to just wait and see what happens and I wont be disappointed. To me this was a typical Korean drama. I did not go into the drama thinking it is going to be epic and put all other dramas to shame. I also thought the the leads were compatible. As I get older I do not need the lead the lead couple to all full of fluffy cuteness or steaming hot.
