Not sure I missed it but was it explained why Khondiao did not know who Yi's sisters were? I mean they knew each other for close to two decades how could he not know them? Even if they lived in another country there should have been some type of picture of them.
Was this a novel or were major scenes cut from the Boss Yu and Executive Zhan storyline? While I am certain Executive Zhan had feelings for Boss Yu I never felt like Boss Yu was deeply in love with Executive Zhan. So it was hard for me to view their relationship as some epic tragic love affair. Maybe it was the actor who portrayed Boss Yu. To me he had the same expression and emotion for everyone he came in contact with. I did not see anything special when it came to Executive Zhan.
Why was the editing so bad and the ending rushed? Was this one of those dramas that had to cut episodes under China's new law? I have not read book or watched the early 2000 version but am to assume Hong Cai was messing with his daughter? There was a scene where you saw her leaving a room and running up the stairs behind Man Lu's back but after that there was nothing. Also I got the idea that the loving older was not opposed to her husband raping her beloved sister if it ended with her getting pregnant. I thought there was supposed to be a ten year gap. Did I miss it? CN Drama does not translate writings on the screen so maybe it did happen. If it did it seemed more like a 10 day or 10 month gap. Not sure if it was the actresses or it was wriiten this way but the sister love seemed more on Man Zhen's side. Besides Man Lu trying to get her sister out of jail I just did not feel sister love from her. She knew Hong Cai lusted after her sister but she was indifferent to it. When she did do or say something it was not serious or it came off as jealousy.
Did something happen to Zhu Yi Long during the later episodes? I can understand the facial switch for a couple of scenes but the switch lasted several episodes. Was he filming something else?
I was born in 70s too... and I'm Italian. I began to see Korean and Asian dramas in the past. I think that Tae…
To me I think part of the problem may be once you get into something new you want to gobble up everything you may have missed. In a span of a month you have watched 50 dramas, exaggeration but you know what I mean, because it is new, different and exciting. But as time goes on you notice the plots are somewhat the same and depending on how many episodes you know where the story arcs are going to happened. So it's no wonder why you start to watch less or give up on it for awhile. Sort of comes under "Been there, done that.".
With China's new rule that dramas can not be over 40 episodes I wonder how they will do this and other dramas. Will they be shown in seasons or will they actually cut episodes down to 40.
I think it is just about changing over time. Not sure why American/Western TV has to be brought into this as a negative. American/Western TV itself has changed over the years. Even though I was born in 70s I watched TV from the 50s and 60s and a lot of them were about family and all that warm stuff that goes along with it. I think it was around the 90s (To someone older it could be a different decade.) where things started to change but to me it wasn't all for the bad just different. Since I am American I can only speak about American shows but I am sure TV shows in other countries have changed over the years. I might get flack for this but it is what I feel. When it comes to Korean dramas I think we foreigners can kind of come off as if we know what's better for them. Korean writers and directors know that Westerners watch their shows but the main audience is Korea. If a large percentage of the Korean audience has not complained about the changing of Korean TV who are we to complain?
I will admit that I liked it despite getting lost sometimes. I just shrugged my shoulders and watched. I to me awhile to get into Qi Ling's character. I was at the end of one episode when it dawned on me that he was not even in the episode. Joe Cheng does cold and overly emotional real good. Technically Yi Chen died and Qi Ling became Lord VII. At the very end we see Yi Chen is alive so what is he considered now? Does he take one of the Lord spots or is he something else? Also, what does L.O.R.D stand for? Thanks in advance.
Hello I can not find any information on the actress that played Wallace Chung's sister. I'm watching the Stand In and at times the female lead reminds me of the sister. The actress' name is Liu Xiao Xiao and I am wondering if it is the same lady. Does anyone know?
