I'm bored. The only thing that kept me watching this episode was the palace's interior and exterior design details.
Seriously, instead of a reunion with his father and grandfather, Khanin got a formal introduction to them along with the other royals in the royal court? The King literally pointed to Tharin and casually told him, "That's your father" 🙄 I mean, the look Prince Wasin gave Khanin was much warmer than the looks he got from Tharin and the King. Either this is atrocious writing or Khanin isn't really Tharin's son. I'm beginning to feel that this is all some manipulative game that the King is playing.
However, my bigger issue is with the complete lack of chemistry between Charan and Khanin. I can't believe I'm saying this for ZeeNunew but they are awkward together. I'm blaming the screenplay - it's plastic. Why couldn't Domundi invest in a good screenwriter when it was already spending so much on the sets and costumes?
Jimmy as a hot jerk is 🥵🥵🥵 I can feel it in my bones that JimmyOhm are going to be next big thing in BL world 😍
Not really into GL, but I'm rooting for the Princess to win this competition. Khanin is going to get Charan - that's better than a kingdom 😛
Now for the negatives - this episode didn't do it for me. It was illogical, which I don't mind if there's chemistry and romance, but Charan and Khanin's interactions were quite stilted today. There were so many tropes like forced cohabitation, facing danger together, taking care of injury..... but none of them landed right. Zee is too uptight and Nunew is overdoing it. Hope they find their rhythm in the next episode. I'm here for the ZeeNunew magic, give it to me!!
Okay, this was just a plot setting episode but man, did the screen crackle whenever Charan and Khanin were together!! Charan guzzling down water was so funny but also so hot 🤩
I was a bit skeptical about how they will make the royalty believable, but it wasn't cringey at all. I am all sat for the story to take off now. I just hope we get more romance and less palace intrigue. I'm here for a fairytale romance, not royal planning and plotting!
I needed more of RealHia!! 😭 Love that they haven't ceased being friends after they became lovers. They bicker as friends and make out as boyfriends 🥰
Ghlai is too bland a character for me to love LeeGhlai. TeeTee is much more expressive in the Duang With You pilot and his chemistry with Por really pops there. Here it's just mid.
FahRak's scenes have become repetitive now. There are neither any conflicts in their relationship, nor any character growth from where we left them in Your Sky. Healthy couples fight often and find middle ground for their differences. But these two are still tiptoeing around each other. The only scene of theirs I found interesting today was when Inn was flirting with Rak, and that's coz Ryujin really shone like a STAR!! At just 19 he looks like that and acts like that?! 😍 It's super that he has already bagged the second lead role in Mr. Fanboy, though I'm not sure Patji is the right partner for him.
What do I do with these BL boys! First there were simple water showers, then came champagne, then olive oil, and now honey. I want a chocolate fountain next!!
My only complaint - this relationship is too green flag. I was promised gray. I thought things will be messy and dubcon-ish. Resolution of sexual chemistry so early in the series works only when the emotional chemistry is unresolved. But this feels like confession, wedding, and honeymoon all done. Now I'm not sure the show will be able to hold my attention for the next 7 episodes.
If I didn't already know that this show is adapted from a Japanese manga, I would have known after watching these 2 episodes. Coz Jin is such a Japanese character. Not just his aesthetics, there's also this other-worldly quality to him. It seems like he dropped into this world one fine day and is trying to make sense of things around him. So when he makes Akin his whole world after one heart-touching (literally 🤭) encounter, it doesn't seem odd. When he does something creepy like kissing an unconscious Akin, you can't bring yourself to blame him because he is an alien after all.
And then there is Akin. The kind-hearted Ice Queen! Jin irritates and fascinates him in equal measure. I laughed out when he sat down in the park to wait for Jin to pick him up after trying to be the dismissive diva during their whole conversation. And then got sulky when Jin couldn't make it 😄 Their push and pull is going to be so delicious!
PS. Yes, we know Jin is the giant puppy dog to Akin's black cat. The show didn't need to be so heavy-handed about it. We BL watchers are pretty good at reading between the lines.
Okay, back after rewatching a few scenes a few times. I am totally in awe of William today. It's so difficult to remember that he is a teenager!! Other actors his age are playing high school kids in knickers. And here is this 19 year old, being so convincing in making a guy (who isn't just 4 years older but also bigger and buffer than him) lie back in happy surrender. That he can exude this dominant energy while being the most soft-spoken pookie that ever pookied is messing up my mind 🥵
