This episode was just a cute low key introduction to Lin and XiGuang being an official couple. Her chat with mom was very sweet. Lin and XiGuang both enjoyed teasing ShengYi and she left a message with Jiang Rui about finding her real estate.😁 She invited him to the lecture with her and they both spent time nerding over work ideals. She fessed up about finally telling them the name of the garden and he told her he wanted to capture all the light.😁 Jie figured it out from the boss gifts and is happy for them. The very beginning of episode was a hospital scene with wingman still recuperating in hospital. He has no memory of the day even when pressed a bit by Xu. He is still fishing for Lin status with XiGuang and Chris is close enough to hear. At least she is forewarned about his continued interest in XiGuang. I am glad wingman doesn’t care or recall. His mom still wants to have a chat with Lin to thank him for his assist. Lin is all happy he got a bigger portion in the cafeteria but is brought low by being guessed as a professor. 😂🤣 He hams it up a bit with his ‘student’ and they make plans to attend the evening lecture. This episode was just cute fluffy of first dates and chatting on phone for no particular reason except not really wanting to say goodbye or good night. 🥰

XiGuang’s garden plans are shaping up nicely and her team sees her as a solid leader. She is even planning on going to a seminar to hear one of the authors Lin had her research. She is becoming confident and is vibrant in the office even with Lin missing. Nobody knows exactly where he is or how long he will be gone. After the meeting she get;s Lin’s cards and letter. As she reads the letter, she remembers the banquet from two years ago. She has agreed to go, briefly, to represent her mom and say a few words to the host. While she is waiting, she hears an oafish businessman gossiping about her family and her mother in particular. I am surprised she didn’t throw her juice in his face, but she’s too polite. She says her greetings to the hosts and is edging her way to leave as soon as possible. She notes that Mr gossip is now trying to hand his card to her dad and she steps in. She very loudly reminds him of his choice words about her family. Her mother in particular. And that if those were his views, why would he show up to celebrate with the top businesswoman of the city? He tries to gloss it over but she really let him have it and topped it with that if those were his questionable views, than how trustworthy could his product be?👏🏻 She returns his card and Lin is smiling and enthralled with this spirited young woman before him. After reading his letter, XiGuang asks him to make a stop in Wuxi. She meets him on the platform and it is fun watching her get there early, buy snacks, and then wondering if she should have waited at the exit rather than platform. She follows him as he exits the train and he finally turns around. He is pleased and surprised that she actually got up early for him. They have breakfast out and she offers to take him sightseeing. She drives😂🤣 and he is silent when she missed a turn. This turns out to be a fortunate mistake because there is a picturesque path through the plum blossoms. He tries to explain himself and she looks him right in the eye and says ‘I am not moved at all. You could have asked me directly.” She is so bold and correct. This could have been avoided if he would have simply asked her straight up when he saw her. He still is struggling with never considering it wasn’t her. He is rarely so linear but in this one circumstance he never doubted he was right, but did ponder any possible reason she would not see him in hospital. He entertained them all because he wanted to be with her. She is forthright in saying their romance is a typical office one with a slight hiccup and then asks him quite directly if he wants to be with her. I love her sincerity and forthrightness. She refuses to not avoid being direct when it matters to her. He keeps bringing up the past and wishing his timing was better and she looks him in the eye and says they are together as of now going forward. She sees them so clearly and waiting for him to catch up that she’s all in with him. Their hug😍🥰❤️ I can’t wait til the banquet because I want to see these two step it up. Our power couple is about to arrive. She does give him the keys but promises to misdirect on purpose like motorcycle game🤣😂 Their moms would be doing a happy dance if they had seen this. 😁

It was a cute outing feeding the deer and gotta grin at Jiang Rui’s knees covered with snack plates as he chats with XiGuang. He has challenged Lin to a race and Lin accepts. I like that XiGuang has her mini snow sculptures lined up nicely on her balcony ledge, but there is no way I would share the front and have their backsides facing the room. It would be much easier to admire them facing the other way. 😝While I usually like the sibling relationship of XiGuang and Jiang Rui, his brotherly protective stance and loud blabbermouth talking has alerted Xu’s wingman to Lin’s “chasing” status. The last thing Xu needs is hope.😝 I hope Chris finds a way to thump the traitor soon. She specifically asked him to not tell and he took the first opportunity when she was out of earshot. It is nice that Lin is taking the time to be on good terms with Jiang Rui, but I also like that he sets him straight on not being able to call the shots with XiGuang. This was a good and proper boundary, plus the collector snow board bribe wasn’t a bad consolation prize. I like the mothers together. They had the possibility of a good friendship had family and bad investor now ‘ex’ husband been out of the way. I hope that their children bring this full circle to what should have been. XiGuang’s mom has felt a bit lost since the divorce and wanting to find new purpose. I think XiGuang asking her those business questions and Lin’s mom stating matter of factly she always felt she had better sense of business than Nie is letting her brain churn and get creating again. I would like to see this group get close without the bad eggs interfering. Not gonna happen but I can wish. For now I most want to clobber the wingman guy for planting a seed in Xu’s brain about XiGuang. He should play back his mean words and actions and stay bowed out gracefully. This episode is more about setting up for interference to the nice tranquil setting. 😝

Lin makes a perfect entry for XiGuang. Nice touch with the mini snow sculpture. Jiang Rui isn’t buying the instructor story completely but he’s willing to play along. Lin finds himself getting a side gig and entrenched with XiGuan and family for the day. He is on his best behavior because he wants to leave a good impression on them. There is an encounter with Xu on the slopes. Chris shuts down his would be wingman letting them all know XiGuang has a boyfriend. She is such a good influence for them. She segues the conversation to help Xu save face and not be embarrassed. If he has any sense at all he will thank God that a quality girl really likes him. Her dreamworthy hug 😂🤣 She takes the time to note how cute the bf is and that they need to step up 😂🤣 That rescue catch from Lin. He literally plants himself and lets her crash into him relishing the chance to hug her.🥰 He also sweetly embraces her off the ski lift so she’s not embarrassed by falling. One thing that stands out peripherally is how great the two moms are. XiGuang and Yu sen have been blessed with mothers that have survived tragedy but raise their kids in a loving hate free environment. I have no clue who Bokai is that keeps coming up in conversation, but I am thinking shady brother of Lin’s mom. There is such a dark story here. It is very sad and tragic and that Lin can stand with both sides of family without resentment, is completely due to a loving mom that raised him right. XiGuang is naive in guy choosing, but she knows how to travel and do the leg work herself. Her Gma and mom have not spoiled her or made her equate wealth with entitlement. Lin and XiGuang have the potential to be the power couple that gets things done in an un pretentious manner. They genuinely care for people in general and do not have the typical class issues that wealth is associated with. They treat people as people and class is irrelevant. When Lin’s mom goes right up to the table and calls him out.😂🤣 I like that Lin shoulders the blame for the prank and tells right away they are colleagues. This will gain immediate approval from family and let him not be locked in a fake instructor status the entire time there. I don’t know why Lin calls step dad Mr. Luo, but even with that title separation, it is clear he loves Lin’s mom and is a positive force for them. What I wasn’t expecting is that the moms knew each other. She knew right away that Nie was bad news. Lin’s dad was made the fall guy and literally banished to a remote location and when his mom intervened it resulted in his early death. I am thinking this might have been the spur for Lin to work so hard in medicine. XiGuang’s aunt is a force to be reckoned with. It is quite clear where Jiang Rui gets his vibrant extrovert behavior from.😂🤣She wants all the tea and straight up asks for it.😂🤣 Lin was spared giving his weibo info to her.😂🤣 XiGuang’s uncle is telling his side of Lin’s family tragedy and waiting to see if Nie is involved in the unethical business practices Lin’s uncles apparently were. With this history it makes sense for Lin to stay at a side corporation rather than in their immediate vicinity. For now it will be interesting to see what happens when these two moms get together.

I love the sibling relationship between Jiang Rui and XiGuang. He gets immediately that XiGuang's dad has her in a sad mood and he knows just how to butter up Gma.😂🤣 He is a much needed spirit raiser in XiGuang’s life with all the negativity her dad brings.😝They are celebrating the fireworks and teasing each other about red envelopes. I like that she and Lin are texting and that cousin and Lin’s mom notice. I see this as a future comfort blanket of support for XiGuang in the future to counteract dad’s gf and daughter vibes.😝Xu’s little brother meant well, and I honestly like him. He is friends with Jiang Rui so it already proves he’s nicer than his brother. The trip to the lodge with the cute bickering of the family. They have a fun vibe and I like that they are close and truly enjoy each other’s company. There was an awkward encounter at the ski shop when Jiang Rui sees Xu. I love that he shields his cousin and instinctively doesn’t like Xu around her. He has made it pretty clear that he is his cousin’s protective wall. I liked how he asked Xu directly why he came to visit while he was away and I am grateful the maid misunderstood. Xu’s brother got a convenient stomach bug that prevented him from going. He is truly good hearted trying to look out for his brother, but he really isn’t taking into account the toxic environment they made for XiGuang that was based far more on Rong’s perceived fiction than true fact. By the second Lin will be there and cousin can be wingman. Can’t wait to see these two get acquainted. Xu’s colleague realized her mistake asking XiGuang to take group photos for them. Unlike Rong, she had no mean intentions and just thought asking Xu’s acquaintance to take pics. Jiang Rui showed up just in time to bail her out. He thinks Xu instigated the photos and retaliated asking him to take some. I was hoping he’d see pics of Lin on her phone.😝Jiang Rui wants the air cleared so he’s trying to find out Xu’s intentions for his cousin. For once Xu is innocent and he is the fall guy for his brother’s good intentions. He lets his brother know he stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and not to repeat. His brother urges him to fight for her, but again where’s his brain? Doesn’t he have any recollection of how mean and cutting they were to XiGuang on a regular basis? I don’t know why he expects that slate to be wiped clean due to wishful thinking.😝He has no idea how big of a jerk his brother was at the wedding or I don’t think he would have plotted for them to meet. Who I do like is Xu’s colleague. She encouraged him to talk to XiGuang but is told there is a bf. I think she’s happy with this news and will hopefully keep Xu distracted and away from XiGuang. If Xu will stop mourning his loss, he is actually around a decent group of people in his colleagues. They could help him grow into a more personable being. I can only hope that happens for him. But whether or not he ever manages to mature EQ wise, I can’t wait to see him and Lin cross paths at the resort. I think this will be the last of Xu’s influence on XiGuang and I am hoping she leaves the resort with her youthful past truly in the past. Let the snow games begin❄️

I liked that XiGuang headed to his table for breakfast without feeling awkward. Lin made alternate plans since he found out about her fear of flying. Their phone cover purchases.🤣😂 She went back to the visited worksite to take notes on their greenhouse construction details. She wants to look more learned with the home construction team. It was cute how he shared how to geek up before meeting to look smart.😂🤣 no surprise she took the foodie option. The grins from their servers over the phone case choices😂🥰 I think this is the first time XiGuang wished for more turbulence on the flight. She only got to sample one mystery box. She wants to get braver about traveling and he was so thoughtful in having a fun calming distraction. 🥰 He had already planned for her to get the snacks and share as gifts with her friends. Her visit to Ping’an temple to change her wish😂🤣Him noting her guilty look while she demands complete privacy.😂🤣He fishes to find out if he was part of her wishlist. If he only knew.😂🤣The scene switches to the bank where the worst case scenarios occurred with the company Xu’s colleague wanted them to invest in. Fortunately they missed the investment loss because the supervisor took Xu’s advice of approaching the investment cautiously so no funds were lost. She is both very embarrassed about her referral and relieved that Xu’s counter decision helped her save face. Here was a pleasant surprise. Xu wasn’t an arrogant ass. They actually had a conversation where he treated her like a respected colleague. They have a celebratory dinner that they missed a big loss and his lippy friend embarrasses himself. Xu is actually personable and pleasant. His brother is visiting and finds an old photo. Xu came home very drunk and comments on the picture. He wonders if XiGuang would have shown same concern his brother did for his welfare had they come to Shanghai together. His brother is finally realizing Rong isn’t who his brother was interested in. XiGuang has done all her homework and presents two options for garden construction. Lin’s snacks broke the ice and their was lively discussion amongst the home teams for ideas. Here Lin is showing her potential as a future leader in the company. I really like that Lin guides her but encourages her to come up with her own plans and confidently present her ideas to management. She is maturing into the best version of herself because he is such a positive gentle influence for her. He is building up her confidence and taking care with her since he is aware how toxic her college friends are. She is encouraged to go the BIPV route so that it can become demo site of newer technology for the factory. She is invited to a meeting to be included in financial planning developments. Here she learns her father is not meeting his company financial promises and is not happy. She has a chat with her cousin about why she changed skiing plans and he speculates about her interest in Lin. She asks him about her father’s lack of payment with expansion plans and he assures her it can be handled without effecting wages so not to worry about it. The cousin passes on the location changes to his friends that includes Xu’s brother. Xu’s little brother figures out that XiGuang will probably be along on the trip. 😝 while I actually like the little brother…we don’t need Xu there.

Gma stopping XiGuang from helping with the baby broccoli.😂 Lin chats with mom but it is not mentioned why she doesn’t want the family knowing she’ll be local. XiGuang is helping Gma by adding wood to a very old fashioned stove. I gotta laugh picturing any of her college “friends” trying that. 😝 Gma makes it very clear how unimpressed she is with her son and his current living arrangements. She gives XiGuang tips on how to keep a husband in line.😂🤣 When XiGuang is leaving, Gma continues with dating advice. She is kinda freaking at the prospects of returning to work and seeing Lin. She is adorable thinking she has blocked seeing him so well when he quietly reveals to her he has no excuses left to stay away from the office and she’s going to have to deal with him being in the vicinity. Lin makes himself most popular boss with a paid week’s vacation and promise of replacing unliked caterer at their meeting. Jie finds out offering to handle office party is a bigger job than expected. While they are out of the office she quizzes XiGuang on why she’s been acting weird around boss and dumping work on her to get signed. She is saved by the bell of her phone to find herself at dinner with ShingYi who promises to spill some tea. He reminds me of an older version of her cousin😂🤣 a total pain in the arse but good natured so put up with 😂🤣 instead of tea, he is more trying to be Lin’s wingman. He is putting her on the spot that if YuSen doesn’t make the cut who on earth can?😂🤣 He also says she is getting more like him which she definitely struggles with processing. ShingYi comments in what a great catch Lin is and that every girl in the medical building would be envious of her.😂🤣 Lin tells his friend to shut up and brushes XiGuang’s coat on purpose. He is wanting her to become used to closer proximity without weirdness between them. He congratulates her for being brave enough to sit with him for the meal and she cannot figure out how on earth he is calmly eating dinner from their leftovers and then paying the bill. ShingYi did well, the restaurant chosen has a walking area so she can’t escape in a cab right out the door. She is forced to walk some with him. As they are chatting she wonders what would have been had she met YuSen first and said it aloud. When she’s annoyed with his friend for getting him to assist in medical matters knowing he can’t be a doctor he surprises her with his thinking. He said he’d had a year to be dramatic about his hands and that was more than enough. Why hold on it forever? She took a minute to process that. He comments on her dark eye circles and the stress she has suffered because of him and apologizes sincerely for blindsiding her with his confession. This makes her think back to her text apologizing to Xu for confessing. She tells him not to apologize and they agree to not be awkward at work anymore. He wants to take her to the worksite and he goes to an area not earmarked for any project and asks her what should go there. She wants a garden/snack area for the workers and he gives it to her for a work project to be in charge of. She is recovering from the flip of suggesting an idea for him to make happen to him telling her she’s in charge and he will sign the paperwork.😂She then gets introduced to BIPV vs BAPV. She and Jie are trying to process what this all means and XiGuang is unhappy that she created her own trap.😂🤣 Their supervisor needs taste testers for new caterers and decides the only fair method is to draw for it. Only two can go. Lin enters the mix and it comes down to him and XiGuang with the last two strips. Lin says she got the last chance to go.

Lin and XiGuang are adorable in the arcade.🥰🤣 Lin scores points with the girl in movie line but loses points with the guy for breaking the bro code.😂🤣This couple is also a cute aside as they watch Lin and XiGuang. She falls asleep because it’s been a very long day. He is filling her in on the points of the movie when the gal from other couple compliments him on his multitasking skills.😂 XiGuang is determined to get that scenic view so Lin takes her to a quiet top tier place with a gorgeous view of the city. I love his banter with her about getting to boss her around while on her payroll. They have another “plot twist” when he has to go with her to police station to get a temp ID card. His concern that she stays safe and well in her room so his reputation stays intact.🤣😝 Xu and friend are drinking at a local bar. Rong’s friend has finally agreed to accept his gf’s confession and they are officially a pair. What is disheartening about the conversation is he asks Xu if true love is left for the handsome guys like him, He is rather ambivalent about his relationship and implies she is the one due to lack of better option. He feels she is doing the same.😝I’m hoping these two wait a long time before getting married. Xu is drinking a lot regularly. He is quiet but unhappy. This is becoming a negative habit for him when not working. He is rather sullen and killing time til he can go back to work. Lin is all rise and shine for breakfast. He greets her sweetly and then teases her all through breakfast. His comment is he could only be more handsome by upgrading car.😂🤣 They make it in and both present gifts to her friend. This is one of the few friends I liked for her. At the table Rong makes an appearance and starts in on how inferior XiGuang’s and Lin’s positions must be in the company. Lin grins when XiGuang sets her straight using family ties to make point of where her strengths are. I like when Lin tells her she nudged back with enough force to put Rong in place but stopped there. It is nice to see XiGuang standing up for herself. Her friend that is settling for best option then makes a catty remark about staying overnight in Shanghai. Lin puts that down and makes it clear everything was done with propriety. Then XiGuang’s low EQ friend wants to know why a doctor isn’t practicing medicine. Lin gave her permission to explain but she tries to justify it as multiple interests. The wedding couple comes over to toast and wine is spilled on XiGuang. I am grieved that XiGuang still shows interest in Xu, but have to grin that Lin retaliates with the big piece of fat because she was so focused he just grabbed whatever bite for her.🤣😂 she serves him soup and low EQ friend amuses Lin by getting served too.🤣😂 The wedding couple come over for a toast and Xu spills wine on XiGuang. I am waiting to see how it is handled because of course this is where episode ends.😝

She accepts the invitation to go to the wedding but had to decline helping her friend prep for her wedding because the same day. A cold snap hits and the outfit she planned to wear isn’t suited so Lin takes her shopping. She is spoiled and he gets a discount. When they arrive she learns that the bride wasn’t the inviter. It is covered quickly and she is still processing she is really his plus one. Ok, that he knew to the second when he saw her was a new extreme of love at first sight. I like that her safety charm is in his car. 🥰There is a poignant moment when he greets his mentor. XiGuang is considered his gf and he tells his mentor he is still pursuing her.🥰 Her college friends bump into her while Lin is getting the car. It seems Rong made everybody believe she was studying abroad and not on a study trip with her cousin. It is debatable whether this was an accident or on purpose. Rong has a lot to say about XiGuang finding her own happiness when Mr tall dark and awesomely handsome comes up the stairs for her. He knows she is upset but not sure why. He is introduced to the group and he makes a point to greet Xu.😂😝When her friends try to team up on her for missing the prep day, he comes to her rescue and takes the blame for her absence. He also wants to take her out so she is back to being happy after being upset by her “friends”. They come across as pretty toxic as they didn’t ask why she was there but started ganging up with accusations. Seems they haven’t changed much. 😝The episode ends with them heading to the bank for more cash. He wants to know how much she plans on spending and she just grins. 😁 Compared to her work colleagues, it is pretty clear how shabbily she is treated by the friends from home. Guess Rong helped her out since Xu was unaware XiGuang was local.

XiGuang noticed that his left hand couldn’t keep up while trying her game. She wants to know why his friend keeps talking about surgeries with Lin when he can’t be a doctor. She thinks it’s mean. He explains it is exposure therapy to help him heal from his sudden change of work status. She watches him attentively with patients and former colleagues and sees how capable he is. She even comments that he is incredible because he is equally good with the business. The teasing at lunch about the horror movie😂🤣 she finds an easier game for him to work his hand and successfully win. 🥰They are funny when comparing salaries. 😂🤣 After discharge she finally tells her mom she was injured but she changes how she was injured and the degree of injury. He yells at her to quit worrying the people who care about her. I don’t think she realized he included himself in that group. He drives her home and she sees his eyesight was also impaired but I think she really liked how he looked in glasses.😍Everybody greets her when she returns to work and Lin plans a dinner to improve their Feng shui 😂🤣He says that he and XiGuang will pay since they started the rumors of bad luck. She and her friend are speculating if she will really have to pay. When they get to the place it is very top tier and all the most expensive dishes are ordered. He calls her down to the register and claims to have forgotten his wallet.🤣😝 She counters that this will make them even for hospital bill.😂She wants to know if they are ok now and asks why he disliked her so much initially. He commented that she was carefree and forgetful. She equated that with being called a ditz but has no clue what he is talking about. She just knows he’s sincere in his opinion and he sees that she is not recalling but neither understand why the other doesn’t get it. She cannot believe how audacious he in in accepting all credit for the meal she paid for.😂🤣She wonders if they are friends now. Xu goes head to head with a colleague about doing business with an overseas client. He advises more caution than she does. His supervisor asked his opinion and Xu outlined all his concerns. It is noted by his colleague that disagrees. He gets a call from his friend informing him to come to his wedding on the 2nd. XiGuang asks Lin why she is always the one staying late. He reminds her how much her family makes and that he felt guilty taking advantage of the working class😂🤣 They make new rules for a budding friendship as to how to address each other. The exchange of gifts.🥰 He is thinking very late for the safety charm and she is touched at the thoughtful gift of ointment to lessen scarring. The colleague that shrieked and caused her fall felt guilty and invited XiGuang to her wedding. They discuss the wedding invite and then it segues into if the reward high enough would I jump off the balcony😂🤣she gets a call from a classmate wanting help with her wedding. She doesn’t want to go when all of them gathering as that would most likely include Rong and Xu.

XiGuang definitely has no clue who Lin is and that seems to really annoy him. TBH I would not understand his issue had novel readers not included spoilers. After getting caught after hours she and mentor are begged by procurement dept to hurry up a contract because they wanted to rush payment. XiGuang’s desk and personal stamp are used on it and while she wanted to read all of the contract, she trusted her mentor and didn’t argue the point. It turns out that money unit for one item was in RMB currency and now a big finance mistake. The ass from procurement is talking a different story when he wants to toss blame for an issue caused by his department. While these two departments argue about how to distribute blame, Lin is observing areas of company and talking with an old mentor. There is then a nice long chat about renewable non fossil energy. Mr Lin is called about the money issue and personally handles it. What doesn’t seem right is that Mo department head getting on his high horse to criticize hires for a completely different department. That should be out of his purview once the upper management intermediates overlapping department conflicts. Lin kept his responses polite and civil while dealing with a pompous ass. The next time his lackey comes begging for a rushed contract I hope they take their time to read every bit of fine print and then clear it with supervisor before signing off on it. XiGuang finds herself transferred to admin where Lin will now directly be her supervisor. He has provided her a shield for Mo but admin has no jobs available. She finds herself in a very disorganized company archive buried under files and old contracts. She has found her organizing super power😂🤣 This job is actually a good break for her to keep her job and be low profile to avoid any further work issues. Lin does not seem happy with his job placement but his hand and wrist seems to be causing big issues which is why surgeon no longer a job option. XiGuang is cute singing to herself while cleaning. Lin shows up and gets a new reason to scowl at her.😝She should just keep working silently and not try to butter up the boss that has already saved her ass from a serious mistake. Her comment about rushing payment has him reviewing procurement contracts. He is offended by her claiming to have a good memory but with work details she has shown this to be true. He has challenged her to research their top 50 products and historically determine their prices and development. She is not happy with the assignment but she refuses to back away from it. She creates a spreadsheet with all the requested data and then asks for time off. He can’t deny her skills but she doesn’t get time off for her efforts. Her lame health excuse to a prior doctor did not go over well. She should have just been honest and say she needed a break to rejuvenate after all the overtime hours. The trio of roomies hear a new hire is getting one of the new rooms when they should have been on the list. They are especially annoyed because the new hire is in procurement department. They are deciding if they should speak up or stay quiet. It is already clear XiGuang is not gonna stay quiet. She opts to talk to Lin directly rather than file a complaint. So she corners him when he’s exiting from a meeting. Goes to next episode…

Episode begins with XiGuang practicing her interview in Chinese and English. This gives her a chance to get a job independent of her parents. She and friend are trying to determine Zhang Xu’s motivation to refer her to his senior in the company. Does this mean he LIKES her or not? XiGuang finds out that her interview is a formality and she has the job. Scene shifts to a board meeting where Lin is asked for his opinion on what has been discussed. In this, he is similar to Xu speaking directly and frankly with no shmoozing to the board members. He does, however, use more tact and is respectful to the people he is speaking to and about. He hasn’t endeared himself to the Wuxi group with his assessment. When the roommates gather over lunch they get on XiGuang’s case because she wants to consider the job rather than rush to accept. Everybody is looking out for Rong’s feelings. XiGuang is pleased she got her first job on her own. She thinks a celebratory dinner is being planned but is blindsided by Rong who believes she wasn’t told about her interview. She has all this proof about the time that the call was made and employees account of how the message was supposed to have been passed on. It is very clear to me that the chipper low EQ roommate who is away for a few days the culprit, but she is not even considered. Everybody is convinced she tried to bury Rong’s chance of an interview and XiGuang is hurt they don’t believe her. Rong goes out of her way to be a royal b to XiGuang and Zhuang Xu doesn’t help matters. There is a flashback of a confession where he apologizes for not accepting. She wasn’t deterred but said she would keep trying. So now the department can gossip about her bf stealing and her lying about the interview call for Rong. They really drag this out for all they are worth. I thought a bit excessive since Rong is getting her interview. Her cousin is being his goofy self to try to cheer her up. Rong now throws daggers about finding a trusting lover. She’s showing off the phone Xu got for her. Chirpy roomie comes back and starts setting things straight about the interview call. She wants to know why XiGuang moved out. As she explains what really happened and that the company failed with follow-up call, Rong has to do some self reflection. I like how her friend speaks to their entire dept setting things straight. These two…they gathered evidence like a court case with timestamps and recorded call verifying exactly what really happened and why neither was guilty of any wrongdoing. At this point XiGuang says she finds the company unreliable and doesn’t plan on working for them. Her roommates did apologize and they now move forward rejoicing over the flip from social media as the truth is spread on campus. Rong and Xu didn’t show up at the truth be told dinner. I find I don’t care about their absences. The meal was a happier event without them. Xu’s senior is apologizing via phone call about the lies and misunderstanding of Rong’s interview call. His mom is really pushing a relationship with Rong but that is not where his heart is. The episode ends with her meeting her professor and finding Xu in the room.

We are introduced to YuYu, a man who speaks his mind unfiltered and who expects top quality in everything he deals with whether food or design materials. He is somewhat antisocial by choice and amuses his colleagues with his ability to inadvertently annoy women in particular with his word choices in communication. He is perfectly comfortable alone and in fact declares that is his preference. He doesn’t want to mingle but he does want to share things he appreciates, like the noodles. But unfortunately that fell flat and he was embarrassed at the young designer he feels is showing him up. He is not pleased with design changes and shoddy workmanship and is not winning popularity points there either. At the movies he is a stickler for the rules but expecting the woman to move twice rather than once. He just gave her every reason to keep the seat. I enjoyed her reaction to him being called away.😂🤣 He ends up in the hospital for hemorrhoids and does not recognize Dr Gu as the woman he met at the movies. He has interesting relationships with his colleagues and they scheme together with cash quickly passing back and forth with YuYu usually winning.😂 It’s a fun start of drama as he meets his new neighbor with plushie drop and in spite of his gruff nature, he wants her to get her item back. He is prickly by nature yet rather thoughtful when understood.

This episode gave the stepmom’s history and I found that I didn’t give a free flying about it. I was not even going to register this an 8 til the tournament game started. That made this episode worth the watch. Stepmom’s mentor was enlisted to get Asuka back into competing. She brought him to the table with her game and her attitude. I liked when she went over to get the snack and said that age and gender shouldn’t register when sitting down at the game. And then she beat him as well.😁 Her step brother finally grew a spine with his mom, but he showed himself a complete ass for the match. Too bad the dad wasn’t watching to see his kids play. Guess new wifey had better game, but she was weak with the game and a bully to get her way so she was no prize. Her son is just like her and his fiancée would do well to rid herself of the lot of them.😝 Asuka successfully kicked little bro’s ass and they had a brief chat. She was neither fearful or impressed with the idea of competing against monster dad. She knew what he was at five.😝 I like her stepping stone comment. Good on her. She’s got the grit for it. So the brother I think is the culprit releasing the pics of Asuka and knife at that match to the press. Somehow she still gets to keep playing and that certainly rocked her world, but I am glad to know the father was made aware of what his daughter thought of him. I don’t even know if he is capable of having that register, but maybe it pinged somewhere in that shogi brain of his what a complete ass and loser he was with his first family. The ones that made the mistake of loving him more than the damn game. That affection was wiped off the planet and he should know that. I want her to wipe the floor with him and tell him to stop playing like he did to her. I really hope to see that moment. Then she should walk away without another glance like he did her and her mom. I can dream right?

The small fox clone is so sure he has FuGui in the bag for his master that he launches himself at FuGui expecting to feed off hatred. He finds himself tossed and bouncing around like a Pachinko ball because no hatred exists inside FuGui.🤣😂 This amused me. I still smirk thinking about it. While the fox is testing FuGui, QingTong runs into Madam Yin. The spider master learns that old ways no longer hold sway with QingTong and that her 12580 was doing her damndest to blow them both up with her core to keep the master from FuGui. He arrives just in time to slam QingTong’s core back into her and defeat the spider master who is stunned that he was capable of hauling out a divine flame blade with such little spiritual energy left. He refuses to kill her while she moans over her husband’s core and screeching about HongYe’s treachery. Here FuGui knew was incorrect because they record all demons killed. So he looks at the core and points out that it was in suspended animation and he could remove the seal to prove it to her. She spent so much time with her hatred she missed that detail.😝🙄 Here she offers a future favor as a thank you. So when FuGui helps a demon he gets the entire spider spy network owing him. Quan JingTing disrupts a lot, but he is not a great asset to any cause for human or demon. He is despised by both sides. With that mind scrambling talisman he said the blood magic would only spare the creator while EVERY person in there failed to note HE was the one that destroyed it. That poor young priest was demon brainwashed whether by deceit or choice and was driven to suicide before the truth could be told. This fickle YiQi alliance have no problems killing their own and change leadership with little thought. They cave to the strongest and/or richest. HongYe has been set up and his people know it, but instead of killing off that wretched QingTing, he uses the same warped logic with himself as FuGui and sees it as harmful if they kill off each other. Funny he didn’t see that logic with his son and innocent life.😝 I can’t feel sorry about or angry at his betrayal. He keeps the villains close with minimal restraint. I am glad the butler pointed out how little the alliance actually does for the power they want to wield and how FuGui basically took care of the entirety of their demands with no reward in sight. That prophecy is getting closer and they are to blame. Small scenes with RuMu still trying to find his ice dragon and being in bad shape. He is a mess and bragging about soldier backing him when he hears just a bit of what’s been happening with his cousin. They are going to have an interesting conversation when they next meet.
