That hug took Xiu by surprise but she knew he was very upset. She thought angry she left on her own but he revealed he was scared and briefly mentioned his dad’s disappearance. Gong and Zhao sleeping off wine.😂🤣 I think her day was spent in quiet solitude removing all hints of her husband from her phone. She can now move forward with no baggage to hinder her unexpectedly. When they get back Yu sees a Pei car tailing Xiu. I wish he would have said why he was in protective mode so she could be more wary when alone. She thinks he is super clingy because they are official. Her boxes barely make a presence in that huge room. 🤣 She is bringing in pieces of her personality and bringing life to his apartment. He now can feel welcomed home just seeing the mat she has at the door. I don’t know that Yu has had a sense of home since his dad died. Pei is looking into the financials even after his father’s beating. It is clear he was struck with that damn golf club. He is at least looking into his father’s activities and not blindly accepting them any more. Yu fools Pei by making him think Xiu is returning the meal carrier. Yu lets him know that Xiu is being tailed and lets Pei know this is how his father has always operated. Pei didn’t believe him but Yu gave him the license plate number and told him to check it himself. I don’t think he was aware of how tight a leash his father kept on things. The company that was being forced out is having money troubles. Pei knew the company couldn’t handle it and mocked the manager for not being able to eat the meal offered. When the guy threatens to tell about 20 years ago, he is summarily dismissed and removed from the premises with orders he can’t come back. Yu is still there and smirks while he sees the angry man storm out. He is already aware of why and will most likely meet with him soon. Pei confronts his father and finds out his aide is also a spy for dad. He now is aware of how little privacy he really has. He is thrown when his dad says the surveillance had nothing to do with him. He knows who Xiu’s father is and has told Pei. At Yu’s place Xiu has found the picture of Yu and his dad and has it specially framed. It is such a sweet gesture and he’s not quite sure how to respond to it. He does promise a future chat about his dad. When I expected that contractor to show up it is Gong at the office. He wants Yu to come back and make some corporate decisions. Yu basically tells him the company has been his all along and he is just a designer. Gong is a bit overwhelmed but you can see the wheels churning. He and Zhao will be great business partners. The last surprise is his mom showing up with food and mentioning a family dinner. She considers Pei off the market and wants to schedule a blind date for Yu. Luna is probably very pretty and well educated but she doesn’t stand a chance compared to Xiu. Gong is laughing his ass off at his boss’s predicament and sworn to secrecy. This woman. 😝She has left her son alone for 20 years and now wants to play mother matchmaker. She is as clueless about her son as he is about her. He should have come clean about Xiu right then, but he’s spread himself thin and not ready to deal with the family hurdle right now. This will bite him in the ass but it’s his call to make. Maybe Luna will be a good match for Pei? That might be interesting. I hope Yu gets some pleasant time with Xiu before the s hits the fan. Because it is coming and all too soon.

Gong is worn out trying to keep up with Zhao. She is throwing all her energy in to making her business thrive. They are preparing for their first cooperation with the game and have board games and character props set up to give both businesses more publicity. He makes her define him and was very surprised by her label. 🤣😂 When he tries to deny it, she firmly grabs his lapels and looks him right in the eye daring him to rebut it.😂🤣 There ends up being a toast for the virgin. 🤣🥂 He challenges her to take off for the weekend and she surprisingly says yes. At work Xiu challenges Yu to return the meal carrier. She wants him to have a chance to speak to his mother. Pei is now looking over the books. They do not show the altercation with his dad but they show him a mess afterwards. Xiu had spilled coffee at the event and he tried gifting her a silk scarf. She didn’t accept it and he is cradling that and almost in a fetal position dealing with his emotional turmoil. I don’t want him for Xiu, they are not well matched. But I really would like him to get some assist from his younger and bigger brother to deal with his dad. That man is a menace. Xiu talked Yu into a weekend outing and he is all smiles til he finds out it’s a foursome. Things are going smoothly until Xiu wasn’t with Zhao and an accident had occurred. Yu is back to what happened with his dad and is relieved it isn’t Xiu that was injured. He runs and captures her in his arms grateful she is unharmed. His uncle has found the company that Zhuling wants to break ties with and they have an order their small company cannot possibly do well. Yu is deciding what to do with that info. This was a sweet respite, Yu’s scare aside, but elder Pei is a very dark storm on the horizon. Yu’s mom mentioned the girl and it’s already established she is not suitable as far as dad is concerned. He isn’t unnerved by a body count so it’s scary what he might do to get his own way. It took 20 years to get a small chink in his armor and he doesn’t give either son any credit to bring his sins to light.

They did a good job of intermingling their stories and encounters. They correct each other with actions. She is admonished about facial expressions and posture. He is reminded he is not the prince and needs to act more humble. As the widow, the prince sets the sons straight on how the female head of household is to be treated by law. As the Prince, she finds out what herb is used in the incense they are drugging the prince with. She rescued the damsel in distress and shared favorite romance stories. He has stepped in between second son and his abuse/feelings for her and is glad to accept the job as guardian of the Prince. She shares her story with him and he snuggles her under pretense of appreciating his beautiful face. They are slowly learning about each other while forced to literally walk in the other’s shoes. The Chief secretary has no depth he won’t sink to. He has second son put in a position to investigate the Prince and his first son after Hong Si for a confession to being the thief. At this crucial time the bracelets swap souls back to their correct bodies. I find this an interesting twist and the story continues to be well paced with all the players in place with good or evil intentions

Right when things heat up Zhou and Gong have to interrupt. Gong has just told Zhao all his womanizer ways in game when an employee brings video of Yu and Xiu in alley. Both besties have to investigate……and….kissing interrupted. 😝 The guys head upstairs and Zhao applauds Xiu. Her not wanting on couch because a crime scene a hilarious line. 🤣😂 She immediately starts packing her stuff to give them some privacy. Not sure if Wang has truly moved his stuff out yet, but she’s using that as her excuse to leave. She is fortunately there to take Gong with her because Mr can’t read the room was going to trash their evening otherwise. 😝Yu and Xiu skip the movie and pour over the designs he gave her and she is drawn most to one his dad drew. I am thinking it was a plan for the stadium since it had much to do with acoustics and unique uses of space. She fell asleep when he wanted to hint about his dad. He carries her to her room and she pins his arm under her. Xiu is quite forward trying to get him to stay with her and snuggle, but when she went in for the kiss the gig is up.😂 As much as he wants to stay he chooses to be the gentleman. This turned out to be well timed because his uncle has confirmed that a company was dropped by Zhuling so would not be on financial report. They think this is the one that noticed and conspired with Pei after collapse. I am trying to understand Yu’s mom but I’m failing. She did not investigate to see if husband was innocent and she settled for safe rather than love ever since. I am thinking this is how elder Pei trapped her by promising a safety net for her and son when it was nothing of the kind. Even his flesh and blood doesn’t feel safe and secure in that home. That is probably the night Yu tried to open the safe and was made the family scapegoat. I am sad Yu didn’t accept his mother’s soup and that the meal carrier has made Xiu with Pei in her mind. I can’t completely dislike the mother because of her trauma, but I don’t really like her either. She is another piece of Pei’s collateral damage. The uncle is more excited to expose Pei now that evidence is finally showing up. He at least recommends himself as the investigator. While Yu shows jealousy over the designer meal Xiu received, the only portion she allowed herself was cleaning the carriers.😝 She noted he hadn’t touched his lunch either and encouraged him to make things right with his mom. His trick of pretending sleep😂🤣 As they chat she lets him know as a foodie he is best aware of her choice. 🥰 She cannot make it any plainer he has no reason to be jealous of Pei. What she hadn’t been aware of til lunch was how her little act of kindness impacted a son that grew up without those niceties. While these brothers’ machinations with each other over Xiu is determined to make yet another wedge between them, I am wanting her to be the bridge and ballast that joins them to work together against the evil dad that put all this in motion 20 years ago.

Xiu has such a way.👏🏻 She gets different shoes and the coveted marriage certificate. She has the audacity to make Qin witness it.🤣😂 She stands up to him nicely and he gave the appearance of giving in and signing. She is all set to get the ring and finish game when she finds out he signed the certificate in your dreams. 🤣😂 She finds him and gives him very direct speak on him playing around with her feelings in game and at work. She lets him know straight up she’s had enough. Right when I think he might just disappoint me he pulls her into side alley and they finally have a real kiss.😍🥰🫣 He thinks he is hiding her so well that he has no clue he is wearing her lipstick when the other players walk by. The gals want to know more but the actor steers them away grinning. When they exit the game Gong makes himself the third wheel because he is not very good at reading the room. 😝 When he is finally out of the car, Yu takes her to his place. She sees studio part 2.😂 He gives her some designs and it includes some with his real name on them or maybe his dad’s. Not sure yet. She is very disappointed and this time is commenting on work being an obstacle. He doesn’t even start with I like you but goes to immediately he loves her.❤️ He can’t even say specifically when because she has never really left his thoughts once he noticed her. He presents her the ring from the game and they have a tbd what else she will claim from him.🥰They continue where they left off and then she studies project notes til 3AM. Her reaction at the door.😂🤣 Prior to this he attends a bday meal for his mother, and once again the Pei’s show how out of step he is with their knowledge of her. He does bring back the brightest memory he has of his parents and she is lost in that moment. I don’t know how I feel about his mother. Her absence from his life probably started out as mother protect mode to keep his name away from his dad’s. But in the process she lost he relationship with her son and only has him come on Pei turf to meet her. I think elder Pei keeps her locked in where Yu is concerned, but if she won’t make any effort to fight for her son, she doesn’t deserve him. Pei leaves his cards on the table because he really likes Xiu. He has no clue he is too late or that his father would look down on her because of her parentage. Yu calls the dad out more directly with this and leaves early. He warns Pei not to make Xiu face his dad with him. I think Yu knows that something could happen once Pei finds out who her father is and how related to collapse. He is in all protect mode for her. At the door Xiu runs to wash hair.😂🤣 They have not dated long enough for greasy hair to be acceptable.🤣😂 When she finds out she used hand sanitizer instead, we learn that ‘Kevin” had a job doing hair. 😂🤣 It is a homey scene with her getting her hair rubbed with coconut oil to neutralize the damage she inflicted on it. Yu is being more himself and actually laughing with her. His walls are crumbling and he is letting himself be seen. His smile is as big as hers and while I know his family history is gonna throw a wrench into things. I really want this smiling view of them to last for as long as possible and then for them to be a united front once the truth comes out.

Zhao bravely meets hubby at the food stand where they first met. She goes right to Chi Xin and he goes to her company. He actually suggested a shared meal with her. 🤬There is no defense for this man. He is lucky he only got a drink thrown at him. Their meeting and start of relationship was beautiful. He doesn’t recognize what he did. She is staying with Xiu waiting for Wang to clear his stuff out. Pei has a chat with Director Shen and knows the financial report is fraudulent. Unlike his father that I am sure threatened him, Pei reminds him of how life would be for his son if he went to jail. He goes to his father wanting an explanation. He got a drink thrown his way too but also a cut by the cup. I liked that Xiu helped him save face and gave him a bandaid. He now knows what Yu already did. I think he was blindsided by the long term fraud. He did not expect his father to be that unethical with people’s safety. I liked him questioning Xiu as a designer if there was any hope for change once foundation set. She gave him hope and unexpectedly I was glad she did. Both of these brothers have been under the shadow of this man and I want them jointly to bury him.😝 Zhao finds out her hubby is in hospital and after everything she faithfully shows up. Wang takes this as things going back to normal. She very calmly weighs the decay of their relationship and told him directly she chooses not to love him. I am so satisfied with her decision and the return of the ring. She decisively made a clean break and left no hope of rekindling their relationship. She goes directly to divorce decree and new business venture. 👏🏻 Xiu has taken a virtual path to vent her anger. How many ways can I murder Qin?😂🤣 She has killed his character so often Gong mentions it to Yu. 🤣 He is tired of his friend hiding and says so. Zhao has dropped her mourning and is full speed ahead with a joint venture with murder game. She wants to create coffees and desserts matching various plots of the game and to creating new stories in the future. It is genius to line up her cafe with them inside and outside the game to increase traffic and interest in both companies. When she handed him the proposal he accidentally comes across her divorce papers. They are having a taste test of proposed game offerings and Yu decides last minute to accompany Gong. It is hilarious that he is getting acting tips.🤣😂 He checks online as to who is the better Qin. Yu dared to question Xiu about spending too much time in game. I loved her getting right in his face listing off everything she specifically did for the project to include the financials she just gave him. She dared him to find anything lacking in her work and said her off time wasn’t his business. 👏🏻 I love Xiu and Zhao hold their own. They go right to the heart of the matter without flinching. It is no wonder these two are close friends. Yu can’t rebut because he knows he is in the wrong. He just doesn’t want her mad at him in game or real life. Zhao gives Xiu a pass and Yu diverts actor to another role so he can play. Xiu finds out so she and actor plot to get ring from Qin. That is thwarted but Qin offers to keep her alive if she sticks with him. He is heading to candied hawthorn stand to make a deal for the ring and finally notices she is no longer behind him. I laughed out loud at her stomping when she found out Yu was in the game. But Mr 6’ plus forgot how many steps her 5’plus has to take to be close. Her heels are raw and she changes course. This episode doesn’t reveal if she departed game or just Qin’s vicinity.

I want to slap Yu upside the head for being in I don’t deserve happiness mode. Xiu sweetly wants to start off the new year with mulled wine and a kiss which Yu rejects without explanation. He just goes with ending lease early.😝 I knew he was going to send Gong to pack up and I knew she was going to return the dress. The one quiet aside is he did strike a cooperation with the 3D place Xiu found. The only condition is it had to be confidential. This is another Darcy stunt at doing for her while being distant and minimally communicating. 🙄Zhao checks hubby’s phone and finds Jr’s messages. He has been pegged a cheater since he showed up on drama but this still feels off. I think he originally saw her as the means to get his project approved through whatever work she is doing for him. But she opportunely gave him a kiss that he didn’t rebuff immediately. I am waiting til his reaction next episode before I decide if this is work or work with benefits. 😝😡The really sad thing is Zhao saw it. I want her to confront him directly and for the air to be cleared. Since he deceived yet again, she has every right to determine how this plays out for them as a couple. The one lesson he still hasn’t managed to learn is to be completely up front with her. His idiocy in this regard may just have cost him the love of his life. If it does, I can’t say he doesn’t deserve it. Zhao was the innocent party supporting him no matter what. She deserved that same respect from him. If he can’t see that, he needs to be out of her life. His desire to have all the bigger and better things in life weighed more value than his wife’s partnership. His ego to be the provider rather than the partner got him into this. He has a long way to crawl up just to get to basement level.😝He didn’t even recognize his wedding anniversary gifts were the same. I wanted him to be the good guy for her and he just wasn’t. I am as sad as Zhao that he appears the cheater even if he really isn’t. Whether he planned it or was trapped by a conniving young woman doesn’t matter now. Zhao gets to decide if it is forgivable or if he is forgettable. 😝 It is for sure Xiu will be there for her like Zhao was for Xiu after breakup. I was completely mistaken that she was the nightmare one sided crush from college days he wanted to forget, but she sure as hell will be his nightmare now. Pei has shown up with gifts in hand trying to garner the favor of the Dynamism staff. The team teases that the gift of chocolate was much more personal. Xiu is given the job to work with Zhuling on worksite to help oversee things. She has busted her ass working on the design and truly is the best one to do it. I like that Ms Zhou gave Yu a heads up to ok Pei’s request for Xiu. He respected Xiu’s capabilities and knew she deserved the job more than the differences he had with Pei. On the way to the site she forthrightly lets Pei have it what her stance is with work. That she wants things professional and not be used in any fashion to assist in their family squabbles. She outlined his maneuvering specifically and called it for what it was. That set him back. At the worksite she sees Pei on the job and surprised he can get out of his custom designed suits to work side by side with the contractors. It is a side she has never seen of him. I hate that he liked her favorite sleep song….but even a snake can be charmed.🙄 I liked that she wanted to start things fresh on a professional level and stuck out her hand with a smile. She is determined to go forward with this project with her usual optimism and straightforwardness. This is the career she loves in spite of these two ‘brothers’ interference. I want her to shine. Yu is on to something that will show Pei uses lesser materials. He has requested their financials for the previous year and elder Pei and Mr Shen are sweating a bit at the specific request. Pei has noticed the reaction of his dad and the need for a few days to adjust things. This goes back to Yu’s remark that is niggling the back of his brain. Yu knows or suspects something and waiting for the chips to fall.

After coming home Yu wakes up to find Xiu gone. Xiu has been canvassing unknown turf determined to find the 3D tech they need not manipulated by Zhuling. She happily comes back with contract in hand to find out she is late for Lyman banquet and needs to hurry there. She is dressed more like game reporter than elegant lady. She really doesn’t care as she spars with Pei on the way in. I love her confidence and the fact she’s not the least bit impressed by Pei because of how he does business. She has no fear putting him in his place and letting him know the low estimation she has of him at every opportunity. Ms Zhou tells her to hurry up and glam up before she goes out to the masses. She is told she needs to dress to impress. Inside the package is the elegant gown Yu admired in the window. It is perfect for her. 😍As she strides in, Pei is impressed at the change and even salutes Yu and Xiu with his glsss. Not so they can see. She walks right up to Yu and rescues him from the circling debutantes determined to get Yu’s attention. She doesn’t profess to be anything other than who she is, an architect colleague. But she nicely puts them in place like schoolgirls attending a rally. She assures them they will be most pleased in what Yu has to say. She is telling him all about the company she has found and ready to sign a contract with when he breaks the news they are teaming with Zhuling. She is stunned by this news and can’t quite take it in. She decides to return the news by accepting a dance with Pei. I wish she would have stomped on his feet harder while stumbling.😝 Yu broke up the dance by making Pei come up and give a speech for Zhuling. Here is where Ms Zhou lets Xiu know that it was all Yu’s doing about the dress. She ponders that while she is out on the balcony away from the crowd. Yu apologizes for not telling her earlier and now understands all her absences. She forgives him because bottom line it is his call and she has accepted his beautiful dress. She also realizes that it was absolutely necessary and not last resort because Yu doesn’t work any other way. This makes him give another full smile. She wanted to invite him to spend the new year with her family but he was too busy evading her with other plans. We are led to believe he is going to his mother’s home but she is greeted by a phone call and delivery person. Pei is hiding upstairs. He doesn’t want any more of this forced socializing than Yu does. I am glad he is not there but visiting the uncle that has always supported him. He reveals that he is just about ready to clear his dad’s name and that things are in place. He finds himself in the lane looking up at Xiu’s house where he is caught staring and invited in. He gets to see what home really is looking at Xiu’s loving family. It is so opposite of all that he knows. It is bittersweet as he wishes her a new year with no troubles. Zhao finds out her hubby quit his job five mins after a new contract is signed. He is exhausted and she is annoyed but they work it out being spinning tops.😂🤣I am hoping he finally keeps her in the loop and has total transparency with work now. These two greet Xiu from her family’s house and everybody seems to be in high spirits with one exception. Yu is on the path to revenge and will let himself see no other option. He has even turned his new project over to Zhuling to set his plan in motion. He needs to have his name cleared especially because of his line of work. But what will it cost him to accomplish this?

Qin saves Xiu from the jerk by shooting the chandelier. Everybody scatters and they escape to outside. There is a moment when he asks about the watch and she tells him she will rely on her intuition and never betray him. 🥰 With the game, I am grieved with Xiu’s friends. They were so busy getting couple time for a change that they did not even once check on their friend to ascertain what kind of guy this “client” was. They not only left her flat they put her safety in question as well. This came to a head in the ballroom where that jerk claimed how fickle their friend was wanting to buy a new character, etc. he was verbally abusive and when Zhao stepped in he slapped her.🤬 Before hubby could respond Xiu went and slapped him hard enough for his ears to ring.👏🏻👏🏻 The game police arrive and in the confusion a statue is knocked over and Qin saves her. This was heroic, but his hand was injured as a result. Xiu takes him to the hospital but she is scrambling around looking inept in her attempts to assist. She feels so guilty and he is so calm. Fortunately it isn’t serious, but there is soft tissue damage that needs time to heal. This is untimely because the project deadline has been moved up. Omg. That park director is such a creep. He is worse than Pei because he is a liar, handsy, and a bully. He tried to blackmail Xiu into a date so that her friend’s coffee shop would not be in trouble for allowing a live in resident. She now tries to bargain to get Yu to move out and he isn’t budging. He does give her the pocketwatch she returned to him. That will be a coveted keepsake. When she opens it, she finds a picture of Yu and his dad. This explains his desire to be on that lane. To reduce negative publicity of the incident at the game, they decide to reimburse everybody that participated and offer discount tickets, They need to keep members happy and this seemed the best way to go about it. Yu knows that Xiu is being pushy about the apartment. To the point she is willing to share. He has almost put the pieces together and having Gong check up on the cafe. He has just added 2 years to their contract and I am hoping will have pull when jerky boy complains about the cafe and its resident. If he dares bring up Xiu, I want to see exactly how Yu responds to that. I did not think anybody could creep me out more than Pei. But this sleazy overbearing bully is so nauseating in his behavior. That he will slap women in public without fear or regret just shows how amoral he is as an individual. This is not a client worth having. I hope Zhao gets rescued from him and gets to keep her business intact. She has worked very hard to establish it. Xiu feels guilty about him and her friend and is making herself Yu’s girl Friday to take on any and all tasks Yu needs assistance with. This amuses him some as he gives way to a hint of a smile, but he knows something is up about where she’s been staying. He wants Gong to find the missing pieces quietly.

The groom is sure nervous.🤣😂 He has mommy do the dirty work for him by locking Xiu in a distant room away from the guests. Yu has succeeded in getting Xie’s interest and he asks to see Yu’s designs. This is where Xiu was supposed to be in the conference room already. Her VR experience is paying off. She knows she can’t let her boss down so she climbs out the window. The only silly thing she did was try keeping one shoe on. That caused the ankle injury jumping down. She shows up at just the right moment barefoot and with designs in hand. Yu of course noticed but one thing at a time. He explains completely his position on seeking awards and has won Xie over. He wants to know how Xiu lost her shoes. She won’t explain but does accept the slippers. She wants to wait there til the wedding is over. He gives her a choice. He assures her he won’t be embarrassed by her shoes or if she wants to stay there and feel lesser because of her ex, she could enjoy the breeze. I am sorry he gets to go through the wedding. When he fumbles the ring and Xiu finds it, Yu won’t let her pick it up and looks right at groom making him bow at her feet to get the ring. His vows, he is not good at improvisations and it is clear what the audience thinks of them.😝When the bride comments how inappropriate Xiu’s shoes are, Yu agrees. But he directly asks the Ma in law to return them. She can’t deny because she is caught dead to rights by security camera, As she fumbles responding to that accusation, events change and the father brings the happy couple over to Yu and his date for a toast. I love that he looks at Xiu and asks if ok to toast the groom.🥰 He is paving the way for her but gives way to let her handle the situation as she chooses. It comes out that Xiu and groom were acquainted and why. She tells him what she thinks of him and tells the bride how her engagement was called off 3 months ago. Xiu suggests she cuts her losses early.😝 once again Yu is giving her shoes.😂🤣 He then offers piggy back carry to spare her ankle. She is concerned her situation with ex will change client’s view of him. He agreed that it might but he would just build him another award winning building.😁 Once back she asks to be dropped off at the game venue. He knows it is over but drops her there as requested and takes the time to observe where she goes. He has figured it out and calls her bestie filling her in that Xiu needs meds and a friend. These two are a very good support system for Xiu. She tells Zhao that once she found out she was only a place holder for ex, she no longer felt responsible for the break up or had any more to say to him than she did. She can let it all go and move forward. When she gets back to work their lead designer was no longer there. No surprise he was the mole. When everybody is heading to Lymen’s for competition meeting, Xiu is behind getting documents and runs into him. She tries to prevent him entering and enter arrogant ass number one. He fakes the hero nicely and they share an elevator to meeting. He ends up being behind her when they get to the conference room. Xiu is explaining but Yu only has eyes for Pei. In the conference room, she finds out who her rescuer is, the heir of Zhuling and his name, Pei. Yu is listening closely and can tell from the conversation it was a happenstance meeting and no prior colluding. I loved that he did shake the jerk’s hand, but not until he stood up so he could look down while doing it.🤣😂 I got a lot of satisfaction from that move. He was still courteous but in like fashion as the offer.😝 It is no surprise that he lobbied for the snooty director from Dynamism. It is nauseating to watch this pseudo gangster atmosphere with his henchman slapping the poor shmuck surprised he’s been lied to. He has caused his own career demise and isn’t going to find sympathy from the boss he left or the boss he thought would be next.😝 Can’t feel sorry for him and only glad he will have no career influence over Xiu. He has made himself persona non grata and received very quick karma. Glad he has all those degrees he likes to brag about.😝🙄The name change comment reveals some history between Pei and Yu. Whatever went down, it resulted in Yu’s name being changed and Pei being asked to address him by the other name. He smirks at Yu but pays too close attention to Xiu. His character just gives you the shudders in how overtly snakelike he comes across. He makes no effort to hide it. He thinks that is part of his powerful charm.😝

Yu was the absolute gentleman considering her room was locked and she only had mayor key.🤣 He made her as comfortable as possible on the couch and locked himself in the attic. Literally😂🤣 It is broken and he can’t get out. There is a very sweet exchange from upper and lower balconies.🥰 She was quite bold to request design plans from his earlier works. He passes her a contract to sign before she sees anything.🤣😂 He reflects in the game. This seems to be where he just soaks in the scenery and lets his mind free. After getting him out she is all flustered not wanting to seem a couple to work colleagues. He is not the least bit concerned and just asks her if he appeared the type of person to hire somebody that wasn’t qualified? Her lack of response shows her fear of company gossip. His partner was quite impressed with Xiu’s designs. She didn’t expect to see what Yu saw first……untapped potential. When they arrive there is negative publicity about how the company gained contracts and they are disqualified from the competition. Zhuling GM has completely misled Mr Sun and they are congratulating each other on keeping the uncle safe from bad news. I really hope I get to watch this GM bite the dust hard.😝 There is a loss of morale at the company but Yu doesn’t seem worried about it. It is definitely bad because his mom has called and they are coming there to form a united family front. She warns him to not react as his father did. Whatever happened, his dad was the fall guy and committed suicide as a result. This is the crux of his trauma. He was given the mission quite young to work his hardest and untangle the threads to find the truth of what really happened. They were supposedly given a meeting with Mr Sun but he was out playing golf while they were waiting at his office. Yu knows there is a mole in his company and waiting to see what they do next. The biggest relief is to find out what was up with Zhao’s hubby. When she ran to the door and it was opened, it was like a nerd gaming convention.🤣😂 He is maintaining his job and trying to form another company with this group that will provide significantly more career growth. They are sweet walking hand in hand with her plotting how to assist. They make plans for the future and her evening ends much better than she originally expected. I am very glad for both of them.🥰 Yu gets himself invited to a very exclusive wedding. It was being held at a hotel he designed on a private island. He lets her know that she is his date for the wedding. Xiu takes it in stride til she sees the groom. Guess who? Yep…the slime ball that deserted her at her engagement party. At first I thought Yu knew about the groom, but he was surprised at the reactions. He had come for an impromptu meeting with uncle Xie to get himself back in the competition. Xiu is trying hard to get as far away from everybody as possible and finds herself congratulating the bride. When she mentions a flash marriage, the bride wants to know how she knows about it. The episode ends and I won’t find out til tomorrow how this plays out. I am curious what she will choose to do now that she’s here at her ex’s wedding. His mother alone was a good reason to be happy they did not become family. What I would like to see is mom and groom coming face to face with her. It will be a very long wait til tomorrow😝

Hu Xiu is currently in a slump. She started off quite driven in her career, but put progression on hold to help her dad get the surgery he needed. After that, she decided she would just live a happy simple life and get married. At the engagement party, thanks to a techie teen playing with her laptop, her message from fiancé to end things and that he wouldn’t be back got broadcasted to the entire room. A month later she is still wallowing at her friend’s house and is gifted a ticket to an immersive murder mystery game. She goes reluctantly but gets sucked into the VR experience in spite of herself. Loved the costumes of the time period. 😍 She changes into the costume as directed but assumes she will sleep off most of the time to get full value of the ticket. The game did not permit that option and she finally looks to see who her character is. She is a chemist with a PhD and a small package of opium. The police are at her door and on the street so after fleeing via window she sits down at a diner and starts eating the candied hawthorns on the table assuming the man in black is an NPC. She finds out he is real when he defends her from the police officer and then has her choose between him and another candidate for mayor. Everyone seems surprised she chose the warlord. As the game progresses the opium has caused her the biggest trouble. Her holdup of the thief with a twig was very funny😂🤣 she gives the formula to the warlord who tells her how to escape the city. As she is running to freedom….two shots are fired and she is first one killed in the game. Due to a leak in her apartment she leaves before finding out the results. When she looks it up, she discovers that the man that saved her is also the one that killed her. She is tired of losing and gets another ticket to try again. First time she was dressed in white and naive, this time she is dressed in black with a gleam in her eye for a redo with the warlord. Whoever he is in real life, he was signing a contract at night on a building top surrounded by men in black. He seemed very like his game character.

Everything is now red beans celebrating their relationship. 😁 Jie is liking the snacks but wants some explanation about the red beans. 🤣😂 In this episode the two companies are discussing the design and placement of solar panels. It is agreed that it still needs tweaking. XiGuang did not speak up at the meeting but there were ideas discussed with her auntie afterwards. Making waves with the ship design sounds like a good plan. Mr. Hua😂🤣 he won’t attend a meeting to save his life but he really wants to share his ideas. So it’s a big U turn to help bail out uncle and share the design ideas. XiGuang’s Gpa is having dizzy spells and Gma wants a visit. Dr Lin makes himself available and the grandparents get to meet the new bf. They both get ash face paint from wood stove lighting.🤣 He offers to be next chef but refrains from any more stove fire tending. 🤣 Gma can’t wait to show off the visiting doctor bf and soon every senior with an unexplained physical exam report is filing in for his expertise.🤣😂 Gma can now verify that bf is indeed handsome. There is a ringing of the doorbell and a group of gentleman are demanding payment for real estate ventures. Faux family talked them into investing and the old coot took the money and ran. Nie is being held accountable and they run to his parents house to cause trouble. While he is at the company saying why he won’t invest he gets a call from XiGuang and heads home to face the music. Glad Lin was along as the rudest guy thought he was gonna intimidate her. He went from looking down on her to looking way up at Mr tall dark and bordering angry and changes his tune. The bottom line is most of these guys invested their life savings and now have nothing to show for it. Waiting to see how Nie talks his way out of this one since real estate is so damn reliable.😝

As luck would have it cousin and entourage run into Lin and XiGuang’s group. Both groups have plans for the site. It is always to one’s advantage to be underestimated. Lin does a decent job of pretending he’s hosting his gf’s family on a tour of the premises. They did a top notch job double teaming the “delightful” cousin😝 and auntie approved their efforts. 😁It is laughable that he thinks Rong can be his spy on XiGuang.😂😝 It is hard to know if Gpa pitted his grandsons against each other on purpose or not. He’s probably grinning on the sidelines waiting to see his favorite win the race. 😁 I smirked when he acted nervous. He’s arrogant, but not stupid. Rumors run rampant at the bank and Chris is getting the worst of it. Wingman and Xu supposedly battled on the slopes for her attention and that’s how he got hurt. Now Xu is accused of brown nosing and using his ‘connections’ to get his position in investment banking. It couldn’t be because he worked his ass off and earned it. He finally hears and understands better the consequences of fake rumors. Even now he doesn’t think about Chris, he texts an apology to XiGuang—that he lacks the courage to send. He goes to dinner with Jiang Rui and questions him about that summer abroad. He’s looking for sympathy and maybe a better wingman. Jiang Rui continues to be the sweetheart brother. He calls and chats with XiGuang to clarify misunderstandings and tries to put Xu in a decent light. You can’t be annoyed with him because he was right there up front watching his cousin crush on his tutor. He’s making sure his cousin isn’t settling and with the guy she cares for most. There is no denying his relief that Lin is her guy. But it’s sweet he felt duty bound to be sure he hadn’t messed up an opportunity for her. She compares the two she loved as a candle and the Sun. The one flickering and dimming to fizzle out and the other radiant and a full partner. There is no doubt who is the better man.🥰 They are cute shopping and she does a mysterious side trip. How many surgeons does it take to clean a lobster?😂🤣 After both bragged about capabilities, she had to look up instructions for him and he teased her about the extra lobster she was being generous with.😂🤣 She gets him to go to his study and he sees the red beans in the bowl. She starts to explain about the bday party and he said he figured it out. I loved his response when she asked him why he didn’t ask her about it. You came to me and jumped in my arms.❤️ After receiving the last red bean he did admit he had some fear but no longer does. Their hugs say quite a bit. I like that they are physically and mentally supporting each other. Not gonna lie I’m glad they’re also spicing things up. Karma has hit Xu and I can’t feel sorry for him. This will broaden his EQ horizons and maybe force him to grow up and get over himself.😝Wingman is just kinda dumb. He’s like a puppy that’s cute but makes messes everywhere he goes.😂🤣 Chris needs some support because she’s getting kicked for being a decent person. I want things to change for her quickly. Looks like it might be an overnighter at the bf’s house😍☺️

The evening was going well. Xu’s colleagues were trying to get him and Chris some alone time. I really like her. She is bold enough to lay it on the line with her feelings for clarity and then give Xu hope for his dream girl. She even does this on her bday so that it will be settled for her once and for all. There were no mean intentions to XiGuang, she just heard blabbermouth cousin at resort and was unaware of their updated status. She also let him know he would be hard pressed to win the girl over Lin. She is such a good person and I hope she finds a more worthy guy very soon. Rong has managed to show up at the karaoke place and as usual flaunting her wealth and checking to see the status of everyone else. Once again XiGuang very calmly and rationally defends her job and its future and shows up Rong for being the petty wench that she is. I wonder if she was aware her friend had pined for Xu along with her? Probably not because she was too busy bossing her around.😝 Xu knows about her confession song and sings it with her in mind. She makes excuse to leave shortly after and he of course followed her. All the things he should have said in college came pouring out. Funny how he never felt obligated to declare his status with Rong but expected that from XiGuang about YuSen.😝He never should have touched her when she was getting into the cab. I am glad she protested loudly and long while clearing her name about his accusation. She has made it very clear where she stands, who with, and has left nothing open for debate in the future. I like how Rong strides by without even looking over making her opinion of him clear as well. They are giving him this very long emotional scene with tears in front of his college friends and I can only roll my eyes. It’s a wonder XiGuang makes any efforts to keep in touch. That just shows what type of person she is. YuSen shows up and knows something is up because she went there instead of him picking her up. I love that she hugged him tightly for comfort and seeing him as her strength and support. She then gets introduced to YuSen’s professors and he tells her the story of how they met and how he wooed her. The only stipulation is if he chooses this venture, he has to cut ties with the company. For now it’s not an issue because they need time to set up a lab. There is a different song on the radio as they head home but it’s a good song for them. At work she is teased about the boss checking in and she reminded Jie that prior to work time he was the bf checking in.🤣😂She gets a business call from auntie who wants to know if she is interested in a collaboration. This of course gets a cheerful yes and they will meet to discuss the details.
