How can seven tests keep giving me wrong answer?

Pregnancy is the last thing to cover for the young women in this drama. Personally, I wanted this to be the joyful ending for TQ and SCC after a perfect wedding ceremony. But that is too damn predictable and the last thing this author wants is the expected response. So she makes LY and GY expecting parents. LY is especially unprepared due to the safeguards they had in place to prevent this. Throwing the parent issue in this direction gives the author a much bigger spectrum of reactions and dilemmas that would have not applied to TQ and SCC. At the company, everyone is pitching ideas for an offline store and SCC is wanting other options than those offered. TQ is in sync and thinks he knows what she has in mind and will present his idea later. LY gives a panicked call to SCC and she pleads sick to leave early to meet up with LY. I did laugh when she said GY was quite capable🤣 When the ladies get to the ob/gyn she learns she is about 6 weeks along and sees the heart beating on the monitor but is far from happy. We learn more about her past and why she has no desire for marriage or family. The fact that she and her dad are both artists makes her even more unwilling to consider children. What if she is like dear old dad and a complete failure at it? They bump into GY and his mom at the hospital and it’s a bit awkward. She’s decided she doesn’t want to tell GY and makes SCC promise not to tell. GY is smart and clever and figures out what the pink pamphlet is about. Here I can say Huang Si Rui does an excellent job acting the hormonal crazed female. She is very believable in her mom to be status.

The invisible woman

In this episode Su ChengCheng finds herself invisible. Not only is she not seen, she cannot be heard except via txt. While she often felt invisible by those around her, here she is learning who actually sees her. They continue to search for the flower lady and learn that she died two years ago. So now they have no idea who actually sold the flowers. Tang Qi is doing his best to comfort her and make her feel as optimistic as possible about removing the filter bracelet. Tan Jian Ci and Li Landi masterfully convey the gamut of emotions during their quest. They bring the cute, sweet feelings of first love; frustration and comfort about the filter; the utter anguish at almost losing the one you love most; and the calm resolve to persevere together no matter what. The second couple are equally adept at making their circumstances heartfelt and substantial. As the episode concludes the gig is up and Su ChengCheng’s family are wanting answers.

He is everything Han Jeong-u isn’t. He takes on the guardianship to acquire whatever monetary gain he can from the situation. I had a good laugh at the hazmat suit Geu-ru used to clean house and his recital of all the traffic violations the uncle had made to get to job site. Probably in the order committed. 🤣Right when you think you can’t meet anybody worse, enter the deceased relatives of the next case. The depths they were willing to go for cash exceeded Cho Sang-gu’s. Geu-ru is determined to discover what the deceased wanted her family to know.

I am a super hero

Jiang Long is so funny. He is really talented and should be recognized more. In this drama his character Cheng Xiao Shi was born with a unique magnetic field causing all things electrical to act up around him.. He considers this his super power. As the episode begins, he admonishes a fish seller for cheating an old woman. This results in the vendor getting some guys together to beat him up in an alley. Electrical sparks, strange music and a mystery man up the stairs succeed in spooking them so that his pummeling is stopped. This same stranger shows up at his photo shop and tells him he can travel through pictures. CXS thinks he is crazy but game to try it just to shut the guy up. And now the real story begins as he finds himself transported into the person in the photograph.

Meeting the parents

Tang Qi’s mom pays a visit. She is so enthusiastic that her son is finally dating that even meeting a montage of disguises without actually meeting Su ChengCheng personally doesn’t discourage her. 🤣 she is a bit baffled by it all but still happy as he quickly sends her home. Gu Yu and Tang Qi also compare notes on how to please the dad. šŸ˜‚ There is a book exchange with promises of info shared later. Tang Qi survives the first encounter and dad is shocked and relieved that both will be first time daters. Things take a more somber turn when Su ChengCheng becomes invisible. Tang Qi did a great job covering for her. But the quest is now on to find the flower lady that gave her the bracelet. The latter part of the episode is so sweet and tender. Tan Jian Ci and Li Landi give an excellent performance in showing such loving concern for each other. Their acting squeezes your heart and makes you feel their joys and sorrows. You are totally swept into their world and for better or worse want to join them no matter where it leads.

Wagers are made

In this episode Zhou Yi Ran’s character A Shu is the young thief demanding Yuan Mo replace the ID he stole from her. So he makes a wager with Wang Kun Wu that if he is successful in finding the missing crossbows that he will help A Shu get an official registration. A Shu follows Yuan Mo home to find a ransacked housešŸ˜‚ He has a great eye for treasure but his house cleaning skills are nonexistent. She finds his map and they plot out the hiding places of the smugglers. He finds burnt shards of a leather map and together they figure out how to align the pieces. This not only reveals the location but assassination target. He gives the information to his superiors and Wang Kun Wu forms the perfect decoy plan to capture the would be assassins. Just as it was about to unfold it is interrupted by the military leader and everything goes awry. The fight scenes are smooth and fun to watch. The military leader is adept with her weapon but she hurts and helps in equal measure. So far she is the one that most annoys me. It is more success than failure but Yuan Mo learns that the only registration his efforts earned was for A Shu to be his maid. 🤣 He is less than pleased that this resulted in the loss of his wine collection. šŸ˜‚ The leaders now know who they are up against but it is an elusive enemy. So now to decide the next move.

East vs west in Sifang Pavilion

Tan Jian Ci is Yuan Mo, a roguish gatekeeper of the west court. This first episode shows him taking his usual bribes to allow people access in and out when three things gain his attention. First there is a young woman stealing items of clothing and eventually a travel pass from a merchant. Second, the merchant knows his travel pass is stolen but chooses not to do anything. Third he meets his new boss and learns things are going to be run very differently. The east court definitely feels superior to the west and their rivalry causes conflicts when real investigative work needs to be accomplished. The new west court leader Wang Kun Wu is investigating weapon smuggling and stirring up things in both courts as a result. Yuan Mo has taken the travel pass of the young woman and they have a humorous exchange back and forth. She has interesting concoctions she can throw at people resulting in any number of maladies, most of which she threatens Yuan Mo with. šŸ˜‚ As the story progresses, Yuan Mo is revealed to be more than his mercenary persona suggests.

Love’s first kiss

The comedic delivery is well done in this episode. SSC and TQ run from the guards in disguise ending up at a vending machine. Here I appreciate the author turning the original not so meet cute to what should have been. He shakes a soda and drenches his face and makes an honest apology. He explains that the remark was for the stability of the makeup and nothing else. He reminds her several times that it was not the faces of her disguises that he fell in love with. It was her character and spirit that attracted him. A new thunderstorm has her face glitching and they make their way to the car. They are so cute discussing the bracelet tech like exchanging work info. They complement each other so well. He gets to see her face in various age stages and likes them all. The granddaughter has invited them to dinner to discuss the contract and while traveling there, SCC accepts that her face is frozen in gma mode. She volunteers to hide in the car and let him handle things but he reminds her she’s in charge and that they are in this together. He orders the food he knows she would prefer and Tan Jian Ci demonstrates his capable comedic talent by reacting to the spicy food. Li Landi is the perfect straight man and the duo make this meal a fun experience. While driving he understands why she can’t go home and puts together all her prior remote work requests. He then sweetly offers her shelter since closer than LY’s house. When she calls LY to cover for her, she is surrounded by SCC’s family at their house.🤣 so now the secret about her dating TQ is pretty much broadcasted on speaker. This is the first time older sis has been in the background while little sis is the princess with handsome boyfriend. You can tell by her demeanor that she doesn’t expect them to last as a couple but it seems to be more judging TQ than her sister. At TQ’s place while SCC is getting settled, he takes his sketches of her disguises and dartboard pic🤣 and clips them together studying them carefully. (very Shen Yi like) He recognizes how his actions have looked from SCC’s view and regrets the pain he inadvertently caused her. He gets a new piece of paper to make a new picture. He realizes he doesn’t have any good pic of SCC and calls GY to see if he has any. GY is pleased with his friend’s progress but his phone is down to family pics only since dating LY. I love that GY is going all out to provide extra assurances to LY because of her stance on relationships and marriage. They are also sweetly progressing and she is becoming more comfortable with them as a pair. TQ shows his ingenuity as he begins sketching. What he created was a beautiful painting of her in full costume from the fair. What touched me most was him filling in the face of his angel painting. His heart knew he hadn’t found the right face for it til now.🄰 She is hiding under the covers when he goes in to give her some warm milk. He puts the picture under her saucer and leaves the room. She looks at that first after he exits and they have a sweet exchange about what he painted and what he plans to draw in the future. In the morning the upload is complete and the new tech is inner monolgue. She tests it but doesn’t see anything so she’s not impressed with it. When she goes to the kitchen to see TQ, he sees her thought bubbles over her head and the difference of thoughts vs speech. 🤣. He is amused at the contradiction and responds more to her thoughts than her words. He eventually takes her to a mirror to show her. The two are adorable chatting about how to use it like a new toy that will let them sneak messages. This leads up to their first real kiss where her thought bubble is heartbeats and I hear Tan Jian Ci’s Heartbeat song……Don’t you hear my heart beat? Beat beat beat beat beat

My heart saw through everything before my eyes did

Tan Jian Ci and Li Landi come together in a beautiful fusion of acting that is pure magic. They are well matched and believable. This episode has them clearing the air about their misunderstandings and how well they mesh as colleagues. When SCC’s presentation was liked but not convincing to all the board members, TQ backs her up with specific data and statistics that supports her position and they agree to give her 3 days to get a specific client for the campaign. We are also enlightened about SCC’s insecurities about her looks when her cousin completely misunderstands her encounter with TQ and assumes it’s because she was rejected. Even loving families tend to label their children by physical appearance, athletic and/or academic abilities etc. and as pretty as she truly is, it is always less than in comparison to her sister. TQ is all about mending fences and has arranged a meeting with the granddaughter of the client they hope to get. She turns out to be an old school friend of SCC and their girl talk and actions completely bemuse TQ. He just watches and collects more data for that huge brain of his. He sits quietly by and only interjects when they want to know what specific bribe would entice the grandmother to participate. The search is on for the photo that will hopefully win her over. When he is leaving, the granddaughter offers him her high school love note which he politely refuses. He made sure SCC saw him reject it and that he meant business liking her. They are clearing up their misunderstandings step by step and it is very well done. The two are hidden in the back book-stacks pouring through decades old yearbooks trying to find the elusive photo and SCC shares a walnut with him. His sincere direct question and explanation of the cafeteria misunderstanding and her equally direct response as to her actual intent give them both food for thought. He finally accepts her gift understanding the spirit of the offering and let her know he dared to like her šŸ˜‚ And fortune is on their side because he has found the photo.

Whack a mole

GY and LY are my happy pills. That sweet granny just made my morning with her toast🤣 she is gonna be one of GY’s favorite people forever. His compromise of just being together with her on her terms was an offer she could not refuse. That first hug🄰 I am still grieved with her over the QST debacle. She had fun sharing SCC’s new toy and thought it a joke to literally play dead. It was not ok to talk SCC out of listening to her conscience. When I saw TQ set up the scene for SCC and LY I thought he was doing phase one of getting SCC to admit what she did. I thought it was funny making them run through their QST death scene and that he was simply collecting as much data as possible to test the limits of what she could do and making them sorry for what they had done. When he yelled for them to get out I just thought he was prepping for phase two. I was expecting him and GY to have a chuckle and continue plan for catching the company mole. When TQ was literally surrounded by all the disguises laughing at him I was shocked and very glad GY gave him fresh perspective. I thought he had recovered more than he had. I like GY’s response to LY asking if SCC and TQ would be ok…one is smart and the other strong. Someone else will be in trouble. TQ takes a walk outside with SCC and Vandai sneaks accompanying him. SCC is adept at whacking away the goon trying to injure TQ and get his blindness caught on camera. I am so glad they released this and next episode together so no waiting to see this part resolved.

Game on 🤣

Author redeemed🤣 TQ’s intellect figured out their scheme rather quickly. I am glad as that whole ambulance scene was annoying. The gleeful urchins need a take down and I am all for it.. I am going to enjoy the cold and calculating response to her foolishness. GY is a good helper and can grin from the sidelines. My absolute favorite thing….his QST dartboard.šŸ˜‚I am sure gma will appreciate her weekly visits🤣 Who knew I would want karma for SCC before mean girl.?😈

Fool’s errand

As much as I truly love this cast this QST arc is asinine. šŸ˜ Here I am disappointed in the author. šŸ™„šŸ˜
