KJ2025 This episode tells the tragic story of a baby put up for adoption. Everything was set until the couple learned that the baby had a congenital heart condition. This resulted in the poor child being handed about from family to family but never finding a true home. A picture amongst his keepsakes made him seek out the woman in Korea he believed to be his mother. He made several attempts to find her but she would not give her name or contact information; even after the desolate young man died in Korea. Geu-ru once again manages to literally piece things together and track down the newscaster in the photograph. Here he and Sang-Gu learn she was not the mom but familiar with his case because he stayed with her family til transit to US. She had always figured he lived a good life once adopted there, but learned that was not the case. She even learned that she had met him at a book signing, but he did not reveal his identity to her. He respected that she did not want to meet him but he still wanted to meet her. Sang-gu’s understanding of this was very special. We are now given insight why he refused to see his brother when in prison. It made both young men’s stories tragic because life would have been different had that one conversation taken place for both of them. They would both have received the loving family they were looking for. The one thing she could do was broadcast his case over the air in a newscast saying more needed to be done to help these children not claimed by any country. And the softness seen in Sang-Gu as he made breakfast for Geu-ru and Na-Mu; that was so long to happen but once it did, he has truly found his place in his family. He was surprised that Geu-ru knew he was adopted and realized he was lucky that his father loved him very much or his story would have been the same as Matthew’s. That was a poignant moment between him and Sang-Gu because Sang-Gu didn’t give his nephew enough credit in some respects and he underestimated his brother as well being truthful to his adopted son. But the lesson of love has finally sunk in if he can get past this last battle to get the deed and his contract back. Here again is where I completely loathe the lady manager. She is truly a piece of work in all the bad ways. This proves how well the cast acts since I am so invested in liking or despising them. I find these scenarios very believable and thought provoking. It makes us recognize the beauty and awfulness of death and how that impacts us in unexpected ways. That the final items in those heart boxes tell us their stories from beyond the grave and that it is worth our time to pay attention as noting a life well lived or cautionary tale of what to avoid. Either way it gives us the potential to be better people.

First, I absolutely detest that woman manager🤬 She said she did not ‘want’ to hurt a child, but never said she would not. I really want to see the strings cut with this woman and hope this fight truly ends it. But she is so evilly opportunistic that I am not sure how it can be done as long as she exists on the planet. This is juxtaposed with the beautifully done tributes from his older brother. The irony of thinking he is protecting Geu-ru to finding it as a memorial to his ten year old self making birthday wishes. After all these years to find out that he was not deserted and that his brother had never stopped looking for him to explain things. It is sad they did not get that healing conversation but is consoling that Geu-ru once again gets to the heart of the matter with his photographic memory of facts and his unrelenting determination to carry out this ritual he and his dad had observed every year for his uncle. As Sang-Gu processes the gifts and true reason Jeong-u never showed, he learns Geu-ru was adopted. This episode moves one beyond tears it is so impactful. The cast and production gave us perfect understanding of Jeong-u’s love for his family.

We finally get some insight about Sang-gu’s past and why he is so angry with his brother. The blossoming friendship with Kim Su Cheol and the tragedy of losing him. That manager is beyond evil in how she orchestrates things and I am very annoyed she has deed. I am surprised this episode did not make me cry. I was too angry at smug manager. I agree with the sis that Su Cheol waited for Sang-Gu to get out of prison to have a chance to say goodbye and then let his spirit go free,

This was a powerful episode. We see the quiet life of an elderly couple who love each other deeply, the social worker and young girl who kept an eye on them, and the callousness of the workplace where seniors are not respected or remembered. It is such an amalgam of bitter and sweet that rounds up the course of living a good life but with no family to carry on legacy. I like that the social worker opens Sang gu’s eyes to their predicament. He needed an education in understanding. I am glad that the plants’ meanings showed love and devotion. That to the end he took care of her and left on his own terms.

So many tears watching this. In spite of his efforts not only did big sis be the hero for school bus, she also left message for HX not to try again. This was done very well and her love for her brother and determination to protect those children was just so powerful. They did a good job with crash effects and the children singing in background made it more poignant. They run through a mini recap of their missions and finally have LY with white hair. I am hoping the end request results in a season 2 because this was very well done and deserves another season.

HX has kidnapped QL and is warning CXS and LY to not complete mission or QL would pay the price. Sister for sister. CSX understands the consequences no matter what he chooses so he’s off to train to find HX and trusts LY to find a way to save QL. Here we see just how twisted HX’s mind has become in his obsession to save his sister. It is a literal race to the sister to try to prevent crash in tunnel. CXS finds and tackles him but not before HX earns his sister not to take tunnel. He is jubilant this time in 2020 reporting to his mentor and quite pleased with himself. The 2023 version is waiting to see the new world order arrive because he has saved his sister. He is confident that he has succeeded because he has new memories of his sister. So he is now counting down the minutes to confirm she has survived and not crashed.

QL is finally returning and LY is anxious to get the USB info from his mentor. QL is so determined for him to get it personally that she has refused to look at the information prior to returning. CXS wants to help HX so goes to an earlier interview photo to be there at the right time. I have to confess I smiled when CXS told the interviewers why he did NOT want to work there. 🤣 He deserved a good memory from that farce of an interview. HX convinces CXS to set off fireworks as a tribute to his (HX’s) lost love. What we learn is that HX is trying to get the info before LY does because he is revealed as Vespa. The death in 2020 was not the reporter but his sister. HX has been trying to change her fate and has so far been unsuccessful. The fireworks was a marker he had put in to let him know his mission had failed and he needed to try something else. He is now with QL and creeping her out because he was the masked one following her. Now it will be LY vs HX directly.

QL is enjoying the northern lights with plushies LY shared with her. It is a sweet scene and the first time it did not feel sorrowful. HX is still acting weird and meets with CXS. He gives CXS a gift to apologize and also show a pic of a woman he loved who had died tragically. CXS is not sure how to respond to this information, but tries to give comfort. It also seems HX is fishing for info from him. QL’s trip is extended to find items from LY’s mentor. They had to work out a mystery of poem Stray Bird and tulip seeds. This leads QL to a mysterious bar that also provides storage for mysterious keepsakes. LY saves the day to figure out code and now another mystery presents itself. CXS and LY are still trying to find the masked man only known to them as Vespa.

ZXB learns she has much more in common with Master Bai than she thought. This conversation was roughing from the Wonton seller but I wish they could have spoken directly one last time. I also think had Master Bai been more open about her true feelings on some things that she and ZXB would have had a much different outcome. ZXB would have probably still left, but she would have been more encouraged to return earlier knowing she would be welcomed. Stubbornness can be a pitfall in understanding. But in spite of bad attitudes and misunderstandings ZXB has taken the place Master Bai always wished for her. It is sad that the wonton seller has left the area, his steadfastness in his love for Master Bai was beautiful. The opera house had no clue why he stayed, so we’re not expecting the shop to be closed. I am thinking he will see the places he wanted to go with Master Bai and show them to her in spirit. And he may even have second chance at love now. I find myself wishing him well no matter where he goes or what he does in future. He is a special person who loves well. CXS surprises LY with a new photo of Haibula on the correct day to find out what happened to LY’s mentor. CXS revealed that his motorcycle training was to assist in making this mission happen. Their friendship is picking up a level as they have better understanding of what motivates the other. Understanding someone’s intent can make a very different perception to what is actually happening. QL’s birthday party has CXS, LY and HX all at same place. It is a bit uncomfortable but they are working through it. The gifts are presented and QL is most appreciative of LY’s gift. He has made her a travel journal for Haibula and she loves it. The guys take a break to chat in bathroom and HX overhears conversation. He unexpectedly leaves the party with no explanation and CXS goes looking for him later. HX is completely unhinged and CXS has no idea why. He doesn’t tell LY the extent of the weirdness because he hasn’t figured out what’s going on with HX. CXS has LY find him similar roads in the area so he can train for the Haibula road. LY shows up with best gift ever as training begins. This cast continues to do a great job in pulling you in to the story.

ZXB and LY both find themselves needing to make amends and with little time left to achieve it. ZXB shows up at the hospital but is not permitted to visit because her friend won’t let her in room. CXS begrudgingly meets LY and LY tries to prove he’s sorry by burning his only photo from Jan 18th. Ugh the ijit just ruined it and CXS waited to intervene til it was worthless for traveling. He ends up drinking with ZZ for the rest of the night and still very angry with LY. JL actually comes up,with a pic of the umbrella and it is agreed that this would be their last mission together. The biggest surprise is that the tea owner bought the umbrella and returned it to the opera master. She never let anyone know about it because for her, the only one that could inherit it was ZXB. The master sends ZXB to find the tea owner to receive some items and she agrees not realizing the umbrella will be included. This episode is bittersweet as the teacher and student say goodbye and the time agents are getting ready to do the same. The mission was successful but the partnerships are ending.

ZXB leaves Chengya Society and the same time she leaves the umbrella also disappears. This causes the teacher to fall seriously ill and she cannot be comforted with the double slam of the loss of favorite student and umbrella. CXS has discovered the lies LY has said to get him to find out info on ZBX. He knows his friend is lying but no clue why. The truth unravels at the 2023 concert and while LY comes clean, CXS feels used and wants nothing further to do with him. CXS doesn’t quite have the right of it, but LY has done nothing to negate that summation of their relationship. His close to the vest treatment of his personal matters makes it look like he never saw CXS as a friend, but simply a means to an end. CXS now believes that the rules he was told of photo travel was one big lie and LY really has no defense due to his silence and stubbornness. HX has driven a significant wedge between them and whether deliberately or not, it was a successful blow to divide CXS and LY. ZXB goes to visit her mentor in hospital but doesn’t have the courage to go into the room. She has left who she thought was the love of her life, but learned he stole the umbrella when she left 15 years ago. Now she feels guilty and ashamed to talk to her mentor. She along with everybody else wants to find it. QL is using her podcast to bigger the net of information to try to assist, but so far only crank calls from that end. LY is dealing with some hard truths about himself and rightly questions his motives as mentor to CXS. He sees no way to make it right and CXS is making himself scarce with a don’t call me stance to LY. The actors continue to do a good job drawing you into the scenes and making you feel for the characters.

Most of this episode is about ZXB and her singing. She loves singing but has not completely dedicated herself to opera. She enjoys popular music as well and is happy singing it. She is also unsure of her heart. She is interested in this handsome guy, but she is not sure if she loves him. CXS did his best to plant the seed in her heart and at least it has rooted in the young man, but it remains to be seen if ZXB feels the same. This is the last photo to see how things go and CXS is ZXB’s best friend this time. So far things seem on track, but it still is to be determined. LG is being secretive about why he is so concerned about this matter so we have yet to understand its importance. HX has purchased a motorcycle for CXS. This seems a bit out of character for a therapist so waiting to see where this goes. CXS of course loves it but noticed something up with LY so waiting for another day to test drive. The actors continue to do a great job bringing you in to the stories of the different cases. It is a spectrum of topics which demonstrates how capable this cast is at portraying various characters and scenarios. Production does an excellent job with the transition from past to present making it believable and interesting.

Qiao Ling celebrates with Liu Ye as his last topic goes live. His name has been cleared and the beauty of his words and ideas are reflected in his books and final podcast. He truly saw the beauty around him in the small things we take for granted and consider mundane. It was a great tribute to his spirit and gets QL smiling again. She is finally moving forward and making plans to visit the place where LY wanted to see the northern lights. She now can do that without the deep sorrow and it will be a good way to think of him. Lu Guang and Cheng Xiao Si make a visit to the Chengya society. LG is being tightlipped about why he is searching for a particular singer but thanks to QL he finally gets a picture to find her. QL agrees to interview them on her podcast because there is insufficient interest in the opera house to keep it going. Everyone is hoping the publicity will bring in more people to support them. CXS gets motorcycle lesson for his therapy session with HX. He takes a turn too sharply and injures his elbow. He tries to conceal this from LG but isn’t successful. CXS enters pic and finds himself at an opera performance and the lead singer ends up hopping the fence to meet him.

So many tears these last two episodes.😭sang Ning heads to her school and says she will start a live broadcast when she receives 10,000 views. Once received, she tells of her wish to be in a specific class in law school. She wants to be in a class of the professor she admires most. She is looking forward to working hard and having him be her mentor. What she was not prepared for was an insidious evil man who had the legal know how to circumvent the law and accost young female students. His treachery and complete deceit with this is reprehensible. He completely undermined Sang Ning’s work ethic and made her feel like trash. He sexually assaulted her and made her feel that without his generosity she would never be able to succeed. He made her feel so dirty she did not think she could be saved. And he pushed her to a mental breaking point which is how Liu Ye became the inadvertent scapegoat to her need to punish and report her professor. She never even saw Liu Ye. She only saw the evil teacher invading her space and scaring her. As she tells her story the time agents are more understanding. They realize the stress she had been under and her confused mental state. They recognized the bravery she showed exposing him for what he truly was— a predator disguised as a mentor. It turned out that she was far from the first young woman he abused and others came forward as they presented their stories to the police. He is removed from his office and escorted out. I can only hope he gets the judgment he richly deserves in this life and the next. Qiao Ling meets Sang Ning at Liu Ye’s house and they share a very heartfelt conversation. Sang Ning asks to take his cats as the last thing she could do for him and Qiao Ling agrees. These circumstances are so tragic, but Sang Ning for the first time in a very long while has hope for her future and gratitude in her heart for them saving her. Lu Guang finds one photo that will let Qiao Ling tell Liu Ye good bye. Cheng Xiao Si finds out what his topic was and has it sent to QL’s inbox. They chat on the patio drinking beer and talking about wishes. CXS wants LY to make a different name for his topic and has him paint it on a graffiti wall as a memorial. He knows he can’t change the fateful event but he helps QL cherish every prior moment til LY departs for the subway. The trio heads to the graffiti wall to see the name and it is as beautiful and sweet as LY’s spirit. While I hate the mercenary chat of the book sellers, I am happy that LY’s words will be loved as he wished. Sang Ning was successful in clearing his name and I think he is smiling down on them all.

Liu Ye’s decision was so tragic. His young life ended because the pain of evil intentions was too great for him to bear, even with his friends trying to help. Once he considered himself truly guilty, his gentle spirit could not live with the thought of hurting another. Qiao Ling is taking it very hard. While eating, she and Lu Guang are both taking things hard and for once it is Cheng Xiao Si being the voice of reason; that they must not fall and give up but rise to fight on. QL goes to work and interrupts a live broadcast because it was the last show Liu Ye had worked on. She learned that the crane machine had been set up for her to always win. Liu Ye loved bringing her joy in simple ways. Qiao Ling shares with his brother that Liu Ye was a very good person and that he should never doubt that. Sang Ning is distraught at the outcome of her accusation. She has tried to make it right but the general public bullied her as much as Liu Ye. After talking to the time trio she has figured out another course to get the truth out there to clear Liu Ye’s name. And now we learn of her oppressor.
