On episode 14 now, this is the best drama so far this year aside from Pledge of Allegiance. I can't missed any parts otherwise I will lose the story.

I don't think you'll ever be content with whatever he'll deliver. Besides, you already determined it's hard for him to succeed. Actually when she was missing for 10 days++ none of either side making any comments, then Seven fans posted about Xu Kai adding scenes (since they didn't see 7 around, so they said XK added scenes in filming), that's where the whole pulling each other started. XK fans saying 7 has been missing for long time and dragging the drama crews while 7 fans saying XK added scenes that's why 7 is not filming. No side is innocent so let's stop this thing. Let it be CN fans problem only.

Yu Zheng is a scriptwriter and producer, not a director. Except for Huanyu's drama (Court Lady, Royal Feast, Yanxi Palace, Arsenal Military Academy and Untouchable Lovers), Yu Zheng was not involved in any of production in Xu Kai's other dramas. But he's the one who signed off the projects Xu Kai took. He negotiated terms with productions using Xu Kai's name but not in favor of Xu Kai. I think Xu Kai did received offer of good quality scripts, but due to Yu Zheng's excessive and unreasonable demands, these productions might shy away from taking Xu Kai.

If different platform, they can drain each other heat. BOR is iQiyi, SEL is Tencent, so they won't disturb the heat of each platform.

Douban also got lots of positive review which is rare knowing how douban like to roast dramas.

Yes I know about BoY, seeing the casts line up can tell they don't really have romance which is good. Sudden add up plot will ruin the drama.

Agree on this...they insert excessive romance just to coax female audiences. They don't believe the drama will sell if they stick to pure wuxia concept.

That's normal practice, once platform decided on the drama there will be 1 producer from platform, 1 producer from production company. Platform side will in charge finding investment for broadcasting.

It's called bundling, a heat on one drama can be carried to another drama. Saving costs and can make better data.

Do you know how much it costs to buy high ranking hot search during peak time? can reach millions Yuan. The money should be provided the company for personal hot search and production company for drama related. In SEL case, Siba is broke, they don't have a single high ranking HS. As for personal one, Xu Kai only has less than 10 high ranking HS since debut and all are negative one, he never had positive high ranking HS. That's why you see most people mocking him. BTW, the popular dramas are mostly having 1000++ (TTEOM got 5000++) HS, FIYS only had 62 HS and ALP 82 HS. In other words it considered cost effective word of mouth to be able to achieve FIYS and ALP result. But yeah, due to this he's considered small traffic and still being mocked. To achieve big traffic, you need to spent a lot in order to maintain fans before you stabilize. Most traffics have high existence after their popular drama due to their team effort maintaining them to be in HS and variety show. Btw, despite Xukai's status as prominent star in C-drama, he still shares same agents with a few other actors in same agency and he doesn't have proper team.

I'm anime watcher so this kind of drama still good fit to me so far. I'm aesthetic blind so vfx or anything didn't bother me so far as long as I can still see storyline and character settings. 😅

I heard that Siba wants these 2 dramas to air simultaneously to save budget on marketing the SEL 2nd female lead who is also in BOR. But Tencent got 4 S/S+ dramas airing at the same time due to they got TV slot (Youth Memories, Prosecution Elite, Here We Meet Again and A Date with the Future) so they could not afford to put another S level drama is same slot. That's why SEL go on air later after Youth Memories, Prosecution Elite, Here We Meet Again finished.

Tencent only broadcasting platform, the production is only Siba if I'm not mistaken. Also, they don't look like they seek investment. I didn't see any investment material.

They are a lot factors in setting up airing time for dramas. Production company also play roles there, most of them wants best season to hoard the audiences. Tencent got loads of money compare to Iqiyi and Youku, plus their main incomes are from animation and games, so drama is just part of it.

Funny but sad at the same time, the DongBo brothers lack of manners because they were raised by their uncles, missing their parents to teach them things. I enjoy watching them though😂
