Your reply is too earnest, ah my heart. My Q is - Does a drama having a happy ending play a bigger part than reviews, synopsis, scrolling down the page for comments etc - in that case, nothing can be done.
However if you posed the Q is it a good ending? My answer is: Yes!! Enjoy. It's my favourite drama of the past 4 years. Sorry for the fake out.
I have watched the finale (well for 2nd time, this time subbed)!!
Theories I got correct, though I didn't make many:
- Both guys turning up in that abandoned building. Throughout the drama, I never saw alternative choice scene happening. By that I mean, they show a flash-forward and it wasn't one over the other. Something told me fixed timestamps always had to happen. They could change it while it was happening, but they NEVER showed a scene, that didn't get a chance to play out due to prior decisions. Only thing I didn't predict was that it was suicide, by ep 7 or 8, but by 11, it was very obvious, girl was on that end. I also thought he'd hit her with the needle, but he didn't
- CYR is misunderstood, but not a bad girl
This drama will be rewatched by me later this year with a mate (hopefully). One bugbear - how does the future Dr have the rock that hit Chen Yu Ru and know it's significance before the time-travelling even happened. If he already knew, why not make earlier effort to get the cassette
Anyways if u think about it - this drama is trying to make us ship a 27yo woman and a 17yo boy a 17yo boy and a 6yo girl a 27yo woman and a 38yo man (which is a-ok, crack on)
After I had time to cool down, I agree that I was being too harsh on CYR. I'm glad ep13 give us the chance to…
I was originally going to respond after I watched subbed ep 13 - but I probably won't get a chance till Wednesday night. So might as well do it now. It wasn't just you, quite a few people were. And I got it. Her character was veering dangerously into meddling category.
WOW. she said all that? O.O Can't argue with that. It's ok not to be the life & soul of the party. People will look at CYR, and tell her to open up more. Talk more. Be more social. But why should she? If she doesn't want too. Though in her case, she WAS acting a little depressive before that, indicating she's not happy.
Hi, sorry for being late to ur reviews. It would feel wrong to just like the post on ur feed, and not read the review So I held of doing that false thing, until i actually read it In-between a 4 and 9, and u went for 9 lol Agree with you about "pretty bow endings" - ppl actually mark a drama down coz of not getting it. They must be 2 :/
Exactly. Special is not available on viki. I can even watch it raw.
We really need it though. I'm not unashamed to say I was crying by the end of it. Still will give it a 10, but why suffer, when this extra 15min is giving ppl life?
Initially, I thought that the ending was disappointing, since they lost all the memories from their time travel…
From reading your comment (yep, spoiling myself, but it was worth it) - I feel bittersweet but also hopeful. Bittersweet, because the love story we knew btwen LZW and HYX is gone. All that pining, all that waiting, all that trauma - and they never got to have that happy ending. But also hopeful, because what will happen in with the untainted, clueless versions. At least LZW, HYX will be in each other lives in brother/sister relationship or possibly more
The ending sounds good, I couldn't have hoped for anything more Can't wait to watch it...
I have read several comments (some around, some deleted), where they express a distaste for CYR, calling her selfish, vindictive and a bitch. Pardon my french. On one hand, I love the deep emotion being evoked and I can see why, but I find the idea of telling a depressive, suicidal girl (possibly) that she has all these negative traits is not helping the situation. It'll just confirm all the thoughts in her head.
One thing I don't understand, is why CYR is not warning her love that he will die in 2019, or seemingly care she will be murdered soon either. Yet, she wants to bask in this make belief life and enjoy good times, deciding to ignore HYX mission.
Does this make her a bad, evil person? No. Just flawed, but someone with sound reasoning even if it's distorted and not healthy. I would argue I find her character necessary for this plot, and neither HYX is better than CYR, or CYR better than HYX.
Of course we all support HYX more, she's the one with the epic love story transcending space and time, but CYR is a very real human casualty who is not deliberately malicious YET, just very lonely and unable to completely snap out of that way of thinking. I doubt she means to really wound LZW, though the way she told him HYX is a made-up character IS a little vindictive, but just a reaction to pain. I don't think she thought that would severely mess with him as it did or even cared to think, she's more self-involved to worry about that.
So if we're gonna be brutal, yh we can say she's "selfish, vindictive bitch" and feel justified, but I feel her character is too nuanced to just fall under this 1 category.
But this still doesn't make her a bad person. YET.
It seems the Koreans are suffering from face blindness a lot. I only heard of this illness after watching the…
It's a real thing >.< I learnt about it my brain lectures at uni i'm such a bad student, i don't even know which part of the brain needs to get injured for it to happen (cough, i need to revise)
Applause for this article. Good job friend. Anyone reading this will be so curious after it, because you are deliberately vague with the details, but enough to hook them

As to the original poster : no complaints from me. it does require focus tho, so if ur easily distracted, it could be a pain to follow

One one hand, I'd like 3 more episodes, but it's so well paced, there's a reason it's only 13
Happy viewing.
Deadass they have scenes from ep 12, put in that early
