I recently finished Long Zhu Chuan Qi (English title is something like the legend of the _____ pearls, can't remember the title for the life of me), it's a long drama, but I loved how the main leads interacted, loved the acting in this drama, just didn't like the ending. This drama is supposed to be part of a trilogy or something.
One of me top favorites would be Legend of the Condor Heroes (2008) with Ariel Lin and Hu Ge. It's a remake but they were so good in it!
Also, Schemes of a Beauty with Ruby Lin~ Omg, my dramas are a bit old LOL.
But tbh, never liked General and I. Didn't really follow the novel, really focused on war, but the other dramas are decent (Liu Shi Shi in at least 3 of yours, imagine how busy she's been LOL)
This is too boring for me, too based on war/politics and not much action. Romance makes up some of the drama, but that's less than half. I skipped through most of the episodes and made it through. One of the few "happy ending" dramas.
Oh right, I almost forgot about that LOL.
In the book, it was more based on the eye expressions (like Wallace Huo in Hua Qian Gu kind of character), but yes! Those subtle actions are already hinting that relationship ~~~
Even though they are entirely different dramas why do I get this TMOPB vibe???!! Tuesday night as soon as i watched…
To be fair, a lot of online novels follow a lot of popular motifs now and they are all very similar with their own unique characters. It's not surprising to see similar characters clashing into each other, especially since romance-oriented novels recently have been portraying this whole "weak girl, strong guy/strong guy doesn't realize he likes weak girl until too late/domineering guy, yielding female/strong male and female/masochistic plot lines" kind of thing.
Chu Qiao was 7 (I thought that's what I read) when she became the maid for Yuwen Yue. And judging from the drama, it seems like Lin Geng Xin has a hard time, cause in the novel, it was seen early on that he had feelings for Chu Qiao but didn't realize it until she spent like... a lot of years with Yan Xun (spoilers, sorry). I'm really not seeing how he's subtly revealing his feelings about her yet in the drama, but Yan Xun should be seen a lot more after the first climax.
EDIT: had to edit after I read it over and saw so many things that could be misunderstood. && realized that there are no new episodes on fridays T^T
Rooting for the drama as it progresses. Novel was meh. BUT I HATE THE DUBBING. Watching it on YT, makes me feel…
Always rooted for him in the novel, I'm really curious as to how this drama will play out. As other people noticed, LGX's acting is a bit.. but we'll see ~
If someone watches both cut and uncut version, comparison or just a mention of what is in cutted out parts is…
I don't watch the cut version, I only watch uncut versions of dramas. There's really no difference except the cut version has more episodes and is usually released faster based on the TV broadcasted version and they also cut the OST, I believe, while the uncut version has less episodes, and complete OSTs. I've noticed that sometimes production companies do tend to take a few scenes out due to certain broadcasting rules or what not for CERTAIN dramas, but not all dramas. It's only happened a few time, causing really bad drama scene cutting and illogical plot line, but so far for this drama, that doesn't seem to be an issue.
I only watch the uncut version because I rather sit for the longer episodes than the short ones. Sometimes the cut version video time spans are sporadic (30-45 minutes) while the uncut versions are also more consistent (45-47 minutes), which freaks me out sometimes because I don't understand why they would cut episodes like that >_>
sorry to spam here, but I felt into a rabbit hole of an unsubbed cdramas on youtube. Goodlooking, uncringy cdramas…
Web dramas are usually not subbed, plus these episodes last approximately 20 minutes each, so they rarely make it to streaming on television. Most of the dramas uploaded on YT are broadcasted by major broadcasting TV stations and usually last 30-45 minutes. Web dramas have less restrictions and at the same time, are usually featuring a variety of people, can range from really popular actors/actresses to people who are just starting their careers. To find people to sub the web dramas, there would have to be a dedicated fan, or they really like certain aspects of a drama in order to sub these things.
You can ask certain groups to see if they can put it on their list, because not everyone pays attention to web dramas, but the chances of it being entirely subbed is pretty low.

Anyhow, rooting for Yan Xun and Chu Qiao c:
They already took out a major aspect of the novel (time-travel), so anything can happen! :D
Tagging this as a spoiler in case people "complain" that I leaked things.
GUYS. SHE DOES COME FROM THE PRESENT. How do we know? watch the opening scene. Her tattoo from present life fades,…
The novel itself was a time-traveling novel, where Chu Qiao comes from the present as an elite spy/soldier (?). (Couldn't bother too much with novel, it was such a bore for me). But they took it out in the drama, it's just separated into Chu Qiao's hidden identity and her present, memory-less self.
Much love.
And although I didn't like the choices for main actor/actress in Eternal Love, definitely think it's the best novel-drama adaptation of recent years.
EDIT: And I read some of the comments, Nirvana in Fire is a definite recommend!!!
