I can stand the fashion back in like the old dynasty times but the fashion back in the '90s and early 2000s just makes me FDKJSLJDS. It's so hard to watch.

I speak Cantonese, but I can understand Mandarin in the Taiwanese/Mainland dramas most of the time, even better if there are words. Books are written in Chinese, uhs and I don't read Chinese novels :c I'm not that good. I can listen to the language, sort of read the language but I can't write :c It must be hard getting a grasp of Mandarin :( There are so many variations of Mandarin. I learned Mandarin from dramas, mainly. For me, I focused on one type of Mandarin (mainland) before switching to Taiwanese dramas' Mandarin. If you watch a lot of the Chinese dramas, I think you'll get a grasp of it someday. I don't know. I tried learning Korean the same way but can never get through the complicated conjugations of words.
And wow, everyone recommends MARS but I don't like the trailer. Maybe because the sense of fashion back then was...
It was almost never boring. I just hated the scenes where people kept on searching for the immortal pill. That kept dampening the mood but it was the center that pulled the leads together. It was sooo good c:
