He said it out of anger, he didn't really mean it, not that I am excusing what he said. I really meant is I don't…
My thoughts exactly.

Iโ€™m on episode 4, I like this one so far! So many characters surely thereโ€™s going to be at least one side…
The little bro is very cute actually. I wish there was an MC like him, one of these days.

I kind of see their characters as superfluous in general tbh, don't really care for the university plot
Totally agree. At this point neither Nuea nor Syn bring anything extra to the show. You could cut them out and that would make absolutely no difference to the show.

that intimate scene out of nowhere is cute but it bugs me because there's very little interaction and suddenly…
I found the scene a bit disturbing LOL. So Nuea is pining after Kuea, but he is fast to get in a somewhat romantically advanced situation with Syn, and enjoy it/take advantage of it. Right... That just doesn't make sense unless you're a a f*ckboi.

Right. But it's not in the show. I admire your dedication to the show, including watching cut out scenes, but if it's not in the show, why should I care as a viewer? But hey, thanks for letting me know.

Finally some *action* ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I'm willing to turn a blind eye to some less desirable parts of this show if they serve me some good quality R content๐Ÿ˜‰

I mean I've just assumed he said it to kind of dispel Kuea's fantasy? Because Kuea is clearly blindly in love…
Well, then it would make much more sense to say: "I don't like this part of you that pretends to be someone else. I would rather you disagreed with me sometimes. You change or we have no deal." Easy as that. And we could still have a show out of it.

I agree! It is frustrating to see this complete 180 from him , but we are following Kueaโ€™s perspective right…
I agree that this is how many BLs are paced. And that's usually ok, but I see a problem with it once it makes the show send the wrong message, i.e. that Lian's sort of behavior is generally ok. If it was clearly said that it wasn't, then it would be a whole another matter. But here we have Kuea's parents condoning, and even supporting Lian's manipulative, controlling ways. We have a whole long-ass convo between Lian and his best buddy about his buddy's reasons to mistreat Diao, and they make it seem like it's understandable, and like he has the legitimate right to behave that way. That is what I have a problem with. Look at the message the show is sending at the moment. Basically it's: if you're a bottom/weaker side of the relationship shut up and follow your partner's orders. And later people are surprised that there are so many cases of domestic violence out there, either physical or psychological ๐Ÿ™„ That's what I have a real problem with.

I disagree. If you are going to make a whole story out of it, do it in a way that it makes sense. I'm not sure…

I have a buddy who is Christian and in the closet. Nothing in his parents' behavior suggests they wouldn't accept him the way he is, but he claims sometimes when they talk about gay people, they aren't as open-minded as he would like them to be. They aren't like your stereotypical Christian family saying "gay people are an abomination", nothing like that, yet he is scared. He doesn't want to disappoint them. And I think he's scared of what potentially could happen if he told them the truth, probably because some people he knows have had huge arguments with their families on this matter. Fear isn't something rational. I don't think hard evidence is needed in order to induce fear. Quite the opposite actually, people are usually scared of the unknowns.

I'm not so sure about that. Since nobody (and by nobody I mean his family and Lian) seemed to know he had his own house, or what his hobbies were, I assume he actually earns his "second life" and everything in it with his music. I assume his parents only sponsor his "official" lifestyle as the young master Kuea.

Hey, thanks for saying that. That's exactly what I wanted to convey with my previous comments. And I totally agree about his doll-like side, IF IT WAS REAL, it wouldn't be unlovable at all. What makes this side of him annoying is the fact that it isn't real. Congratulations on coming out, btw:) ๐ŸŒˆ

Hey, it's ok:) Thanks for the chat anyway, girl.
I see your perspective as well, of course. Similarly to you, I hate lies, and would rather be blunt than beat around the bush, BUT I am blessed with awesome parents, my buddies who are ride or die, and an amazing bf, and all of that definitely helped to develop an open mindset. So I understand that not everybody is as lucky, and that this is a privileged position to be in, really. I have so many friends who aren't as lucky, and it kills me sometimes.

Wait, I thought it was already mentioned in the series that Kuea knew that Lian knew who Kuea/Kirin was? (LOL that sentence)

As for the Diao's backstory, that sheds some light onto his story, so thanks for the info. However, none of that has ever been mentioned in the series so far, which makes it sometimes hard to understand Diao's actions, and it's a bit far into the story for that.

No, I totally agree.
Also, I actually think Nuea might've been a nice distraction for Kuea, at least for a while. But I don't think it's going to happen anymore. Regardless, I don't see much chemistry between Nuea and Syn, and Syn annoys the hell out of me.

Well, we definitely have a different outlook on life, I tell you that ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
I see no reason as to why he should feel obliged to tell his parents about his lifestyle when he's of age. If they choose to sponsor him, that's their choice. But I get a feeling he earns his living (a.k.a. his own den, bike, music equipment) from his music. It's been explicitly said he produces music (remember when he sent that track to his manager/client or whoever) , so of course he would earn money from that.
Whereas I'm not saying that lying in general is good, I don't see a reason as to why he should be open about his lifestyle to the people he thinks might be against that very lifestyle. I PERSONALLY would be totally open and ignore what whoever else has to say about how I live my life, but Kuea seems to really care about others and what they say, so he chooses to refrain from telling the truth.
Much as it is frustrating, I understand that there has to be a reason for it. See, I was never in the closet, but a lot of people I've met in my life were. It's similar, isn't it? They were scared of telling their families about their actual sexual orientation, so why can't he be scared of telling his parents about his interests, if they truly are so uncommon and undesired for an "heir" to a quasi-"royal" family? Especially if he feels that his parents expectations of him might be different, or at least he might be under the impression that they are? I feel it's a great analogy. Some people might be afraid to tell others they are gay, some might be afraid to tell them they are (as weird as it sounds) actually cooler than a living doll they sometimes might resemble.

How many comments in this section are about Lian saying he didn't love Kuea in the first episode? Has no one here…
