I kind of see their characters as superfluous in general tbh, don't really care for the university plot
Totally agree. At this point neither Nuea nor Syn bring anything extra to the show. You could cut them out and that would make absolutely no difference to the show.
that intimate scene out of nowhere is cute but it bugs me because there's very little interaction and suddenly…
I found the scene a bit disturbing LOL. So Nuea is pining after Kuea, but he is fast to get in a somewhat romantically advanced situation with Syn, and enjoy it/take advantage of it. Right... That just doesn't make sense unless you're a a f*ckboi.
Apparently in the book Nuer is just used ad a plot device to make Lian jealous. So the show has given him a much…
Right. But it's not in the show. I admire your dedication to the show, including watching cut out scenes, but if it's not in the show, why should I care as a viewer? But hey, thanks for letting me know.
I think I saw somewhere it should happen after they leave the club. Where they go home and Lian apologizes and…
Finally some *action* ๐๐ I'm willing to turn a blind eye to some less desirable parts of this show if they serve me some good quality R content๐
I mean I've just assumed he said it to kind of dispel Kuea's fantasy? Because Kuea is clearly blindly in love…
Well, then it would make much more sense to say: "I don't like this part of you that pretends to be someone else. I would rather you disagreed with me sometimes. You change or we have no deal." Easy as that. And we could still have a show out of it.
I agree! It is frustrating to see this complete 180 from him , but we are following Kueaโs perspective right…
I agree that this is how many BLs are paced. And that's usually ok, but I see a problem with it once it makes the show send the wrong message, i.e. that Lian's sort of behavior is generally ok. If it was clearly said that it wasn't, then it would be a whole another matter. But here we have Kuea's parents condoning, and even supporting Lian's manipulative, controlling ways. We have a whole long-ass convo between Lian and his best buddy about his buddy's reasons to mistreat Diao, and they make it seem like it's understandable, and like he has the legitimate right to behave that way. That is what I have a problem with. Look at the message the show is sending at the moment. Basically it's: if you're a bottom/weaker side of the relationship shut up and follow your partner's orders. And later people are surprised that there are so many cases of domestic violence out there, either physical or psychological ๐ That's what I have a real problem with.
He said it out of anger, he didn't really mean it, not that I am excusing what he said. I really meant is I don't…
I have a buddy who is Christian and in the closet. Nothing in his parents' behavior suggests they wouldn't accept him the way he is, but he claims sometimes when they talk about gay people, they aren't as open-minded as he would like them to be. They aren't like your stereotypical Christian family saying "gay people are an abomination", nothing like that, yet he is scared. He doesn't want to disappoint them. And I think he's scared of what potentially could happen if he told them the truth, probably because some people he knows have had huge arguments with their families on this matter. Fear isn't something rational. I don't think hard evidence is needed in order to induce fear. Quite the opposite actually, people are usually scared of the unknowns.

I'm not so sure about that. Since nobody (and by nobody I mean his family and Lian) seemed to know he had his own house, or what his hobbies were, I assume he actually earns his "second life" and everything in it with his music. I assume his parents only sponsor his "official" lifestyle as the young master Kuea.

Hey, thanks for saying that. That's exactly what I wanted to convey with my previous comments. And I totally agree about his doll-like side, IF IT WAS REAL, it wouldn't be unlovable at all. What makes this side of him annoying is the fact that it isn't real. Congratulations on coming out, btw:) ๐

Hey, it's ok:) Thanks for the chat anyway, girl. I see your perspective as well, of course. Similarly to you, I hate lies, and would rather be blunt than beat around the bush, BUT I am blessed with awesome parents, my buddies who are ride or die, and an amazing bf, and all of that definitely helped to develop an open mindset. So I understand that not everybody is as lucky, and that this is a privileged position to be in, really. I have so many friends who aren't as lucky, and it kills me sometimes.

Wait, I thought it was already mentioned in the series that Kuea knew that Lian knew who Kuea/Kirin was? (LOL that sentence)
As for the Diao's backstory, that sheds some light onto his story, so thanks for the info. However, none of that has ever been mentioned in the series so far, which makes it sometimes hard to understand Diao's actions, and it's a bit far into the story for that.
Also, I actually think Nuea might've been a nice distraction for Kuea, at least for a while. But I don't think it's going to happen anymore. Regardless, I don't see much chemistry between Nuea and Syn, and Syn annoys the hell out of me.
