I sent them a request telling them the drama is already finished but so far complete silence. Also on the front…
Nah thank you for your insight. I used to have an old account here since 2016 or 2017 which I erased to create this new one a couple of years ago and yeah for the articles...It's pretty noticeable especially this year, my God... I've started to avoid the front page altogether.
I'm of the opinion that BTS or any documentary for that matter shouldn't be added to the database altogether as well... but again... they even list ANIMEs on this platform which is just utterly ridiculous so BTS are nothing next to that I guess...
Can't believe I posted a comment a year ago about watching this as soon as I saw it available on Viki... and here we are a year later... Finally starting it... Time sure does fly... I wish Viki would warn viewers when shows are about to quit the platform because I never know which old show to prioritize watching...
It was a realistic ending - they woke up from the coma. This means that all the events in the drama were just…
Thank you for the recommendations ^^
LOTFG: Oh I adore the show ^^ After all Dudu is He Yan's husband but Cheng Lei is MINE. It's just that since episode 26, the romance has taken a back sit. Still enjoyable but I'm a sucker for this couple so I wish we spent more time with them being sweet together.
Prisoner of Beauty: I enjoyed that one but still rated it 7.5... Show was slightly overly long for my taste... As you wrote, basically for me the main draw was how they got together... after that it's pretty smooth sailing so from episode 17 to the end... If felt a bit like an overly long epilogue to me especially since I had no interest whatsoever in the politcs onscreen. I also hated the last 3 episodes for obvious reasons... I thought killing you know who was unnecessary and to be honest I'm still pissed they killed the most lovable, romantic character of the show. I mean the ML was though in love with his wife, extremely prideful, but the bubbly bearded lovesick puppy got effed for no reason but inflict last ditch trauma to viewers. Curse them!
The Princess Royal: OK. That will be the next Romance centered story then. Thanks for the recommendation.
The Double is truly exceptionnal. Truly deserves all the raving review in my opinion... But I can't binge it. I've got a weak heart and I can't handle the stress... This being said, there's some lighter moments as well peppered in the show so it's not all tense and everything... It's just that I am weak especially since I can't binge these days due to lack of time.
For SOOY, I never skip scenes in dramas so I'm still gonna watch the second couple's scenes... I've just decided not to care about the brother and that fake friend of hers and consider them as part of the background... Otherwise I'm gonna be irritated senseless.
Thank you for all the warnings though. Now I'm mentally prepared for what's to come so I should enjoy the rest of the show stress-free ^^🤗
Most popular reviews are always the harshest whenever a show is really popular... See Lovely Runner's page. This…
Well before the show ended the comment section was pretty active but most comments were overwhelmingly positive. It's only when the show got near the end that the tide turned and people who didn't enjoy it started to be more vocal.
That's cool. Hopefully this will calm down in a couple of weeks. I don't mind people giving negative opinions about shows I like ( we're all different after all)... but you know sometimes people might not give a try to a show they would otherwise have enjoyed had it not been for these comments. That's the sad part.
Personally I pay more attention to comments than ratings but this is one case were it's better to look at both because no matter how bad the reviews, most people enjoyed the show...
As for myself, I'm still watching it since it's still currently being uploaded on Viki ( they uploaded episode 31 today and they seem to be going for 1 episode a day instead of 2 episodes per day the preview weeks)... So I still come here from time to time but obviously, the overall mood is no longer the same.
I think most people are already gearing up for Cheng Lei's new drama Shadow Love which should start on Sunday.
I'm probably going to skip this whole insanity personally. I'd rather finish everything I'm currently watching than start yet another show but I can't say I'm not tempted. I've loved him since "My Journey to You" (He stole the show for me) so having him finally in major roles, I can understand why people are hyped.
It was a realistic ending - they woke up from the coma. This means that all the events in the drama were just…
Thank you!
Like... I was just coming here to check comments regarding the last episodes ( Just watched episode 6 on Viki and they've only uploaded up to episode 14 at present) and I kept reading about people being furious about the ending and whatnot.
I didn't know Time Travel was banned in China.. I mean Reset is a drama that is all about being in a Time loop but whatev'.
I'm glad I read your comment... Well that sure is ANNOYING... I'm not sure I'd have started this drama if I had known... But I've already watched a quarter of the series and I like the main couple so I'm just gonna prepare myself mentally but it sure is frustrating. That also means Gao Rui is dead dead then...
You know I was watching LOTFG... but the latest episodes didn't have as much romance as the first ones ( Viki is currently at episode 30). I started the Double, the drama is GREAT, but stressful and the romance is were I am (episode 11) practically nonexistent so far. I started The King's Avatar. No romance at all in that one...
So I had decided to give a try to this one to get my romantic dose... And it is very cute between the two leads... They're honestly the only draw, but I like them enough to stick with all the secondary annoying characters...
Well if you have a CUTE Chinese romance to recommend which doesn't flip the finger to its viewers I'll be very happy if you could give me a recommendation.
guys pls send link to read the novel with english. or is there a novel book to buy? just send me link for both…
Book is not available in English, but the novels have been published in Chinese. It's 2 volumes, 3 books per volume and you can buy it on Aliexpress or any other Alibaba equivalent.
It has its flaws but I loved it.My fav female character in years. Surprised to see so much blacklash (but I agree…
Most popular reviews are always the harshest whenever a show is really popular... See Lovely Runner's page. This K drama aired more than a year ago, plenty of time for the ratings to drop but it is still 9 to this day. Yet the top reviews gave it a rating of 6 and 2 respectively.
Just don't pay attention to it. There's plenty of very popular shows, that I personally hated and rated "harshly" but that's a personal take. Every opinion is valid but if a show is really loved, people tend to support more vehemently the opposite opinion when they're part of the minority when they wouldn't necessarily bother otherwise.
Why won't MDL allow us to mark this as "Completed"?
I sent them a request telling them the drama is already finished but so far complete silence. Also on the front page you get 'iQiyi love on' which is... completely stupid given it's basically just a collection listing a list of dramas that already have their own separate page. Every time there's a new show airing, the list goes on i.e this will always stay there and pollute the website. There's 300 or so viewers "currently watching" this and yet this is listed as most popular...
This is polluting the front page and prevents others from seeing shows that are truly currently airing. It annoys the hell out of me on top of all the gossip articles that have popped up recently on this website. What the fudge are they doing?
Just want to know what's the maths behind banning time travel or rebirth concept???😒
From what I know time travel is not banned, only the reincarnation thing.
The reincarnation thing is because you need to die in order to be reborn ( and there was a wave of suicides apparently in China at some point which led the Chinese Government to censor it on TV) whereas there is no such thing as death involved in going back in time.
Though in this drama, it's a bit ambiguous... You could argue they died... before being reborn in the past... But you could also argue that maybe the elevator sped up faster than the speed of light and went back in time or something.
Someone plz educate my confused ass but the whole dual cultivation was mostly mental right!? Like mental intimacy…
I haven't started this drama yet... but just so you know, in chinese NOVELS, when it comes to "physical cultivation", it's the "whole business". I would expect it's the same here, hence drama censorship means you only get the "tame version".
We can't complain, if we then have bad dramas, we'll have more time to watch the good one ! I was in holidays…
Are you wishing for bad dramas now?🤣🤣🤣 "A Dream within a Dream" is another one I need to watch 😆 Too many good ones this year... On the other side, K dramas have been terrible this year so most of the time I usually allocate to K dramas have been given to C dramas for the past few months.
Wow the ratings for this drama is all over the place . Although I pay a certain amount of attention to ratings…
It's more a matter of you either love it or hate it basically.
This drama does require a rather high level of suspension of disbelief and has quite a lot of blatant plot holes that are hard to ignore even from fans, but it makes up for it for the romance and chemistry between both main actors. Action scenes are great albeit pretty unrealistic.
I'm watching it on Viki so the drama won't end before Sunday ( ep 29 and 30 today), but I've been feeling the tonal shift in the latest episodes. While the first 20 or so episodes were more focused on the romance aspect, the later part focuses more on the revenge part. There's still romance to be fair but SML takes an increasing amount of screentime which can be REALLY annoying if your main draw is the romance between the mains.
For me having spoiled myself the latest episodes, I'd say in spite of its obvious flaws, this show was a 10/10 until recently especially because I was in more for the heart-fluterring romance... For the last 16 episodes though, it's a bit of a mixed bag.
I still loved this show for most of its run so my heart is currently set on giving this one a ratings between 8.5 to 9.5 depending on what I'll see in future episodes.
I've watched some key scenes but I've yet to watch episode 29 to 36 in full so I'll be waiting for that before rating...
My take however is that this drama's ratings is probably going to go down in future months/weeks. Will probably settle around 8.5 or slightly lower.
It is a good show in my opinion, but if you can't get past the "suspension of disbelief" aspect, plot holes will start to look like plot craters and any enjoyment you could have had for it just vanishes instantly which in my opinion explains why you have so many bad ratings next to so many good ratings.
Both opinions are perfectly valid, it really depends on which type of viewer you are.
As much as I love Cheng Lei... I can't keep up with C drama release schedule... LOTFG is not even finished on Viki... I've already got When Destiny Brings the Demon and Moonlist Reunion on my mental Watchlist + all the bangers I never had the time to watch and which I'm trying to catch up. Now I have to add that one to the list.
My God! I just realized the evil step mother is Jo Chen! I mean Jo Chen... The only dramas I saw her in were 2005's Prince Turns into Frog, 2007's Ying Ye 3+1 (which I dropped) and 2008's Fated to Love You (which I also dropped). Can't believe it!
For the life of me I couldn't recognize her maybe it's because I've only seen her playing very bubbly roles with her natural Taiwanese accent but I just couldn't put 2 and 2 together when seeing her on my screen. Can't believe she's already 46! I just, I can't. I mean of course I know it's been 20 years but who would have thought, this bubly girl would now pay such an evil character?
I was going on a 10... but then I spoiled myself the last 3 episodes and I'M PISSED because I was robbed of a proper marriage + post marriage fanservice because of Chu Zhao selfish a**. I found his third wheeling slightly irritating but that was the last straw!
Won't go lower than 9 but won't be a 10 because of that, because I'm just ANGRY AS HELL. Hopefully by the time Viki releases episode 36 ( if I'm not mistaken this Sunday), I'll have calm down but man... I want to punch a wall🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
You can tell this drama is a winner by: 1. Terrible ratings in spite by MDL LGBTQ+ standard which tends to be pretty generous.
2. Dead comment section. This show has just finished two days ago but you can still see on the front page comments dating back to 7 months ago ( or 6 months once this one is posted) which can only mean one thing:
The show was SO BAD, people didn't even bother to hate-watch, they just dropped it altogether and never looked back.
Well that just won't be my next attempt at a GL drama then. I have to say, it's my first time seeing a comment section for an LGBTQ+ drama that is as dead as a Japanese show here.
I have been watching Cdramas for less than six months. I have watched enough to realize that most of these stories…
Well... I don't think people ignore it... But as I wrote: We know, we just don't care.
Obviously it would be better if logic was included BUT, if the writer for lack of skill, or unknown constraints can't create that "magical" moment without flushing logic down the toilet hole... Well, I'm shamelessly glad they choose romance over logic.
Better a show in which your audience is emotionally invested than a show that doesn't tolerate nonsense but ultimately makes us feel nothing.
In this particular scene though, I got to admit, It almost took me out of the moment, because everything that followed was damn predictable... But then I saw my husband (I'm allowing him to marry He Yan in C dramaland only, IRL he's mine) and I forgot I was supposed to give a fudge about lack of logic, and just basked in the romantic glow...
In what way exactly is this drama "low budget"? It literally screams "money" from the very first frame...
I'm of the opinion that BTS or any documentary for that matter shouldn't be added to the database altogether as well... but again... they even list ANIMEs on this platform which is just utterly ridiculous so BTS are nothing next to that I guess...

It must be a psychological thing.
