I think I've put both novels on my Wishlist for the Spirealm and 19th Floor so we'll see if I decide to buy them... I have a principle of not buying translations of books which language I'm learning so... not gonna be today I'm able to read those sadly.

Both series explained why the games existed... I just feel like the Spirealm explanations was nonsensical at least based on what's been shown in the series. It just doesn't make any sense.

Hmm. Must have flown over my head then. However, I don't think he sees Gang Cheol as being evil. He's a god, if he was evil, he wouldn't be able to ascend. He probably thinks HE is not evil given he's just giving back what he received and therefore anybody that goes against him is evil in his eyes if that makes sense.

For such an important plot point they sure didn't stress it enough for the audience seeing remembers it... Do you remember in which episode you got the intel for the baby?

Really? I mean is it even possible? He should be 100 years old then and that just... doesn't fit with his physical age ( and I'm going to assume no "youth magic" exist because we haven't been introduced to it.

I mean I remember the scene you're talking about but for me, it was the Palcheokwi possessing the blind shaman who told him he saw him 100 years ago... So in my head the original soldier just happened to see Gang Cheol fall, but is not the one responsible for his fall.

As far as I remember, the Identity of the baby is still a mystery... but I could be mistaken.

Well at least Yun Gap got a proper send off. No matter how little presence he had in this drama, Gang Cheol has been living in his body for months, he deserved the time he was given in episode 14. I'm glad the preview was intentionally misleading and he remained a good hearted person up to the end...

I still want to be optimistic about a HE next week... After all, there must be a reason why Gang Cheol is progressively losing his powers as he is stuck in Yun Gap's body... Maybe once he uses up his yagwangju, he won't die because he'd have already transformed into a human being or whatever... Or maybe the grandmother once out of the Palcheokwi will be able to give Yeo Ri a solution as to how to save him.

I'm gonna keep my optimism to the end... esp. since we still don't know who the hell is the baby who saw him ascend 100 years ago.

I've noticed that on every single drama threads I've been to for the past few years. People asking obvious questions for anybody who has bothered to watch the show.

Conclusion:

Multi-tasking doesn't exist. Either watch the show or be on your phone. Don't try to do both. Reason why people keep asking stupid questions ( and I mean stupid because if you really watched the episode as you're saying you did, you wouldn't ask these questions) is because for some reason, people answer them as if these questions were worthy of answers...

He sure did have some dirt... But you've got to be a patient to know what additional "misdeeds" the Emperor has done. I took another break at episode 32 due to being overly pissed YET AGAIN.

I'd probably rate this one better if the Emperor and Emperess weren't so evil. Like. It's really overkill at this point. I really hope, the last things I learned are the LAST but I fear it's not the case... The animosity from the Demon Realm to the Heavenly Realm has yet to be explained at this point.

Falling out of love with this show. I've finished half of it so I'll watch it to the end... But my take is... If you're into Korean Makjang, that's probably a show you'd enjoy... This one is Chinese Makjang with a Fantasy twist..

Unfortunately it's personally a genre I avoid like the plague because I hate to watch things that rise my blood pressure not due to an exciting plot but because we spend too much time with overly evil characters doing every c*** in the book to ruin innocent victims who didn't even wrong them in the first place, and getting away with it.

I was sold a grand love story, and so far, the romance is mid and I mostly get irritating characters getting away with a whole lot of crimes and innocents falling victim to their perversity.

It's reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllly annoying.

So personal current rating 6.5 given how IRRITATED I am... But we'll see if this show manage to redeem itself in the second half.

I started to feel the drag since around episode 8...
But I'm no really sure it's because the show is being draggy... Or because for the past 2/3 years, an increasing number of K dramas have been 12 episodes or even less and thus, we can no longer watch anything longer without it feeling it's draggy.

On the other side... I have no problem with longer C dramas even if at times I feel they could make it shorter... Sure their episodes are shorter ( If we assume most C dramas are 40 mn long [skipping the opening and ending] 40 episodes of a C dramas would be the equivalent of 27 episodes of a K drama assuming each episode is 1 hour long... though often it's longer) but I don't know...

But yeah sure... I don't think it's a bad drama... But its length sure doesn't help...
Now I feel like I'm "doing my homework" watching it because we're near the finish line and I don't want to drop it since it's almost finished.

Story's good but my God does it feel slow...
If all episodes were already available... I'd probably have dropped it by now.

That's fine by me. BLs is a genre I enjoy when it's well done but I haven't been able to finish any Thai BL for almost a year now given how meh most of them are.
All I care about is actors acting in good dramas whether BL or not.

Also I HATE the pairing system in Thailand. Actors are actors. They should be able to act with whoever they want and widen their range by acting with other people. I understand people have their preferences... I personally really enjoy OffGun for instance... But if they want to do other genres or completely stops, they should be able to.

Overall the whole BL industry in Thailand is real bother for actors overall. It sure brings big money, but careerwise it sucks for those concerned.

Same here 50+ episodes is quite a commitment... That's why I started watching C dramas so late in spite of being into asian dramas since the early 2000s... The number of episodes have always been pretty daunting. But they're definitely the best when it comes to Fantasy so I ended up giving them a shot and now I'm hooked ^^

Visuals are ok in that one but it doesn't stand comparison with more recent dramas.

How exactly the Heavenly Empress and Emperor managed to have a son like Xu Feng is beyond me.
These two are truly disgusting. Can't bear to see their face anymore. They truly are a match made in Heaven. Birds of a feather flock together after all.

So far I think it's a pretty good show... But it has some parts that I personally find draggy... But I'm not really sure I find them draggy because they are or because of me having spoiled myself on some important plot points ( which I won't tell obviously). I also have a low tolerance for naive brainless FL... but if the show is good enough I can totally overlook it ( I loooooooooooooooved Love Between Fairy and Devil but the FL's naivety and high pitched voice was on a whole other level).

The drama aired in 2018 and I feel people were more tolerant about "draggy" scenes back then. I just feel like dramas in recent years have become faster paced which is both a good and bad thing in my opinion.

Based on what I've seen so far, I'd rate that one 8 or 8.5 which is pretty much the overall ratings this show got... But I can totally understand if one would choose to drop this given how IRRITATING some characters are ( and... alas, so far it doesn't get better on that front).

I remember taking my first break at episode 12, than 15, than 20, followed by 22. Got stuck at episode 22 for over 15 days and now at episode 29... I'm pretty much forcing myself right now because I've invested too much time to drop it and I hate to have dramas stay too long on my "Currently Watching List"... I feel like if I don't get past episode 40 this time... this show is gonna stay on my list for over 6 months...

I'm not really sure I'd say it's overrated though... More like what Salwa Nice had written below. Likable characters are few in-between. Even some of the good guys are irritating. The only characters that haven't pissed me off so far is Xu Feng and Liu Ying...
Which makes Xu Feng's infatuation with Jin Mi so much more irritating. He's perfect, she's stupid (and I think he's more handsome than Run Yu and Yan You 😉 ).

Yeah... Started that one over a month ago but can't binge it. Currently at episode 29 and the more you learn about the Heavenly Emperor and Empress, the more insufferable they become.
I regularly take breaks because of these two and Sui He who is becoming increasingly unhinged each episode.
At episode 29, Run Yu already made some very discutable choices, and you know it doesn't bode well either for his personal trajectory either.

PS: Regarding your previous comment... Yes. it seems that thing that was implemented in Jin Mi does have an effect on her brain cells. She's still very much an idiot where I am... It's just that other characters are so much more irritating, I'm no longer bothered by her stupidity.

Posted a request for it to be available on Viki... Hopefully the show is old enough for them to license it easily . Every time I come across any lakhorn, people are ALWAYS mentioning this show, and as a sucker for "love-hate" relationship, this one seems to be right up my alley so I'm dying to check it out.

I'm turning 39 this year. At 25 people were still taking me for a 15 year old. So no. Some people do change a lot but if you have no particular health issues nor major weight gain or loss, you don't change a lot apart from the fat in your face and honestly it only started to get noticeable in my case past the age of 35. 10 years is a ridiculously small amount of time especially when you haven't started to get wrinkles.
You can look some k dramas from some actors on MDL who acted in their early 20s and early 30s, you'll see they barely changed.

EDIT: People use other indicators to estimate the age of people such as your way of talking, the clothes you're wearing etc... That has nothing to do with how you've aged physically (assuming you're not one of those who literally botox their face very young which end up making them look older than their age).
Your voice also gets deeper as you age... But in that case, again, it only starts to get noticeable past your mid-30s.
