Wow...I love XL....you guys made me feel nostalgic. Who could forget the long white haired guy who flew a white birdy to pick up the girl? Not us!! After watching it LIVE we needed therapy just to move on. So happy to find another group that is shipping him. What a performance this guy gave! Hope he wins awards. Every moment he and she were on the screen...it popped and sizzled. And out of all the relationships portrayed so beautifully in this series...theirs alone ...was the real stand out. It was special and unique, due to the interpretation of the two ppl who played their roles. They had an undeniable chemistry and perhaps because of that, they reacted to each other differently. The writer loved him and so she created an irresistible ML, a problem for many viewers and also potentially for S2, can she make Jing equally dynamic and magnetic? I dunno. Fingers crossed.
A part of what made the relationship seem so legit, was how the FL appeared to relate to XL. Ppl who get us...tend to read between the lines or bypass the intellect and speak straight to the heart. She appeared to understand him on some deep fundamental level. While her feelings for Jing were tender and empathetic...it seemed like family love, but not the heart pounding, forever kind.
Everyone of course sees a different thing in a series...and that is what makes a discussion board so fun. IF however, you want to use a fictional, other world..highly sensational styled drama to teach anyone how to find a love relationship...respectfully ...I would just say you are misguided. There are many other methods by which we can teach morality or ethics or even love...but not a TV series.
