I understand their intentions may be good...as promoting hardworking teachers is a wonderful idea.
But this seems a rather naive view to me. Are they really unaware of how many things are portrayed negatively about the school system in SK? If ppl outside K are gonna be negatively influenced about what they see in a fictional series about SK''s High School......then what about all the portrayals of cruel bullying among students, or how teachers are bullied by parents...or the extreme, unhealthy pressure to get every single answer correct on major tests? This is somehow different? Some of these kids are dealing with enough stress to cause a breakdown...yet they don't object to that portrayal? If we are gonna sanitize everything for the public's view...then...there is a lot more we could pick at than a gripe about a certain teacher. What about the drinking of half the population every night? Do we as viewers just believe every thing we see and everything we hear as authentic without any filter? Or do we accept that there are limits to our understanding about different cultures, traditions and life in a country we don't call home? My guess is that most of us have that general understanding. We can tell the difference between a series and real life.
I have often said, America is a place of 340 million very diverse ppl. We hope that foreigners do not judge all of us by the films put out by Hollywood that supposedly depict American life and thought. There is absolutely no way that Hollywood accurately represents all of us, we are vastly too different. The same thing is true of SK, so I wanna respectfully say...how about giving the viewing audience a little more credit please? We are capable of viewing this series...and not being overly influenced negatively about SK and its teachers abilities or lack of. Let us enjoy the series without the controversy. Plenty of places on the globe sanitize everything we see......I sincerely hope they are not advocating that here.
Totally loved this short series. Thought everyone acted their socks off. Loved every character, the teenagers were a great watch. Justice was served and in a very satisfying way.
My only regret was the length. The plot was more complex than the time they had to flesh it out, so we were left wishing for more or a second season. So overall very satisfied with the series... but admittedly there were a few things that felt a bit unfinished. Not enough to spoil things ...but I think if they had included them..it would've been shockingly good.
The build up of the romance/relationship between her and the ML was solidly told, but it needed one more passionate/intimate scene with just the two of them. I also felt the evil owner of Rex needed her clock cleaned...I kept wishing her stepson and his father had preplanned the fake wedding and fake illness/hospital visit to secretly record her actions and words...which would've proven her vile and very hidden motivations. I also wanted the ML's ex-wife and ex-best friend to get theirs. If anyone deserved payback ...it was those two. So def was some loose ends.. but nothing that I couldn't live with. Overall this one was a ten. Glad I didn't listen to the critics..and just watched it. It was a riveting watch. If you need something to binge that has all the feels...this one would be the one!
Like most of you, I am thinking, no way do you agree to meet him at night in a deserted building. Nah, no way. But she wasn't completely nuts (in my view) because of two things. One, she had told the ML her exact location, which is how he found her so quickly, he was only minutes behind her. Two, she had lived with her husband for 7 years...so she had some idea of how he would calculate things..and she was right. He didn't plan to kill her...not because he has a conscience... but because if she turns up dead, the heat is on him. So even though he wants her dead, he let go of her neck because he can't afford for her to die right now. The fire alarmed him because he turned the car around when he saw the fire trucks, to see if she was okay. He also told them to go back in the morning and let her out, which means even he was not expecting her to die.
So she had him pegged right. He didn't plan to kill her. Does it make it any better? Nah not really. It was still risky to meet him there...but hey...we don't always think straight when we are bulldog mode. I confess....I like this woman...and I am awed by her mental toughness ...how many ppl would be cowering in a corner? But she gets up the next morning and goes to work. Pretty incredible that so far at least...her calculations (derailing his plans) have been superior to his. They will catch the mole in the office soon...or maybe they will slip her wrong information? We will see...but it is a fun watch so far.
I'll never understand the people who want the same stock "strong female character" over ones that are fully fleshed…
Yep, me too. They thought nothing of threatening her using her child as collateral. But they forgot something...never, ever underestimate a mom. When they took everything else away...she simply endured. BUT when they took her child from her....she became a Mama BEAR with teeth.. ❤️ ...
Sorry guys...but in my view there is much to love about this series. For one thing...seeing anyone stand up on their feet after a beat down....just appeals to me.
This woman was not born a fighter..she became one because she had no other choice. Being abused is never the victims fault and there is something extremely inspiring about how she adapts. Once she takes stock ....she decides to fight. How cool is that? Suffering might be universal, but how it affects us is unique. Some are made stronger by what they go through. They come away with a clearer perspective, seeing what is truly worth fighting for.
This woman has literally ....lost everything. Her husband, her home, her career, her son, her finances and her reputation... all are gone. It was a lethal premeditated attempt to destroy her. But surprisingly ...she will end up... discovering her own strength.
I love this trend of kick butt FL's who fight back against those who are far stronger...and gaining way more in the end ....than they started with. I also love the irony, they took away her legal career so she will use the law to destroy them. Gotta love it. This is gonna be fun...
I can't remember a series that sends a tingling feeling up my spine like watching the two ML's together in Captivating the King. I am engrossed by this series. Seriously..it is a cut above. Every episode has left me wanting more, in fact, I watched the last couple of episodes twice. Lol.
The undercurrent between them is enthralling, my heart is in my mouth watching them together. Our FL is always beautiful..but here she is perfect...her gorgeous eyes speak even when she is motionless. When they were standing together in the rain....ahhh that scene was spellbindingly beautiful to me.
His face is equally mesmerizing...I adore his beard..his jaw line is so sharp and he looks amazing. When his face is still, he is so inscrutable that I am trying to read him for clues. On the one hand, he appears deadly and emotionless, on the other, he appears sincere and trustworthy. So which man is he?
And wow...what about today's episode? Did you feel like yelling? It was wild, right? Pretty crazy and I was not expecting that ending. This is the hottest series that is current right now with a runner up in Knight Flower. Don't miss either one. They are really, really good.
Do any of us really believe that after over a year of intense investigations, she would still be free without a single charge if she were guilty? No way. Initially there might have been a need for questions....but by now, everything has been sifted through...I wonder how many hours she has spent at the police station being grilled for every single private detail of her life? Given the last couple of months do any of us doubt that was an ordeal? Not only that...but she was subjected to having her personal life exposed to everyone at the station...which do we think they kept that to themselves? No way. So this was no doubt as horrifying as we can imagine. But after all of that...she would be indicted if they had a single thing to charge her with. Which means there is zero evidence that any of this was her doing. Anyone can steal an account, especially if it the log in information was available....which could have been as simple as leaving it in the drawer of a residence. If it was an unused account, why would she have been aware? This is not hard to work out. But most ppl...would rather assume she is guilty. I think this kind of news is actually exciting for ppl in SK who eat/breathe and get high on their celebs. They have an unhealthy love/worship and hate/vendetta against their stars....it is sick in my view. I love SK and I love their drama's but the citizens need to back off of their celebrities. But perhaps we can't lay the fault completely at their door, because these agencies who push these stars deserve some of the blame. They want the focused attention. The more radical the fans...the more sought after the star becomes... the more money they make. It is a vicious circle and very, very sad.
I loved this series....it was much better than I expected it would be. Had depth and very good chemistry. The ending was fine....but after the big lead up, I wanted something a bit more satisfying...and substantial. Dunno what...but maybe a wedding dress/celebration with family and friends...maybe a baby....or maybe just seeing him and her both working together at the firm. At the end..it just wasn't credible with how they switched roles..... But a very well done, entertaining series. They didn't skimp on the kisses..
Btw....did anyone else think the girl forcing her way into their home to live was very, very strange???
Cannot wait for this one...they look so special together. Thanks to everyone who posted the lovely pics...they were fabulous. Cannot believe IQ is gonna drop all the episodes at once. How cool is that?
