Latest speculation (and I do mean SPECULATION) from Namu Wiki is that a 51st episode will be added so that the drama ends on a Sunday. I have no idea if this is even remotely possible, but it would make sense since Sunday episodes are always higher rated than Saturday.
Afaik, TM wants the (never seen?) footage from the accident/murder of TH's parents destroyed (so he can further…
Well, sorta but kinda not really exactly correct. The "video" is the planned TVLive investigation report, NOT the "footage from the accident" because THAT is in the hands of Director Park or grandmama. However, combined with the facts described by the former detective, the evidence would look damning for TM's father - who at this point is obviously (to me) not the real culprit.
Based on ig photos, I think one or both TM/SK might be headed to Daegwallyeong Pass this weekend.😊😊😊
Can someone explain the deal Taemin was trying to make with his wife? I believe the anchor woman turned it down,…
Background: TVLive was preparing an “investigative” report regarding the accident at Daegwallyeong Pass. It never aired publicly but TVLive still has the video. It’s likely that it mentions that on the night of the accident, TM’s father left the house and his whereabouts were unknown (this is based on earlier conversation between TM and the reporter).
TM proposed marriage to Su-kyung, knowing that if she agreed, TVLive would not air the investigation reports. Furthermore, TM believes Su-kyung only cares being the wife of a conglomerate (chaebol) owner.
Tae Ho attempted to bribe the TVLive reporter to hand over the video. BOOM.
THEREFORE, Tae Min wants the video destroyed because it may include information regarding his father. Tae Min’s Proposed Deal: 1. TVLive must destroy the video and never speaks of or look into the Daegwallyeong Pass accident again. In exchange. . . 2. TM and Su-kyung will continue to be married as a Chaebol couple (but there will be no children and she should “find another man”) AND TM will “give” Taesan Cosmetics and Taesan Hotels to TVLive.
Su-kyung says NO DEAL because becoming the wife of a chaebol owner was never her goal and now she realizes the Daegwallyeong Pass investigation is the reason he proposed marriage in the first place.
My favoretist kdrama star is Yoo In Soo, but this might be difficult for this fan to watch:.
"Yoo In Soo, who starred in hit dramas “All of Us Are Dead,” “Alchemy of Souls,” and “The Good Bad Mother,” will be playing the role of Assistant Manager Go who is the photo studio’s customer sales representative. Assistant Manager Go departed the world without having ever dated in his lifetime, raising anticipation for his backstory."
Will the incredible In Soo EVER get a romantic lead role????
It might be the difference between East and West. In Asia, definitely a more "cool" vibe. Europe/Americas - think Harry Potter.
Anyway, her hair during the fashion show looked like it was on fire and every time her mouth opens, it's like flames spitting out. So, the term seems appropriate to me.
Writer-nim continues to deliver - she knows what she is doing as LYOL breaks the 20% Nielsen (from a LOW of 11.1% - back when KBS was continually canceling/delaying for soccer/football)
How many revelations/pivots occurred this weekend AND will encourage viewers to return next weekend??? My top 5:
Mi-Rim/hyo Jun (my favorite couple but. . . not charmed by Ep. 33)) Dragon Mom and Gremlin Mom battle Tae Ho thinking he now knows all re: Daegwallyeong Pass (pffffttt - still a man/child🤣) Tae Min offering a deal to Su-Kyung that cannot be refused - except she does refuse (You go girl 🤣) Ru-bi getting smack down from Hyo Shim
Honestly, my list was much longer. And preview for next weekend? I can't keep track.
Quite a choice to pair up young ML with older, widowed FL and young SFL with older, widowed SML. The crossed age…
I agree. I'm enjoying the light-hearted tone, the martial arts choreography and a couple of my favorite actors (Jo Jae Yoon and Kim Mi Kyung) are delivering as they chew through every scene they appear in. But even if I try to imagine that perhaps the FL was widowed at the very early age of 13-14 (?), based on the younger version (?), she doesn't look in h er late '20s. And ml doesn't enchant - he's okay/nice, but not thrilling.
Really trying to understand what the producers/writers/directors are trying to accomplish here - simply a "get me two great actors, never mind their ages" marketing/promotional? I don't know any of the main leads, but Lee Ki Woo (2ML) is dynamite. I hope they don't plan SML for him - two brothers. . .competing. . . .That's when I stop.
If there is one thing I've learnt it is that KDrama and timelines never gel. They always throw random numbers…
Total re-write on the chairman. in the first episode, he chided his wife for drinking too much at the welcome home dinner for Tae Min. A couple of episodes later, TM talked about how the Grandfather mistreated him (both physical and mental abuse) . No signs of any drinking with the original actor, but very clear evidence of PTSD.
But they keep re-writing Grandmama as well. She tells Park Woo joo that both of her sons were "good sons". A few episodes later, she tells [landlady??] that she had disinherited her son.
Remember how we researched Korean law w/r/t family registries, disinheriting, etc?? Time to find those notes again now that Dragon mom is on the warpath
Some of the re-writes/deviation from original have been obvious, perhaps due to the death of the original Chairman (I think they had to toss a whole bunch of filming from last summer).
But God Almighty- can't they even keep the date of the Daegwallyeong Pass Accident straight???
First, we were told it was "three" years ago and grandmama disappeared soon thereafter (and was locked up for "three" years) - which would placed everything in 2020.
Then in several episodes, TV Live kept saying it was in August 2019.
TM&TH relationship imploded in a flurry of fists w TM taking his parent's side till the bitter end which.... disappointing…
haha, to each his own, However, today I liked them together because Hyo jun did come through for her in terms of support and getting through her "trauma'. And then she ruined it (from my viewpoint) by using him as some sort of drunken escape from her sadness.
in Korea, the bar exam is usually in early January - is he going to miss it?

"With these two couples i wish they were better interconnected into the (main) story as they are basically floating around as entities of their own without any connections to characters bar the familial ones "
Well, what is the "main" story?? At a minimum, it's how HS and each of her sibling learns to live independently. [The other two are TH/HS romance and the corporate fight.] I'm glad they aren't satellites of TH/HS - that was one of the main problems of TRHC - everything revolved around the OTP and all of the other characters had no story, no character development, they just existed to sit in family meetings.
Nevertheless, I was shocked when I read the Ep. 34 preview before watching Ep. 33. 😎
Tae Ho - didn't think it was possible to dislike Tae Ho even more, but today he beat expectations (w/Hyo Shim). Bravo Ha Jun to making TH so dislikeable. Tae Min - I didn't think it was possible for me to dislike you, even a little bit, but today? Damn you (w/ Su-kyung). It's a good thing I've peeked at some ig photos. Hyo Do - you always amuse and looking forward to your ultimate come-uppance. Gremlin Mom - way, way too much screen time and you effin' lied to your eldest son. Dragon Mom - well, damn, I totally mis-read your phone call w/Tae Min. I thought it w/r/t Tae Hee. 😒 Mi-Rim and Hyo Jun - Awwwwwww, so sweet. The one and only positive (for now) scenes in this drama. Grandmama - Get your act together and straighten out things between your grandsons. Oh, who am I kidding - too early for that.
Great episode but not looking forward to Episode 33.
My money is on Taehee's mom and her real dad that stooge
There is a very, very long list of clues (and probably red herrings) regarding what happened at Daegwallyeong Pass. I keep thinking I will put them together for a discussion topic but then it seems each weekend, new information comes out.
I think the story changed a bit after the original Chairman actor passed away suddenly, so i'm not sure some of the original clues will be mentioned in the future. Example: just what item did Grandmama pick-up from Madame Seo's restaurant? I assumed it was the dash-cam or a copy of the camera footage, but it's never been seen since. So, will we eventually find out? Or, has the story changed? after all, if the original actor was seen in it - they would have to re-shoot those scenes if the original story hasn't changed.
I have not re-watched everything, but I believe the only people who "remember" the accident are the Chairman and Grandmama. I think she might have been there - she worked hard to hush everything up and presumably has the dash-cam footage.
Very fun intro (Healer and Stealer vibes). Entire episode was a great deal of fun and with MDl character list by my side, I could figure out who belongs to which family fairly easily.
I know nothing about the two leads, but Jo Jae Yoon (Alchemy of Souls) and Kim Mi Kyung (my intro to her: Master's Sun, Healer and her Private Life) are always so professional and fun to watch.
But. . . the significant age difference between the leads is very obvious and distracting. Noona romances that are 10+ years apart do not appeal to this viewer. I will continue to watch - and hope it continues to be light-hearted, Healer/Stealer fun martial arts, well-done camera work/direction and doesn't descend into cliche Joseon era violence and murder mystery.
So I recently started watching this and I only really like 4.5 characters The Fl, the ML, Philip and Mirin! The…
If you watch a weekend primarily for a Main Couple, you will enjoy LYOL - it takes time for them to become an official couple (Fun Fact: Bloomingtide and I took a bet when that would happen. She said Ep. 20ish, I said Ep. 30ish - and lo and behold, split the difference and it was Episode 25, as other have previously commented.)
I'm not a fan of Tae Ho/Hyo Shim. Just not the type of couple I enjoy, but after the debacle of TRHC which featured ONE couple and only one couple - wherein all other characters revolved around them w/no stories of their own - this is a significant improvement. So, i'm enjoying LYOL even though I frequently FF through TH/HS.
Nevertheless, I enjoy many of the other characters and stories and their journey. as of Episode 28 or so, things are moving forward in a variety of directions for many characters and their own personal stories. Do I love everyone? Nope. But I enjoy enough of them (and I enjoy the mystery/corporate intrigue) to keep watching.
Based on ig photos, I think one or both TM/SK might be headed to Daegwallyeong Pass this weekend.😊😊😊

Thankfully, there is the added benefit of Joo Won.
Anyway, her hair during the fashion show looked like it was on fire and every time her mouth opens, it's like flames spitting out. So, the term seems appropriate to me.
Saturday (episode 32): 18.3% (highest Saturday episode)
Sunday (ep. 33): 20.9% - highest.
