I don't know about those two names, but yesterday there appeared this article about the actor who played the younger…
That was the point of my post, but I see that I didn't specifically mention Yeon Oh - I will go back and edit it. I also submitted Yeon Oh's info to MDL so they can edit the cast list.
Maybe he faked it. I watched too many dramas lmao, therefore I don't believe they'll make him be so heartless.…
I was eagerly looking forward to this drama because Yoo In-soo is my favorite k-drama actor, but it's released the same day/hour as Bora! and I don't have time to watch two dramas in one day. So, I fell behind on this one.
As I understand it, the viewer discovers that he did certain things as part of a revenge plot although I'm sure we will find out he didn't kill the mom/kid. However, his awful treatment of others (some of which we have seen, some still to come) doesn't make it okay and it especially doesn't make it okay to blame it all on the Mom.
Do we not still have 1-2 actors with unidentified roles that we haven't seen yet? Kim Ki-Hae and Park Sung-Hoon?…
I don't know about those two names, but yesterday there appeared this article about the actor who played the younger (teen) Kim Shi-yeol, both in Ep. 15 - but also Episode 2 when he protects 13 year old Lee Seol.
Edit: the name of the actor portraying Young Shi-yeol is Yeon Oh.
This is the first 'period" drama I have ever watched beyond Episode 1 or 2. I started this one because (1) I was sick in bed with the flu and looking for something light-hearted - and the comments on MDL said it was funny; (2) 10 episodes had already aired so it was worth trying out and binging; (3) it WAS very lighthearted and comical up through Ep. 8. By then I was hooked on Shi-yeol and the potential romance with Hong Joo.
I will also say that after watching the 1st several episodes, I was pretty sure that Ilwahon family would survive because they were all so endearing which is also why I didn't drop. But, it's been hard getting through Ep. 15 and 16.
Clearly KangHo and MiJoo will be together by the end of the show, but do you think Samshik will be alone? I hope…
My prediction is that in the end, Sam-shik - who has a "rough appearance [but] is the owner of a pure soul." - will help Kang-Ho bring down the bad guys. If anyone will be suspicious when the bad guys visit Jourri village, it will be Sam-shik.
If his only purpose is to 💕Mi-joo, then there really isn't any point to his character.
And no, I don't think he will get a girl of his own. 😢
OMG. The Eunuch told the King that LS is Yoo Ha. Is Yoo Ha gonna die? PLEASE NOO!!
LOL, I wonder if anyone else got "Tale of Two Cities" vibes today. "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known."
Although I believe all will be well in the end because at this point, viewers will watch to make sure that everyone survives - not to watch Charles Dickens novel. I was shocked that his mom is still alive though - I always figured she would die in the end, but if that was the plan, she wouldn't have survived.
Episode 16 Pre-release. Another emotional Shi-yeol/Hong Joo scene.
I will simply state that I Do. Not. Watch. Tearjerker. Dramas. EVER! I avoid them at all costs. But I got roped into this one because of the comedy in the 1st few episodes (I thought playboy Shi-yeol was the Prince) and my mini-crush on Shi-yeol. If I didn't believe to my core that Shi-yeol and Hong Joo WILL have a happy ending, I would have dropped this drama long ago.
but Shi-yeol just abandonning Kang San, this episode was sad frankly, when i saw Shi-yeol in the teaser of ep…
Shi-yeol is a hero and heroes do not walk away from duty.
He won't abandon anyone. Now that his disguise has been revealed, he must leave publicly (as Shi-yeol) so that he can return.
this is just my speculation but I have always believed that Shi-yeol was the young Watchman that killed Hong Joo's fiance and that once he discovered that fact, he would need to leave her.
I AM surprised that Administrator discovered this when there are still 3 episodes to go but it will be all the sweeter when Shi-yeol kills him.
As far as I'm concerned, Shi-yeol is THE Main protagonist in this drama. His character is complex, multi-layered, full of tragedy, racked by guilt and above all - heroic. Other characters are just window-dressing. 😁
IKR! She's really good at acting, wow props to her.
I don't know anything about Baek Jin Hee (Yeon Doo) or Cha Joo Young (Jang Se Jin), but in the Ep. 13 scene where both are talking in the annex, i was stuck by how remarkable Joo young was (tone,, cadence, facial expression) versus Jin Hee - who was stoic/stone-faced and unemotional.
Not a critique or criticism of Jin Hee because I like the character she is playing, but this drama allows Joo Young far more range - opportunity - variety than the stoic (but clever) Yeon Doo character.
In other words, because of Joo Young's portrayal, Se Jin is one of those characters one "loves to hate". And I do hate her - with pleasure.
She has worked non-stop this past year: Sh**ting Stars, Alchemy of Souls, May it Please the Court, Bora! and next…
Altho I was hesitant (Asian "fantasy" is not my usual genre) . I started to watch AoS because of Jung So Min (she is good friend of Park So jin). I was enthralled with the concept of completely new "world/.universe" A bit comparable to the fantasy "world" of Harry Potter where some humans have magical abilities/powers, good v. evil, romance, fascinating characters.
If that has zero appeal to you, i suggest you don't watch because altho I loved Part 1, I hated Part 2. OTOH, if "romance" is your preference, simply watch Part 2 because that was 80% of the focus - every scene, every conversation, every problem or issue involved the Main Couple.
BTW, since Yoo In na was not a favorite of mine (before this drama), I tuned in primarily because of (1) Park So Jin and (2)Joo Sang Wook who also played a pivotal (although not Main) role in AoS.
Why not use HDMI cable to connect your laptop and TV? That's how I watch all the good stuff I download or stream…
We have an old flat-screen (almost 20 yrs old) and my son - who is a gamer - tells me that trying to do what you suggest will result in a poor picture quality. Plus, for Disney+ Asia, I would need to use VPN via my laptop and thus far major issues when we have attempted - on a different TV w/the HDMI hookup. . For now, I have access to plenty of k-drama on Netflix, Viki, and Disney+ w/VPN. I think w/in the next year - especially if TVing comes to the USA, I will need to revisit but the $$$$ sure add up.
Also, I avoid the unofficial sites if I can - I am so new to K-drama (1.5 years or so) that there is plenty of backlog on Viki and Netflix to enjoy.
I still believe Shi-yeol and Hong Joo will have a happy ending. Plus the other scene I am looking forward to (presumably in Ep. 18) is when Shi-yeol kills Administrator Tae-hwa and even though I usually FF thru violent or gory scenes, I will watch that one in slow motion if I can. I really have no idea how Tae-hwa meets his end, but really - can it be anyone other than Shi-yeol?
Takeaways from the livestream of episode 14 under spoilers (Now finished:) Disclaimer: After (just) one year of…
I enjoy your summaries - especially those describing the looks/tone of Main Lead interexchange, whether verbal or visual.
Yesterday's show was even slower to arrive on Viki than prior weeks - I tried to watch, but fell asleep several times and gave up.
I have a theory on why this drama takes so long to appear on Viki (about 4-5 hours later than other subtitled dramas). Perhaps it is because it is ALL dialogue. As in ALL dialogue. For 120 minutes per episode. There are no scenes of people simply walking in a park or running away from something or . . . really, there is no "action" in this drama since most of it is filmed in studio. That means there is far more translation required than those that are action-packed or tension-filled moody scenes w/no dialogue. just a theory.
One year later and this is still the only drama that i have given 10⭐ on MDL. It's crazy as hell, but Kim jae Wook is absolutely perfect in his role as the perfectionist CEO tyrant that is deeply affected by the betrayals - whether real or perceived - that surround him. I had a few quibbles about how the mystery was resolved - most of the puzzle pieces fit, but a few were simply left on the table unexplained. Nevertheless, I hope it comes to the US on Hulu eventually so I can re-watch it on my TV screen instead of laptop.
It's usually up early morning (7:00 or so) here on West Coast USA, but it looks like they are having trouble today.
