still 100% sure of happy ending because:- Uk back in blue in teaser photo- They don't reveal GYJ final foto with…
I don't know about the rest, but ChoDang wedding is definite (altho probably off-screen like most of their other scenes 😥) because In-soo was authorized to flash that ring TWICE.
I've been unhappy with Dang-gu's minimal screen time and couldn't believe that he was told to "go to Jinyowon" so that he missed the big fight in Ep.9.
But then read a press release from In-soos agency - in late August. he was able to attend the script reading for "Bad Mom", his new drama. So, he missed a few days of filming and was able to return - looking at previews/teasers, he will be there at the final battle with bow and arrow.
In hindsight, I regret not buying any alcohol prior to tonight's finale. Could have really used some strong booze…
LOL, but I must watch very early in morning (6:00 am, if I bother to get up). Will need lots of coffee tomorrow morning because I'm determined to watch and FF before coming to MDL or Twitter. 🥰
I think they skipped or cut some scenes because of fitting into just 10 episodes.. that's why the execution seems…
In-soo filmed for over a day with children for the lantern festival. In the end, we never saw Dang-gu's interaction with the children - it was all reduced to 5 seconds. 😥😥😥
Meanwhile, far too many lengthy scenes w/no dialogue and too much music. (Jang Uk, Jin Bu-yeon, Yul, etc.) This is on directors, not writers who wrote the original scenes.
Im totally prepared for a new Daeho. Ruled by the new King Go Won in the Royal Palace, with the help of the four…
You are ever the optimist Cau - I'm glad you are back on MDL because I know you were very busy over the holidays. I've been predicting an epilogue and it seems more likely.
Cho-yeon and Dang-gu get married - that's a given since In-soo intentionally flashed a wedding ring on his last day. It may be totally off screen (for which I will deduct at least 3⭐and I'm already pretty much at 6.5 so that doesn't leave much room but I will ADD 3⭐ if it is on-screen). There are BABIES to be born, after all. Daeho will be saved - that's been JBY's mission from the beginning. Pretty happy ending as far as I'm concerned. Still crossing my fingers regarding the possible deaths. 😢
I wonder why none of their friends are not at the wedding ceremony, maybe they did a spur of the moment thing.…
Well, for one thing, it was one of the very, very last shoots - almost all (maybe all) other cast members had completed filming, and some (such as In-soo and MHM) were already filming their next project when the "daisy" scene was filmed.
Wanna take some moment to praise Hwang Min Hyun.the fellow alchemists who comment here since first part can remember…
Thank you Cau. 🥰🥰 I don't follow celebrities (especially those in Korea) so I didn't realize that he was famous idol (huge following on ig and in Japan apparently). In one interview, he said he tried to ad-lib a bit (like In-soo and LJW) but the director kept telling him NO, recite your lines with no emotion. They finally let up on him a bit (according to the interview) when he was allowed to be "confused" in the later episodes.
It was so unfair for viewers to criticize his "wooden" acting when he was doing exactly as directed.
He also said that they re-arranged filming schedule so that he could complete all of his scenes and be able to attend Montcler 75 (?) in Italy. He is apparently some sort of representative in Korea along with Lee Sung Kyung (S**ting Stars, Dr. Romantic 2). I have his next K-drama on my watchlist.
I also agree to some extent, but I think it's wishful thinking. But its something at the back of my mind, perhaps…
Thank you - that's my hope as well. I will be getting up very early tomorrow morning, clicking on Ep. 10 and FF to the very end before I start to watch from the beginning. That's just how I need to keep my stress level low.
I really do not understand writers/directors foreshadowing "deaths" in ep 9 - it is completely 180 degrees different from how they handled the end of Part 1.
In Part 1, there was ZERO indication of what would happen at the end of Ep. 20 – nothing in the previews, the released photos, interviews or press releases. The Shaman bells/powder never appeared in all of Part 1 until Ep. 20 so the viewer didn't even realize it was a possible tactic. I just now re-watched the end of Ep. 19 to confirm that there was nothing to predict the ending of Ep. 20.
So, perhaps I’m grasping at straws, but the following major clues have appeared in recent days: (i) BLACK and white photos of beloved characters. (ii) Still cuts of the eight main actors, all of them holding Ep. 10 scripts EXCEPT three of them.
Since when has AoS EVER provided such major clues/spoilers, including today's final scenes and preview for tomorrow. Do they think we will watch to see favorites die? Or, are they doing us a favor by telling us in advance?
When I watch, I will have a very, very heavy finger on the FF button because I hate violence, especially violence against beloved characters.
as crazy as it is all this stuff with buyeon and jin seol ran, and the problems it makes for our main couple,…
I agree - I'm finally enjoying Part 2 - partly because the story is now becoming what I always thought it would be.
Writers told us long ago there were 3 story arcs in AoS: (1) the narrative of Jang Uk and Mu-deok ("Naksu"); the conspiracies surrounding the ice stone and (iii) the story of Jin Bu-yeon. That's one reason I was shocked in ep 2 (Part 2) when Master Lee supposedly killed her.
She chose Jang Uk because he has the energy of the King's Star and therefor has the power to deal with the chaos brought about by the ice stone.
Hear me out. JSR used up all her power trying to fix the whole fire bird x ice stone war situation so SG resorted…
Definitely Jin Bu-yeon's mother. And one of the biggest problems with the idea that it has been JSR all along (whether since birth as Master Lee suggests or 10 years ago) is that continuing to show her as a 10 year old child is distracting. It would all make more sense - including the eventual death of Jin Bu-yeon which I always believed to be End Game for her - if they had brought JSM back for these episodes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hear me out. JSR used up all her power trying to fix the whole fire bird x ice stone war situation so SG resorted…
Did I miss something? JSR sealed Jinyoon with her blood? or, is that your theory?
This is close to what I have said for months: Jin Bu-yeon's mission is to work with the holder of the King Star energy to "deal with the chaos of the ice stone". Maybe it's JSR and not JBY, but same idea.
Naksu, child JBY and adult JBY (maybe JSR - I remember at the time that adult Mu-deok didn't sound like the Mu-deok who lived in Sari with So-i, she sounded like a priestess). talked while inside the ice stone.
Lots of plot holes if this is true - for one, JBY called out to her mother before they entered the ice stone.
this show is getting worse 🤢. jang uk is really pissing me off, he's useless and doesn't deserve that ice stone…
There's something I still don't understand. Naksu realizes she is occupying Jin Bu-yeon's body and sharing it with Jin Bu-yeon's (or possiblye JSR) "soul", correct?
Does Jang Uk know this? Does he know there is a 2nd soul there? Or, at least another entity that will take over at some point? Cuz I don't see him making love to her if he knows there's another entity sharing that body.

Love my Dang-gu.
Anyway, from the early in Part 1, Jin Bu-yeon is determined to save Daeho from the "chaos of the ice stone" and she needs Jang Uk to make it happen.
But. . . maybe I haven't been watching the show or so I was told.

More Master Lee mumbo-jumbo I guess.
