Mage levels (Jipsu, Ryusu, and Chisu) are the ability to control energy - from water, from the body (or land) and the atmosphere. It appears to make a difference in how quickly one can re-energize a sword (or even arrow - waiting for a Dang-gu scene with bow and arrow!) and the complexity of certain spells. I think the ability to soar/somersault through the air might be Chisu level?
Guys i was reading all comments im a bit late. Lol But i wanna talk about Jin Mu!!Guys what the hell he said in…
I watched part of the live feed from Korea early this morning and then the Netflix release. I STILL missed a lot. I'm baby-sitting a puppy tonight by myself - guess I will have plenty of time to re-watch and this time, take Lots. Of. Notes.
The Number 1 item in that unauthorized release that infuriated JSM fans (like me - the only reason I even bothered…
I've talked myself into believing JSM will be back and in a major way. But I think at the end of Season 1, there will be a cliffhanger regarding the outcome (life? death? soul shift?) for Naksu and Jin Bu-yeon.
Separate topic: Why do you think Naksu has power because of the ice stone?
New still cuts from Ep. 14. https://www.instagram.com/p/CgofQdsv_Oj/Reminder: Seo Yul and Go Won are 1st cousins.…
The production team of 'Alchemy of Souls' said, "Crown Prince Go Won, who begins to notice Jang Uk's relationship with Mu-deok, intervenes in Jang Uk's final confrontation, and in the process, Seo Yul raises the sword to protect his first love. Jang Wook, Seo Yul, and Go Won, who have Mu-deok among them, will have different romance moves, and new developments will unfold, so please look forward to it."
Just trying to figure out the hierarchy of power of the characters. Is Master Lee the strongest followed by the…
Sorcery is possible with the ice stone - I think that's where Jin Mu and Shaman Choi get their "power". It's different from mage power which is based on "energy". Or, that's how I have viewed it.
So, how exactly does a big ice stone get into a body???
The ice stone doesn't melt. It turns into fire, then stone, and then water and back to stone. Out of that process comes the Soul Ejector (powder)
So, I wonder if one drinks the ice stone when it is in the WATER stage, that's how it gets into a body? Not sure how it gets pulled out of a body and back to its original form.
Why were the terms of the competition changed and why did Mu Deok agree to put herself on the line for the final…
One of the frustrating things about AoS is that they have a cliff-hanger (like today's episode) and then in the NEXT episode we get a lot of back story as to how the characters reached this point. If you watch the Episode "13" preview (which is actually a combination of 13 and 14) there is quite a bit of backstory that we have not yet seen.
Two important things of this episode which can go unnoticed are1. Crown prince has also started joining the dots.…
There was a commenter here a few weeks ago (they haven't commented recently), but they observed this show is broken down into 4-episode mini story arcs. If they are right, this is the type of reveal that might occur in Ep. 16 (or bridge over to 17).

I don't think Jin Mu suspects Mu-deok right now - I think several episodes in the future he will remember and realize that his niece JBY is alive.

Reminder: Seo Yul and Go Won are 1st cousins. An "explanation" quote from the production team is provided below with a spoiler tag.
