oh yeah, mbc's dailies are very much your typical off the wall soap betrayal, cheating revenge dramas whereas…
I really don't know much about the dailies, but I checked into the prior KBS daily "Elegant Empire" because of the Father Lee actor (Nam Kyung Eup) and it seemed to be all about birth secrets, betrayal, corporate battles, etc. Admittedly, it was about a family - a very dysfunctional family, lol.
Im Ju Eun (Choi Su-kyung, aka TV Anchor Lady) has been cast in MBC's upcoming (April) daily drama called "Brave Warrior Yong Su Jung".
I have never watched a daily drama and after reading Ju-eun's character description, I won't be watching this one either. 😥
"Lim Joo-eun adds to the tension of the drama as Choi Hye-ra, the embodiment of desire that is bound by greed and selfishness. A bon-to-bi villain who relentlessly punishes anyone who goes against her with her endless greed and drive to have whatever she likes. Choi Hye-ra's evil deeds are completed with Lim Joo-eun's solid acting skills, which will push the viewers' anger button. "
Most long-term Tae Min fans were hoping for a reconciliation, but I've resigned myself to the fact that the writer…
Su-kyung's only real sin was her treatment of Hyo-shim. As you say, the marriage was a direct result of TV Live Chairman and Dragon Jang meddling. She tried to be a loyal wife (and she was - even after the divorce) so a reconciliation was possible, especially if they had bothered to show some character "growth" like they have with Hyo Shim's family. But apparently it is not to be.
Do you guys think that Taemin could end up with the TV anchor? I don't Taemin to end up alone, and she is suitable…
Most long-term Tae Min fans were hoping for a reconciliation, but I've resigned myself to the fact that the writer used Su-kyung and her father as pure plot devices and nothing more. Very disappointing, but it is what it is.
Especially disappointing because after frequent mentions the divorce "wasn't final "yet", they never bothered to mention it again. Perhaps Korean viewers understood that once she said she was flying to the US, it meant the divorce was final and she would never be mentioned again (even in gratitude for her loyalty to TM). 😟😟😟
OstentatiousOrchid – I’m circling back to a comment you made (2 weeks ago) related to the translation of the word 의지 (uiji) which appears between Tae Hee and Kang Jun Bum on the KBS Character Relationship Chart.
You said it “means "will; volition; leaning; support; reliance; dependence because there's not much else written for more context.”
Today, I did some more checking and found: “In English, it translates as Will or Volition.. . . .The word mental strength is used in a similar sense.” [Namu Wiki].
So, looking back, perhaps it was a clue all along that Tae Hee, once she had the “willpower” or “mental strength”, would be the one to provide the final keys to solving the Daegwallyeong Pass mystery which took the lives of Kang Jun Bum and his wife.
Of course, I must mention that she finally found the courage (“willpower”) to tell her secret when Kang Tae Min told her that nothing had changed, she would always be his sister. 😊😊
In reality, the combined ratings of original broadcast AND the # of streaming views on Waave (Korean) would be a better measurement of actual South Korean viewership.
Was that why the music teacher (from the photo that Hyosung has) came to find Hyoshim family. I did not understand…
I'm just glad he was a cheating scum because that means the family can turn their backs on him. I'm really crossing fingers that Hyo-seung will be walking Hyo-shim down the aisle (that is, I'm hoping she doesn't walk down the aisle by herself).
Yeah. It looks like it. But they were obvious by not so obvious to make the drama uncomfortable. In Indian dramas…
Volvo and Fantom (golf) have been major sponsors from the beginning and about 1/2 way 60 chicken became major - if there wasn't a scene actually at the restaurant, someone was carrying a bag of chicken to Tae Hee. 😊😊 But today, I felt like I was drowning in PPL - THREE Volvos, a long scene at 60 Chicken with their "newest product" and the Fantom rehearsal and fashion show. Not to mention the make-up scene and lengthy time at the home furnishings store. I wonder if Dragon Mom's red handbag was easily recognizable to Korean viewers??
Lol, wedding scenes are expensive, so they gotta finance that somehow xD
Oh, don't you think the wedding was always part of the plan??? originally for episode 50, now perhaps 51?? The leads and supporting cast get paid a certain amount, no matter how many episodes they appear in. But the crew get paid by the hour (plus overtime) so they have to pay for the extra time somehow. Or, perhaps they will start to add tons of flashbacks to stretch things out, lol
Tae Hee provided the pass code that opened up Yeom’s phone which still contained recording of Dragon Mom’s…
In the preview, There was a young boy (9-12 years old?) standing next to Director Jung and Grandmama as they were leaving Uichon Villa. At first I thought it was Pil Lip, but it's not.
Once they decided to kill off Ga-on's mother (according to Namu Wiki, she was alive and would show up after Ga-on was on TV), it was pretty clear they were dumping that story - IF there ever was a story.
Subs were late, so I only had time to watch the really important (Tae Min) scenes, but it was very satisfying…
Tae Hee provided the pass code that opened up Yeom’s phone which still contained recording of Dragon Mom’s phone call with Yeom – where she was gleeful at the death of TM/TH parents. Apparently Tae Hee never heard that part – Dragon mom was talking from her bedroom at that point.
On the other hand, too many hints that Tae Min is going to walk away by the end of the show and my rating can’t go much lower. And who is that young boy with Grandmama in the previews? I swear – if they introduce TM’s illegitimate son that will be the last straw. Pure trash to do it at the last minute.

Hmmmmm. . . . I wonder if LYOL is lowering the boom and stopping vague spoilers as we move to the end of this drama.
For the last several weeks (since before Christmas), Go Joo Won has posted photos on Instagram a day or two before the Saturday episode. This week - nothing.
Oh well, intelligent, "kind-hearted" (Tae Ho's words, not mine!) Tae Min will be front and center and that's all I really care about now that they destroyed the previously intelligent/currently clown face Mi-rim character. I must keep reminding myself that LYOL is a show by Koreans for Koreans and that a clown lawyer (and a shrieking Gremlin Mother) is somehow meant to charm the viewer.

It will be available on something called "Watcha", an independent (not affiliated with any broadcast or cable channels) Korean streaming platform.
Sunday ratings (Ep. 47): 22.1 (tied for 1st).
In reality, the combined ratings of original broadcast AND the # of streaming views on Waave (Korean) would be a better measurement of actual South Korean viewership.
Ugh I just looked it up and hepatology relates to the liver - and apparently a partial liver donor from a family member is possible.
Unwatchable if that's where they are headed.
