Oh I totally know what you mean! I think he is very versatile, and because he isn’t generically good looking (I find his features distinctive - where he can be a totally heartthrob in one scene, but then look very mean in another), he can play a good or bad guy. I still have to watch New Proud Smiling Wanderer, but it’s one of his earlier works and he was still young, but he played a bad guy. I see improvement with his works with each show.

Have you seen Moonlight? He was a total brat in there, but somehow managed to be adorkable at the same time. I have not read the novel tho.

What happened? I don’t have Weibo 😔and can't really read Chinese...but loved them both in Moonlight ! Why did they get scolded? Are they expected to turn down jobs because other people were rumoured for the parts?

Totally understand - everyone said Word of Honour was amazing, but despite watching several eps and titbits, I just couldnt get into it. I always get FOMO when everyone says something is really good, but it doesn’t grab me! 😂

Have you ever seen Imperial Coroner? That was another show where everyone was really career focused and their skill sets complimented each other. They were all newbies and budget for costumes was zero, but they spent it on scripts and sets.

Thank you! Although in this little interview, it feels like he is a different character. He gives off a different vibe - I think he is filming his police drama right now. It’s weird to explain, but he is not in NYX mode, nor his usual playful self.

Though I enjoyed RotTaR - I did feel that the relationship was a bit toxic, just in the sense that the FL often toyed with the ML’s affections and his love for her with little explanation for her actions. Although as viewers we knew the reason why, he had no clue. I really felt sorry for Han Shou. I preferred the relationship run this show, it was much more balanced and healthier.

That was the only loop that wasn’t closed off - which was a shame as I would have liked one extra scene with her. But she was a strong character, loved the fighting scene.

Same here - had no expectations but watched it because I liked the leads! And re-watching some scenes, there were subtleties of some characters that I missed the first time around.

It was explained later she found out that Wen Wen was behind it. She was did set up the meeting with the person who tried to assassinate him - much more believable in that instance than the fact she just wanted to make money.
