This honestly had a good start. But the frequent entanglement of the leads and their exes is getting annoying (Do Hee lying to Hae Kyung about Jae Hyuk). I used to like Do Hee a lot but her recent choices are not doing well for me. Hae Kyung is the mature one in this relationship. I wish there were more leads like him in the kdramaland.
And just in ep 13 with the NOBLE IDIOCY ACT. I just hate that troupe so much. Please. You are not saving yourselves by breaking up.
There is nothing redeemable in here. Nothing can distract you from the bad and confusing (with many plot holes) storyline: may it be either the romance, the villain or even the side characters. It was fun tho seeing people defend this messy show. Maybe next time LMH and KGE.
Kim Soo Hyun is pretty but WOAH Seo Ye Ji is really pretty.
But on a serious note, I really like the manner of the storytelling (literally like a story book) . I like the animation and how the plots in the story book interwines with the main plot. It does have a dark vibe which is really matching for its topic.
Might be an unpopular opinion but I was underwhelmed by the first ep. It is in fact intriguing. The chemistry is there don't get me wrong. They looked good together. It's just that I just can't itch a bad feeling about how this will unfold. But hey at least I haven't skipped any scene (which I have been notoriously doing for some recent kdramas). This is in fact matter of taste. Regardless, I'd still continue watching this and recommend this to try.
nope, just ignore science fiction, and assume everything is happening because MAGIC.Just think of everything as…
Nope. Even magic has its own rules and LOGIC.
For a matter so huge and basically the whole foundation of this show, you can't just disregard the absence of somekind logic in the fiction. And besides, there are no other redeeming qualities to distract you from that.
I get it. This is a fantasy drama. The logic we are accustomed to cannot be be applicable (in all sense) to the world built in TKEM. But, the thing is regardless of this being a fantasy drama, a form of logic (only applicable to this) should still be built in this world. You can't just add things after things without explaining them, and excusing such actions 'bc it' s a fantasy drama'. A form of logic still needs to play a role in the world-building. Idc what kind but you have to.
This show is not doing that.
Or atleast it's not vividly doing so. People defend this show so much saying: "you need to be smart enough to watch this," "you need to watch it more than once to understand" If there are such requirements, then the decreasing ratings are well-deserved. lol the show is bad at explaining its ideas. PERIOD. It's trying too hard to be complex that it's sacrificing logic in the process.
One of the things that bothers me is Diliraba's frequent use of red lipstick even in the most unlikely places. Does anyone here sleep with red lipstick on?
I haven't seen a romcom in months, I'm glad this came into my life. Kdramas this year often have melodramatic tones. I really like the premise of the show, eating with strangers. I hope they don't find out about each other's identity soon. Nothing revolutionary but definitely enjoyable so far. ❤️
Horrible kiss scene. I think if he is not king he gets slapped.
True but I would have slapped him regardless if he was king or not. I sometimes feel that the leads are acting irrationally. Not just to each other. Their characters, themselves are written so superficial.
I hate to tell you this but this drama is centered around parallel worlds. Talk about unreasonable ?
The context of the word 'unreasonable' in that text pertains to how the showrunners are writing the romance aspect of the show. There is no mention of the world-building of the show in that paragraph. I am aware that this drama is tagged fantasy, so there are concepts and scenes that you cannot apply in real life (e.g. Idea of a parallel worlds). But since both leads the have human-like characteristics, I can judge them like normal human beings. The development between the leads' relationship is unreasonable. As an example, the kiss I've mentioned above was unnecessary. It has no value at all to the development of their relationship.
I obvsly know how logic works and since this is tagged as fantasy, it's reasonable to see 'unreasonable' things. Regardless, the shows, themselves have their own logic built up around their world to explain them. I know this. But even then, there could be some scenes that doesn't add up to the 'logic' built in the show. (I'm talking hypothetically. I am considerate since there are only 5 eps up, so there are still concepts here that haven't been explained.)
Am I the only one who felt that it was too early for a kiss?
I am all in for romance, but that kiss was just out of the blue. I had to replay the scene just to understand more fully and comprehensively why that kiss was necessary for that scene. I think they're speeding up the romance too much that it's become unreasonable and unjustifiable.
I think this incorporates some of the writer's works in the past too much that it becomes tiresome to see. (I definitely see why people call this Goblin 2.0) The concept is unique but the execution and story-building just doesn't do it for me. It's pretty weak. I wish they would explore more deeply on the uncle. I'd continue to watch this just bc the writer is really famous and her dramas are often popular (so I wanna know what's the hype about) Besides, I constantly watch her dramas regardless of how they turn out to be. (*coughs The Heirs)
Butttttt I just realized this, why do I only hear the osts in the ending?
Should have been in jtbc then. I feel like they're cutting it short bc tvN is known to have the better ratings in cable. I think they're trying to preserve their esteem. Smh.

The ambiance reminds me of the older kdramas. I just love the leads' chemistry

And as the preview suggest, Lee Gon went back in time with Jo Young, and if (UNFORTUNATELY) Jo Young dies, I swear I will never forgive the writer.
