watching ep 11 right now, and I just doon understand why Fan Xian didn't immediately close Moon Embracing Pavilion when he knew his brother owned it. It was so obvious it would be used against him in the future. I don't even know what he would gain from keeping it open.
The writer focused way too much on ensuring the shock value of the "plot twists" that she forgot to developed the story between Hyun Woo and Hae In. Although tagged as romance, I feel like there was not enough scenes to develop the relationship and reconciliation between the two.
I'm glad it had a happy ending though and albeit short, included a scene with their very own child.
I always feel like some scenes in this drama were unnecessary. (e.g. Did Hyun woo need to get hit by a car in the last episode when later in the episode he was going to get shot by Eun Sung anyway???? So dramatic.) The ending scene with old Hyun Woo visiting the grave of Hae In just didn't feel necessary to me. I know it was to allude to a previous scene of Hae In saying that she will be the prettiest angel to pick up Hyun woo when he dies, but I still wish they went towards a different route (?). All throughout this drama,I was so worried of Hae In dying. Showing a scene where Hae In actually dies, although it's only 50 years later is just an additional trauma to me as a viewer.
Eun Sung isn't very meticulous when it comes to his schemes. Why couldn't he wait for Hae In's diary to burn before leaving? Why couldn't he make sure to create a scar for the accident he told Hae In about? These are little details and they matter. This is why his manipulation will never work.
Called the plot twist but it's absolutely ridiculous. It's so hard in today's time to fake someone's identity especially if you're quite high profile like Eun Sung. Heck a simple google image search of Eun Sung's face will probably release results of that embarrassing press interview with Hae In. Don't tell me he erased everything on the internet???
I was wondering why it's only Hyunwoo accompanying Hae In for such a major surgery. It doesn't make any sense that Hae In's family is not in Germany when there is a potential that she will die??? With all the tears they've been shedding for her, they couldn't be there physically and show their support. I know the company is a mess but c'mon Hae In could die.
I just don't like how dumb this has become. Surely with such a high-risk procedure, a guardian has to sign papers. I'm guessing Hyunwoo is her guardian in this case. Where is Hae In's doctor and why is he allowing Eun Sung to go near Hae In claiming to be Hyun Woo?? Don't tell me he got paid by Eun Sung to lie? Possible but so ridiculous.
What if Eun Sung kidnaps amneisiac Hae In and pretends to be her husband? Will I actually see a photoshopped picture of Hae In and Eun Sung's wedding? I guess that would be too makjang for this drama.
I just feel like this show is going to have a bittersweet ending. I think the signs are all there. And based on the track record of this writer, i don't think she's written a drama with a clear pure happy ending without a bitter reality (e.g. CLOY they only see once a year, MLFTS: the guy disappears from time to time, I can't really remember LOTBS anymore but I think the mermaid had to leave at some point too???)
I don't think I've ever seen a Xianxia drama with such a satisfying happy ending. From the dramas I've seen so far, they usually reserve the happy ending during the last 5 minutes of the show. In this drama, an entire episode is dedicated to the main couple's life of bliss.
There better be a scene in the future eps with all of the Hong family members apologizing to Hyun Woo and Hae In talking to Hyun Woo about how her fanily has treated him.
the last scene of ep 4 really makes me believe that their marriage will be fine. They just really need to start communicating their thoughts with each other.
I am really excited for the angst., especially when Hae In will find out about her husband's scheme. Throughout ep3 you can definitely see how she feels toward Hyunwoo. She still loves him. She's just really bad at expressing it (which is not a good excuse for making someone feel isolated.) She's going to be so devastated of his betrayal.
Curious as to what really went down in the last 3 years. How did they go from can't keep their hands away from each other during their honeymoon, to barely interacting in the present?
