She's first wife of his grandfather so she's his royal grandmother and grand empress dowager.

I'm no longer interested in their romance as I don't think he loves her. But his character is so interesting. I love how all hate his dream because they reduce it to greed for domination but we get to see he wants more than just power. He really has a dream for the land and the people and also has a point. I love when Li recalled Han that Zheng takes cruel decisions but does he really have another choice? I love how deep and realistic, complex and ambivalent his character is. He reminds me of Mei Changsu. You cannot not blame him yet you cannot just blame him. So refreshing !

She won't go back to Jing as she's not that selfish. She won't forgive the King because the thing is she was not even mad at him in the first place. She was never angry at him for sending her to lateral courts...which is so weird @_@. Their romance is not really endangered imo. Teasers show her dying in his arms...I'm curious about the reason. In the novel she dies anyways.

Yes you're right, it does make sense he cannot love. You pay so much for that level of power, love most certainly would be part of it, humanity itself you lose for throne. Makes me think of Heirs " he who wears the crown must bear its weight".
But I'm still disappointed in him...utterly disappointed...

I agree he's a really good actor. Only his eyes show so many different emotions.

But she did not betray him. She helped Prince Yan because Zheng could not do it himself due to his position. This Zheng understood very well. He's mad because he misunderstands she wanted to go to Jing. He chose not to believe her but rely on his suspicion once again. I really thought she would be the one helping him out of this problem....at least for her. It's very disappointing the most powerful thing in him is his suspicion. That's why I think he doesn't really love her (well the way they write him) he just likes to "own" her. You don't torture someone you love. Aaaah *sigh...what a waste...I'll still watch till the end though...:)

He lets them torture her, watches then walks away. I thought in all his cruelty she was his weakness...turns out she's not. He's merciless even with her, which is disappointing as I rather him have a weakness, it makes him more human. Her senior was right in the beginning, she cannot trust anyone with her safety not even him. As much as she can have mercy he really cannot with anyone so his love for her is pure selfishness. I find he crossed the line... he could spare his crazy concubine for much worse but he was crueler with her.

I am sad to admit my ship has officially wrecked ep 32. I cannot forgive the King, :/

In the trailer there's the scene where they officially separate, it's the same reactions by characters in all previous versions... so I assume they kept the baby's tragedy which is still one major event in the story leading to her transformation...

Yeah, the concubine thing is weird, but as for other people they die like flies. lol
I mean how many times does this king say: "kill them!" LOL If not for Li saving their ass all the time we would be even deprived of secondary characters.

It''s a Chinese historical so most likely a tragedy. This one will not have a happy ending... well...based on the story it is taken from.

Irene has such a gigantic crush on Karun right from the start and I love it... who can blame her? Near the elevator she was looking at him like he was a delicious meal! ROFL... A first for me where the lead guy gets stared at so intensely he feels embarrassed...poor girl! We understand you.

Of all dramatic T dramas I've watched only two traumatized me. First one was Mars second was this one for the exact same reason...

True it's heavy on the romance now. As it's the pairing I like, I enjoy. But I feet they became close and lovey dovey so quick, I did not understand when and how it happened. Was expecting the tension to lessen after she saved his life but it just became BAM "I like you You like me, let's flirt, play and be happy!" lol.
