It's great and has an unusually dense plot. It's pacing is quick!

In another discussion before I said sth like "What happened to the guy on his journey through the country that made him so twisted?"
Now that you recall that talk with FL, it makes me laugh. Maybe that is what happened! He really did see what BS the ppl had to put up with and how currupt the world is and he just chooses to play the game with 'em. As if there is no justice in this world, he has only learned the currupt ways and he is every eloquent in using them!

I WISH they had all the dreams! The first dream (EP 1 min 8-9) has no dream even though it was obv cut and she talked about 'a dream' she had afterwards. (A friend streamed the EP for me which he streamed over Astro).

It is hella weak! Even if he would be anrgy about being lied to all the time, that is no reason to blow up a mountain. My brother lies too me all the time, still, I am not planning his demise lol

I was thinking more on Xu Pings motivations and rewatching the interactions with his brother, especially the new ones in todays Eps (17-18) make me think that maybe he is especially mad about how his brother is just not admitting any fault, not even a glimpse of remorse is to see. I wonder, when the Emp would just come clean and tell him "It is true, all the horrible things you found out on a whim are 100% correct and I am a douche. Imma bring your moms morial place into the palace and tell the world I failed and I am going to kill my son too for accidentially pushing a candle!" would he be happy? Would he stop? It feels like the years of being lied to and the Emp even saying that he especially doted on him bc his mom treated him well...
Just how happy he was when the Emp was mistrusting his own son, having him beaten, man... he's got issues. Something must have happened in those years he was wandering around reading poetry to make him this bitter n dark.
But I gotta say, I also don't like the Emp. If SML would just direct his hatred towards that guy, I'd be fine

I thought that the dreams might be cut bc of censorship. They would be mixing 'magic' with 'historic' or something.
About 8Eps of content being cut... I can not image all of that being dreams XD

#EP17 That Liu 大人 that rats on ML for breaking out FL (to the Emperor) is the same guy that quickly killed of Qi Ce after he 'confessed' (Qi Ce is the guy that in the first Eps tried to kill ML under Duke Xin Du's instruction)

Same. They both have their own vibe and I enjoy watching them. But I am kind of digging the story more than the romance, so idk but for me I like the all around package. No complains from me1!

New Character Chart is up on the Forum (see above). Up to Ep14, it is mainly about the (closed) 3rd Story Arc (gold mine case) and how everyone is involved with each other in the matter. I added at the bottom new characters that will be important in this weeks Arc.
I am now going to watch todays Eps (15/16) and maybe add some more characters to the bottom lol Who knows what todays Eps bring

idk he was pretty douchey to our FL, tossing her onto the streets. She made the very same suggestion that the ML did to him (make up for mistakes instead of getting punished). Maybe I am just being too negative. I mean after all we got to only see his bad sides and not the years of being an upright official. hmm

I dont need him punished but I was wondering why ML and FL were talking about him being a good guy bc maybe my view is odd but a good guy does not poison children... Maybe I should just forget about this

As the viewer we know that the poor dude made one mistake (folding fan incident) and then got stuck in this dilemma, forced to be a puppet for the 3rd Prince (thx ruyi pav! Great job) and I see him being quite innocent and he seems like an "ok" dude but the poisoned candy... why does he even have that when he is a good guy??
