Yes that might be possible, that the character was supposed to be a bit of a parody of Bai Lu's characters, and that's why it felt like her. It's interesting that so many made this connection.

And LYT totally plays it casual, not dignified or calm. What I was trying to say was exactly that I don't feel her looks fit that kind of behaviour, and I would rather see her playing some dignified and calm character. Like she maybe did in LBFAD.

Though I have to say I'm now in ep 26 and so annoyed with the FL I think I wouldn't empathize with her whoever played her :D

I don't mean that she's not beautiful enough or that her acting is not good enough. I mean that for the way the character behaves I just feel would fit a different looking actress. Maybe someone who looks more childish, or naive or a very innocent look. And then would just scheme but get away with it because she looks so innocent :D LYT looks like someone dignified and calm. Of course in real life people's looks don't match their personalities like that either, but in drama world they often do. So even if she's really like that, when I'm watching it's difficult for me to feel that this is the character doing this and that. The mismatch reminds me that she's an actress hired to do this role, and that makes it harder for me to immerse in the drama.

Looking at LYT's list I know I've seen her in Love Between Fairy and Devil, but I don't remember her at all. And I've seen like one episode of Dt. Appledog's Time, but it bothered me that they changed Appledog's actress so I put that one on hold and it's been there a few years. But after this drama I will definitely remember her.

I'm glad there are people who think like you! I hope the actress gets a lot of support for her hard work. I wish I could see her more fitting for the role.

I have a very different opinion of his acting. Just today I was thinking how can he act so well with such a short acting background.

How interesting that you had the same thought! I wonder if it's her acting style, or maybe scriptwriter + directed wanted Bai Lu for the role first and it was written/directed to fit her. I also have not really watched Li Yi Tong before, I've only seen her briefly (one support role and one main role from a drama I dropped soon) and did not remember her.

I think he fits, but it bothers me that he looks younger than the 18th prince. At first I thought 18th prince was his uncle or something, not little brother :D But according to google they are the same age, 35 years old.

Anyone else feel the FL is a bit miscast? Nothing against the actress, but I just can't shake the feeling that her looks don't fit. I keep imagining Bai Lu instead of her. There is something similar in their mannerism, or maybe Bai Lu played a lot of characters like this. Or maybe she and the sister's actress switched, Li Yi Tong looks very much fit to the sister's character.

How "youthful" is this drama? I'm interested because of the lead actors and the good score, but I usually find it hard to relate to dramas that are aimed for teenage audience

Also I'm surprised to see people here calling the ML red flag. He had low EQ but was like 95 % green flag, and Viki commenters mostly agreed that the FL didn't deserve him.

I saw a clip of that and it made me come back for a rewatch :D

Pretty soon I noticed this is not my type of drama and was going to drop it. Yet something kept me watching until the end, I have no idea what.

Thank you for the update! I agree it would have been better shorter. I think limiting dramas to 40 eps max is the only good decision Chinese censors have made :D Maybe part of why I love this drama is also because I had not seen as many dramas then as I have now, but it's not only that. Just a couple of days ago I once again read the prologue in the original novel and cried my eyes out - as I do every time I read it. We also seem to have a bit different taste, since I dropped The Double after 15 eps, and I haven't even been tempted to try Blossoms in Adversity. Recent historical dramas that I liked are Legend of Shen Li, Story of Kunning Palace and The Princess Royal. All of them the new 40 eps limit so not so much extra side plots :D

I love this drama! It’s not for people who are looking for boyfriend material, or for other reasons want to see perfect people making perfect choices. But if you are like me just want to see an entertaining drama with lots of big emotions and funny moments, don’t hesitate! The first episode can make a wrong impression, because the high schoolers had a lot of screen time, but later they are only small side characters.

I just finished this and it was pretty entertaining. The rom-com part was funny (I'm into absurd comedy) and I liked the FL. Especially when she was acting all shameless with the ML in front of the annoying people. The crime plot was okay too, and drama raised some serious questions about life in Thailand. Is it really that terrible for poor women? I liked that even when the bad guy was like really really bad, the character was not one-dimensional, he had full background etc. I did not care about ep 13 that other people in the comments are talking about, I mean it's a thai lakorn after all, but what annoyed me was how that one person's hired sniper tried to kill and they got zero repercussion. Everyone was just like they just got a little overboard and did it out of love. C'moon! And yeah, the kisses were not good.

Ouch. Okay then I hope they will be good quality even if they come a bit later.
