On Love Alarm Season 2 Mar 12, 2021
I'm so happy to see people rate a drama for what it is and not just because their favourite "oppa" is in it. Seriously we need to move from "everything oppa does is good" if we want to see good cinematic content. Like i recently watched "my mister" and was stunned by it. People appreciated the drama as much as i did when i saw the reviews and i was proud of the response good content got.
People need to see this from "character" and "plot" point of view and not just the actors involved or the end ship. This drama is a mess both character and plot wise. I'm not taking the acting credit from the actors or the effort evaluation from the crew involved. They did everything they could but i just couldn't bring myself to like the end content their efforts yielded. There's nothing wrong with people's disappointment and low ratings when the content deserves it.
BE MORE VOCAL ABOUT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, IT BRINGS PROGRESS IN A CRAFT.

And what's wrong with that? The drama is 90% based on the love triangle and as bad as it sounds, the one interesting…
I would give it a 5 for the acting and production values but that's the lowest i have rated any kdrama.
This drama didn't make sense even if you force it to. The JJ×HY ending is the least of its concerns but if people watched it for their ships then there is nothing wrong with it. The first season literally made us to focus on the ships because the plot was too shallow to follow. Now if the one thing they're watching the show for ends up terrible, then i wouldn't blame people for rating it 1 star. That was their priority and focus throughout and i understand why they rated it so low.

If people think that the low ratings are because of who she ended up with then either you're very much biased to ignore the flaws of this drama or simply haven't watched the show.
The end couple is the least of this drama's problems. The plot was so boring that i literally fell asleep in ep 4 after 5 hours of waking up. Now i would have ignored the terribly slow paced plot (most kdramas does it) if the story was character driven but it didn't stick to either of those. The character of JJ was literally a punishment to watch and they didn't even give her a development from the mess that she is. HY was too perfect and was the same character i knew from season 1. SO was used as a plot device for the ending and was wasted and even then had the most obvious character development at the end. He learned to let go and be happy for her and his friend. They didn't even bother with giving him a proper closure and just literally made him stay stuck on his feelings for JJ. I was literally heart broken when i saw him trying so hard to love YJ. I was so sad for YJ because she loved a person who loved someone else.
The least the writers could have done was to give SO an actual happy ending (where he completely moves on from JJ) or gave him time to grieve and move on from the heart break but THEY DIDN'T. They pulled the "ALL OKAY" card when the situations and characters involved were far from it.

Can Netflix kdramas stop doing this? It seems like a trend and it needs to stop already. Like the SML having the…
Yess. Like give the FML an actual interesting story and don't get me to like the 2nd ML to the point where I'm only interested in his character. The FLs are just so unlikeable throughout.
Get a grip netflix.

Just finished binging 18 Again right before watching Love Alarm Season 2, and that was a horrible idea, because…
18 again was about so much more than a nonsensical love triangle. Honestly, I'm kind of hesitating to even compare the two. 18 again was soo good!

We are reviewing the drama not the webtoon. Why would i review the webtoon when i watched 4 episodes of this shit?

I can’t with all the comments of people who obviously didn’t even watch the season, except for a few minutes…
And what's wrong with that?
The drama is 90% based on the love triangle and as bad as it sounds, the one interesting thing about this whole plot was the end couple. If 90% of the drama (love triangle) doesn't yeild a result that make sense and isn't interesting, ofcourse people would review it low. It's just why people watched the first season. It's not a drama based on deep philosophical or physiological understandings, it's about two lead characters chasing the FL. So ofcourse they would review it for WHAT and HOW the final result came to exist. This drama didn't answer the "What" and "How", so i kind of understand if people rate it low.
I watched till episode 4 and dropped it because it was boring and I wasn't even interested in the ships.

People are watching this with the wrong prospective here. The least of the drama's issue is who JJ ended up with. Not a single character is consistent or interesting enough to look at for 6 episodes. The characters storylines and closures didn't make sense especially SO's. His character was sidelined just to make us interested in the forming relationship of HY and JJ when it could have been so much more. None of the character had any development for people who are supposed to grow up and have understandings of their own. The ending to SO's frustration and emotions by pairing him with YJ and make it seem like the last 4 years suddenly didn't matter is making my head hurt. It was unrealistic and uninteresting.
Massacring a character, who has so much potential, to change a view in viewer's mind (which season 1 created) about SO is literally the most low a writer could go. If they did predetermined the scenario where everyone gets a happy ending even if it doesn't make sense then they should have worked on SO's development towards accepting someone new (YJ) and JJ's development to building a proper relationship with HY. The SO and YJ scenario seemed forced as hell and the JJ and HY relationship was out of nowhere.

Let's be honest if we were jojo in real life we all would choose Hyeyeong. Feelings change with time. Accept it.
Fair enough.
I have nothing against her ending up with HY but the way they ended up together, at the expense of character's arcs, consistency and messed up closures, is bothering the hell out of me.

Why is everyone surprised that HY is the male lead? If you watched the ending credits of S1, then you would’ve…
Because SO had more screen time in season 1. JJ and SO were the focal point of season one's plot, everything revolved around them.
HY is the ML in second season and SO was just sidelined.
On Love Alarm Season 2 Mar 12, 2021
Can we talk about Song Kang's acting here? I mean all the actors did a good job but the way Song Kang shows frustration and emotions still gets me. I'll patiently wait for Navillera (it doesn't have romance) because the show seems promising and more character focused.

Yess. I couldn't care less about the ships if they gave us anything else to look at. There was nothing to focus…
Exactly and the painful thing is they did that for the sake of a ship and to remove the effect SO had in the first season just so we could go along with HY and his storyline. They could have clearly prevented that by writing different arcs for them even if they wanted JJ×HY ending. I was literally the most attached to SO character among them (so were 80% people who watched season 1) but they just made him to be a side character whose whole character was a plot device for the ending we got.

Yess. I couldn't care less about the ships if they gave us anything else to look at. There was nothing to focus on except the characters but they practically just destroyed their effectiveness.

I think we did. I feel bad now. The backlash directed towards the writers is affecting the cast and crew who had no fault in how the plot turned out.

Hyeyeong
Actually HY is the first lead in 2nd season. He had more screen time.
Watch the drama and you'll know why. It wasn't just about who ended up with whom. The drama had more serious issues.

Don't go in with any expectations and forget about main character's arc and journey in season 1, then maybe you'll be able to watch it.

appears Sunoh was SML all this time lol we just got deceived. And Sunoh got sidelined.
I dropped it at ep 4 because it's literally just depressing at this point. I knew the ending and still gave it a shot because i didn't care much about the ships but individual characters. They massacred SO's and JJ's characters. The plot is boring as hell.

Season 2 is different. They didn't even give enough time to SO for us to digest his change or anything he does. He's just there because he is. The writers kind of forgot season 1 and what made it popular.

I just can't go on.
Will it be unfair of me to rate the drama when I've only watched 4 episodes? I just can't keep watching because it just doesn't make sense anymore and i don't want to unfair with rating a drama when i haven't even watched it to the end.
