i might be in the minority but i am rooting for junmo and euijeong. half the tiktok community wants her with jgc…
Tiktok community is delusional and have been known to prefer cheap thrills over quality experiences. Watching this show should evoke many emotions far more raw than the cheap thrill of a wife cheating on her husband.
I want PJM's character to go down a dark and gritty arc etched in blood and ambition but I know that'll remain an unfulfilled wish of mine to see that in a Kdrama. The writers are always more concerned about the "morality" of their protagonist rather than a realistic portrayal of character based in genuineness and honesty towards the dark side of humanity. Real life gangsters are some of the most gruesome and cruel people ever. We have romanticised them plenty but show me what they really are. If PJM wants to hold his own in this world, he'll have to become what he wish to eradicate. IDC much about the "love triangle" (although it was a d*ck move on her part to keep her "first love" memoirs with her while being married) as long as it doesn't just wears his character down to just "her". His journey is far too bigger and laced with death for him to really care about childish attachments of his wife with her "first love" (if her character really goes down that path).
I don't know why this is so well liked and appreciated (note: I don't hate that the fact that so many people like it, I just don't understand it). It's the most generic and uneventful caricature of cliches and romanticism. The characters are subpar at their best (well maybe some side characters shine the brightest at moments). I think this has a target audience and I made the mistake of hoping to see something new in a "romantic" kdrama. Though I loved the moments of ML teaching and his enthusiasm about it.
Holy sh*t! There are about 85000 comments on a show that hasn't even aired yet. I know nothing about this drama and most likely will never watch it but I hope it airs so all these comments and pleas bears its fruit.
I don't know why I keep thinking about this. It's not very well written, it nothing intresting or unique (like I've seen the theme a hundred times) but I still am here. Wierd. Anyway the only thing I'm sure about is I want a properly closed ending, not the half-assed "maybe" after freaking 16 episodes of nothing. May that ending be sad, a tragedy or happy (I don't care much).
The hate for SFL is unwarranted and quite pathetic. Sure she isn't the MOST loveable person because she comes off as a little dishonest and less genuine but so is the case with the FL and even more so. The SFL doesn't treat people like they are a burden and a unwanted. She makes people laugh and most people are happy around her. She has flaws too but who doesn't. I'm very much rooting for her character development and her relationship with the ML as I am for the FL and her relationship with the SML.
She is the one who ostracized herself from her colleagues. She wanted to eat alone and do nothing with them. Technical…
Exactly! I do feel bad for her but her philosophy towards life is too much isolation and treating people like villians. The world is cruel and mostly unforgiving but to top that and become someone shut off and narrow mindedly enough to believe that all the people are out to take advantage of her will certainly not make her world less cruel and unforgiving. It actually is counterproductive.
I like it, so far, BUT I also know that I won't be able to keep liking it till the end.The plot and character…
Yes. I find the plot unrealistic and frustrating but if (and that's a very unlikely if) they somehow develop the respective relationships of the main leads with second leads and not pursue the very unrealistic and frustrating cliche of main leads ending together despite all the negatives of their relationship just for the sake of "love conquers" BS, if that happens I would very much like to explore the storylines and character arcs along the good people in the comment section.
I feel like people live a very messed up and unnecessarily stressful life judging from the comments STRESSING that all this is realistic. I'm a 21 years old with very limited communication skills but the lack of it here makes me feel like a communication grandmaster. This isn't even close to the reality I live in. We talk here to people we love or like enough to persue a relationship with. Sure the camera work and atmosphere makes it feel monotones enough to compare it with real life but the deeper you go, the more unrealistic it seems to me. My friend confessed to a classmate of mine the other day and it pretty much was decided on a cup of coffe that they wanted each other in their lives. Mine pretty went the same a year ago and I'm really happy. I just don't seem to find it realistic or likeable enough that two grownups are behaving the way they are. One is a hopeless romantic pursuing someone he shouldn't with very wrong sense of romanticism and the other is messed up in the head enough to treat people like trash (stupid enough to not seek help) because she's PROTECTING herself from the messed up world we live in. It is a messed up world but to shut off everyone around you will certainly make it messier. But WTH do I know. Maybe we are from two different worlds and we have it easy here.
My girlfriend literally forced me to watch this because she says I'll come to love the romance genre if I watched enough of it especially Kdramas but I'm laughing my heart out through all of this. Like I used to watch a few of these in the past but it seems extremely immature and funny (in a silly way) now. Maybe I'm older now. The pacing of the story is slow and add the nonexistent storyline on top of that, it's a mess. The character arcs are a mush of two things; romance (an extremely nonsensical one) and glimpses of an unlikely student life. The writer's need to depend upon the love lines of different characters to explain their characterization is really hard to swallow (and trust me, I've watched some really bad shit) and it comes off as wish-fulfilment for a certain demographic. I knew this show has a target audience and me being 21 years old....is kind of old to enjoy this genre.
yeah, this drama is very well through on the details but lacks on projecting for the big picture. we got very…
Exactly! I think it would been much better, from a storyline POV, if they put more effort and time into the main leads but well, all we can do is hope it focuses on them in the last episodes but I don't think it will.
Why is it that we know the least about the ML amongst all the characters? The focus on other characters is very well done but the lack of explanations and portrayal of the ML's storyline is miniscule. He's the ML who the story is supposed to revolve around but that isn't the case here. I think I understand the ML's mother. All that is coming from a place of love but very misdirected. Nana is by far the most misunderstood character so far, i think. She's a very complex character involved in a very disorderly romance. I can understand the frustration and I think she hasn't gone too far like most SFLs. The FL is still really ambiguous except very few instances. Her motivations are very situation directed rather than thought out personally. All I can say is that she has very little agency of her own. The cinematography is BEAUTIFUL. The acting is very nuanced. The storylines are very well thought out except ofcourse the main leads' one.
I think we should not let a neglectful plotline of the supposed "romance" ruin anything (if you find the romance badly written) about this beautifully written drama but I think it really is the weakest thread in story. I can't believe I'm using the word "chemistry" (which is often misrepresented as only the mush of visuals) or better, the lack of it here. They have met a handful of times and took jabs at each other for no reason and the ML sort of just pushing it in the face with his "feelings" but all that can be interlinked with lack of screen time and unnecessary need to push romance into this story. But if you like it, there's nothing to complain about really.
This drama is special. It has a very simple storyline if you only focus on the beginning and the ending but if you keep your mind on the process of it, I assure you, it's really enjoyable. It has both the smart and satisfying elements meant for a business and revenge plotline. The acting is impeccable (LSM giving a lifetime worthy performance especially) and every character is interwoven into the main plotline perfectly without wasting any time on useless things (which Kdramas does a lot). There's no good or bad people here. Everyone's fighting for themselves including the ML. You can actually side with other characters without the drama forcing you to see things only from the ML's prespective. It is a spectacle to watch. Don't miss it.
Imagine building something with your sweat and tears, toiling day and night to make it successful and then your…
Exactly. He's a very smart and dedicated businessman who sacrificed everything around him to build an empire and now the incompetence of his children is a threat to his legacy and existence. I don't blame him one bit for being ruthless in the process of protecting Sunyang.

Among the very few heavy weights who is still relevant and fresh to watch.
