Y'all got me putting the Chinese adaption on hold at ep 5 for a contemplative switch to this version 🤔
the chinese version is good, i gotta give you that since it covers the manga the most (considering it has 50 episodes) but the thai version is something else...its just.....so special
so...."hua zhe lei" did not end up with "shan cai" right? I did not finish watching it but I really kind of hoped…
I also love Hua Ze Lei`s character in all the versions but he neved ends up with the female lead, nor does he get any other love-interest in any of the versions or the manga. But he will find his one true love someday.
Wow your dedication to watching the remakes is top notch! Sounds like the 1988 version would be more up my alley…
This type of story in this day and age (2022) would be hard to make because the society has changed in the last decade in so many ways. I mean, could the today`s society really enjoy this old-school story?
I do however hope they do a remake without spilling sugar into the story, it would be so interesting to watch.
I just started watching but I just can't seem to understand the part where she looked him cut the shoe her mom…
To use any sort of violence you need the anger to motivate you. Thyme cutting the shoe like that was metaphorical to him cutting Gorya`s inside to pieces. She was saddened, she was hurt. And quite in a stance type of shock. Because it had all came around to this moment.
The steps she takes to get her shoe back is when she already has made her decision. She turns all her pain into fury, wears her abused shoe and KICKS Thyme with THAT shoe!
That is the Footprint of a Meteor...the moment a shooting star falls upon Thyme and rest of the F4.
I totally appreciate this review! On my side, this is one of my top favourite lakhorns despite the very controversial and horrible stuff that goes on in it. i also wish i could read the novel.
I love this story sooooo much that i watched the 1988 version and 1998 version raw. The version from 1998 was very well done, but more of a gothic horror story. It still gripped me, but in that version Kawee was more brutal. He didn`t kidnap her, but instead drugged all the servants so that no one would help Narin when he raped her. I truly felt the disgusting and immoral impact in that version, therefore i never come to love Kawee in that version despite the good performance by the actor.
The 1988 version is more to my liking, since the actor in that one brought much charm and childishness to his portrayal of Kawee. This actor could make him so endearing, one of his early scenes with Narin is when he visits her at her work place and takes her hand, looks into her eyes and says "I want your love". He is being manipulative, but still so charming! I got butterflies by it!
In that version their romance was more carefully developed and he even fell more earlier in love with her than in the later versions.
I get your point about people still may hate or love this lakhorn. I totally get it. Another awesome review!
I also love this review- so wonderfully critisized in a very respectful manner which is very hard when it comes to ranting.
I have not watched this lakhorn but i have seen MFS which i also LOVED. Mark is incredible actor and he can make me like whatever character he portrays. I will definitely check this one out also since many people seem to have enjoyed it.
Ikr? I don't think Pokhai was inherently bad and if Siri was able to let go of her ambitions, they would've had…
The actor portraying Pokhai was terrific! His stance, his looks of hurt and bitterness. How he wanted to leave the house with his mother early on in this story, and his mother refusing to leave the man who treats her and her son like shit.
It felt like he knew he would succumb to being evil, that he would give in to the darkness that had been growing inside of him ever since he was born.
He is so tragic, all he wanted was acceptance and love. He would have been satisfied with Siri and their child if she would have let it happen.
Ohhhh i have a fun question to ask! Which guy do you prefer for Gorya? Thyme or Ren?
For me there is not a question about it. Thyme & Gorya are destined for each other. No matter what happens. Its them all the time. Even when the author of the manga-series had another plan, the characters told her something different. Makino wanted Tsukasa and the author gave her heroine the man she wanted. That i call magic.
My first time watching Win on-screen was in F4 Thailand and his charisma blew my mind off in his role as the manipulative, cold womanizer Kavin. I also like his female co-star so i am definitely checking this drama out when it has finished airing.
But one thing i am certain with GMMTV´s "soap-opera" shows is that it tends to drag near the end with the story-line really going downhill. I hope it doesn`t happen with "Devil Sister".
Chile, you need to take a break for a week. You sound delusional and obsessive. Telling folks what to watch, based…
On yeah! I am loving this discussion! We see that in the mv "Who Am I" with the sky train.
All of the Four Flowers are in a bad place at the start of their journey.
Ren is surrounded by a closed off blue space in the train. It looks like he is drowning in his loneliness.
Kavin is surrounded by plastic everywhere. The plastic symbolizes his mask over his heart.
MJ have papers everywhere around him. It showcases his responsibility and his ROLE in this story.
Thyme is surrounded by a dead garden. The sheets of the Black Rose (that symbolizes his cursed state) takes him to Gorya who does indeed have that goddess quality with her dress that is full of flowers and her long hair.
They take each others hands and they run. Kavin rips his plastic (mask) off and MJ and Ren also starts to run. All of them run together in the sky train, because this is their journey together.
At one point Gorya stops because she is exhausted (this actually happens in this story in ep 9 when she kicks Thyme out of her life) but then she looks up and sees that Thyme and rest of the F4 having her back.
This is their journey. They will do this together. Everytime.

That one sentence bothered you that much? Just because of the attitude behind it?
Many comments here are combative and in a honest way. I have nothing against combative comments if there are no offence or disrespect behind it.
This person did not offend any person or group. My point being, i find your comment to harsh towards this person. You called this person obsessive and delusional and other stuff. That was unnecessary.
I however do agree that any person should watch anything they want. But then viewers have also the right to ignore MaraClara`s warning.

Hi Ninjarette.
with all respct, I see it as this person just warning others for triggers some may found uncomfortable. She/ He is just speaking up on tropes that some viewers may dislike and not at all find believable. I even have one sister who refuses to watch this show just because the enemies to lovers trope triggers her, she even hates Beauty and the Beast-fairy tale. I am alright with that.
MaraClara didn`t write anything offensive by the way.
I have not seen that many comments from her/him in this section, MaraClara doesn`t write that very often here but when he/she does it is because she explains certain aspect she/he love about this show. So i don`t find this person obsessive and delusional.
I actually was planning to re-watch this but they took down the playlist from youtube, ahhhh so disappointed. Kob & Brook gave awesome performances in this one.
No i haven`t watched it because i decided to watch the newer subbed version starring Mai & Dome first so i could have a understanding of the story completely. Then i will definitely turn around to watch this version, i am a big fan of Kob!
Have you seen the latest thai version of BOF?
That quote always makes my heart warm.
