I love how you used "rope" in the title. Made me laugh a little. I hope the actors got to choose this project and had a say in the process. I adore Li Yun Rui in just about any role, so we'll see how this one goes.
Luckily I didn't actively watch the drama. rather just skipped through a few episodes so I'm not quite upset.…
I very much watch dramas to escape reality, and after about episode 11, I knew this one was not going to end well. I love the male and female leads and I thought they did a good job in their parts, but in my drama world, love overcomes. I need that to counterbalance the reality we all face sometimes.
It seems to be a trend. Every time a drama is ending a lot of negativity emerges.Do you all have a lot of unrealistic…
I've neither fast-forwarded nor skipped episodes with this drama. Unrealistically, I've grown tired of the subtle glances and fleeting touches of fingers. These two clash and begrudgingly become the other's partner. It's refreshing.
On a side note, I loved your review of the drama. More than once I started smiling from the commentary.
I am really liking the drama so far, but I get why people are getting salty; it is not nice when a drama make…
This is a pairing that survives. I love the fact that they are both eyeing each other up as competitor, advisory, partner and survivor. The story doesn't ever give anything away as to how it will end.
Does Fu Yun Xi really suffer from a mysterious illness as the summary suggests? Because I'm at episode 5 at the…
Remember when his wife drank the small glass of wine? She drank all of it, he drank half. I'm betting that he's got a chronic illness due to the poison.
Why don't you like the ML? Not pretty enough? I like faces like ML's 🤣
Totally understand your perspective. My favorite dramas are ones with characters that swim in the grey area of life. They have been formed to choose neither the good nor the bad but opportunities for survival. Both the FL and ML are on that trajectory and the most interesting and intense scenes are when their lines collide. Frenemies, enemies or lovers, i truly am enjoying which direction the story leads.

I totally understand, and actually, I love your perspective as well. The female lead was one that I purposely avoided on every drama she was in because her range of acting emotion went from stoic to blank. Because I was in a slight drama drought, I thought I'd give this one a try just to see if there was anything worth watching. I truly couldn't believe how perfect she was for the part and that is due to the fact the character has to keep her emotions hidden. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a drama as much as this one.

Hey!!!!! The male lead is a refreshing change from past dramas. His eyes tell everything that is turmoil while his body is perfectly still. I cant get enough.
Based on this spoiler, Xiwen manages to divorce her fake dad aka Shiyang but he killed both Xiwen & Yuwen:https://youtu.be/MMifl0vVAvk?si=mByY1VqRiufUsabj
I saw a few behind-the-scenes videos, and the director said he wanted the drama to move storywise with every episode. I think that's the reason I can't get enough because there are no filler moments, just pure written and acted moments that propel the story forward. The director gets a gold star in my book.
