It is not a forced romance . From the ML’s perspective he is someone who is pretty much shunned by everyone and all they think about is how to use him or kill him. She is the only one who treats him sincerely and he sees her as this honest person with no agenda . For her part she is in a new world where she knows no one and he cherishes and protects her and lets her be herself. So it is mutual .
