Having enjoyed the chemistry of the actors, there was certain storylines i could not reconcile after the show ended…
Special does not mean having some exclusive power or strength. This was not a mere exchange of senses- he exchanged his life with her selflessly without asking for anything in return. And he showed her how to live and love and brought a lot of warmth to her cold, endless immortal life. Not any human being could do that for her- only he could. That is his strength and that is what made him special
Came to say goodbye to this forum too. It is a 10/10 for me also after rewatch of many scenes. Happy with the…
Yes Arthur Chen has that maturity about him. He actually understood his character very well and brought the right tones to Duan Xu. His performance showed us how versatile he is . There will be a drama drought now!
Finally completed my rewatch . Seriously it will be hard to get over this emotional journey. I am saying my final goodbye to this forum. My rating will stay at 10/10 because as I said before the caliber of this drama is just top notch! A rare masterpiece! This is Dilraba’s best drama yet! And let’s just say that I am loving Arthur Chen more and more with every single drama of his. The depth of his performance is truly amazing ! He has become one of my favorite actors..I have already written my review.
What a fantastic actor! Loved him as Duan Xu I LBTG. If I had to rank his dramas: 1. Lighter and princess 2. Love Beyond the Grave 3. When Destiny brings the demon 4. Love story in the 70s 5. Eat Run and love But then they are all such different characters and you cannot. Compare them even this ranking will not work! A versatile actor!
This was not for everyone. It had its ups and downs. For me mostly down. The 'match' did feel like auntie/nephew.…
This whole auntie nephew thing people are going on about is plain ridiculous. This character needed a mature woman with a strong presence who could bring whole 400 yr old spirit vibe here . And Dilraba suits that to a T- she was perfect . And she is 33 for heavens sake -when did that become old??? . This obsession with evergreen youth which does not exist is a bit too much. When you get to that age we will talk. Anyway someone younger could never have carried this role. And honestly their chemistry was so good.- 7 yrs is nothing in this day and age. These biases need to go. And yes the ML did an amazing job with his role . Like @ cutiecotton said there is no winning with y’all
I think Chen Feiyu did an amazing job in his role, but, him smiling was annoying lol. kinda took away the coolness…
A general does not have to be stoic and expressionless all the time . he smiled a lot to hide his sadness. He was the perfect foil to her cruel, heartless character because he brought the right amount of warmth that was needed .
The thing is most of the international viewers are used to seeing stoic faces with same personality male leads…
Yeah it seems like they want cartoon like theatrics on the face. Subtlety is not accepted. I am not taking these ratings seriously either because elsewhere this drama is receiving a lot of accolades . And the leads too.
An observation from my rewatch. Yes Duan Xu’s character does smile a lot but those smiles really pull at your heartstrings. There is so much pain and sadness in those smiles that they hardly even reach his eyes. Duan Xu is one of those people who was never loved throughout his life. When you think about this all his persistence and longing for. he Simu’s love makes so much sense! Chen Feiyu has really shown this in his subtle understated portrayal of Duan Xu
1. Lighter and princess
2. Love Beyond the Grave
3. When Destiny brings the demon
4. Love story in the 70s
5. Eat Run and love
But then they are all such different characters and you cannot. Compare them even this ranking will not work! A versatile actor!
